Having seen the way some of them drive, I reckon half the team would make it in time

Putting my Buster head on for a moment. If they issue vouchers and the first match I'd delayed or crap an awful lot of people would take the voucher and Buster would in effect lose that money. I know me seeing his side will shock some people but I'm a Libran so can see both sides although it's the club lack of foresight (or early season fixtures) that has caused this problem. Just a thought, why couldn't one meeting be held BH Monday morning. Would be over and done with in time for both teams to ride in the evening.

Strangely I thought the racing was pretty good don't really notice how fast they get on with it as I do Suduko or candy crush between races. Each to their own I guess

I think you could well be right. Just think of the positive spin the club could put on it - although no longer part of the team he is still prepared to help out if needed. Just needs a bit of thought.

You know damn well I won't. Things have to improve a lot more on the VFM aspect first. You and I both know it's very easy to say a rider is on standby. As he is anonymous it could well be a 3 pt National League rider. As tellboy says it won't be Bewley, but for the reassurance of fans who are willing to pay wouldn't it be nice for them to know, just in case he is needed and to say thanks anyway if he's not.

Now call me cynical but I'd be more reassured if the rider had been named can think of no good reason not to name him

So who would fit and be available for Schlien? if both teams use r/r might be advisable to take sleeping bags (that's not being negative simply realistic)

So in reality they will be taking the same risk as the paying customers who could end up paying for a pile of poo instead of a decent 2nd meeting.

The problem with that is history tends to make folk believe the second sentence will happen. As with much in speedway nowadays it's all about perception. Quite honestly the perception is the promoters are not always on the side of the fans.

Wonder why this is not being ridden today. Wednesday is one of the FRNs, the weather is good, neither team has another fixture in the calendar Maybe next year all matches cancelled on Mondays must be ridden on the following Wednesday. Matches cancelled on Wednesdays must be ridden on the following Monday. Just need to compile the fixtures so each club rides Monday one week and Wednesday the next. Can't be more difficult to work out than the current mess of a fixture list.

Quite frankly if the promoters can't fit in the pathetic number of home fixtures into a whole summer they have no right organising the sport. A cut off date is a cut off date.
