  1. So those riders signed contracts to ride for the teams knowing they would be in their team to ride at a Saturday track and now won't do it. The tail wags the dog yet again. I don't have much time for promoters at present but IMHO some riders are getting too bloody big for their boots. Name and shame them and force their clubs to run with a NL guest. If that then means the greedy sods are out of a job cos the clubs wont run with NL guests - serve them right.
  2. So what are Coventry going to do next year if the EL goes to single night racing. Come to that what are Leicester going to do. Just another example of the intransigence of speedway promoters
  3. I've long been a fan of some form of squad system but frankly the way this is being done stinks. If squads of some form are being introduced the authorities should announce it not one promoter, altho I cannot really fault Jon Cook for keeping his fans informed. Just typical of the way the sport is being run .
  4. As the fixtures are published tomorrow, will Lynn and Leicester be allowed facilities for any fixture clashes with their future signings? If so guests or r/r? Genuine question
  5. the above is taken from the official Lynn site posted on December 6th. Incidentally Kerr's signing was announced on November 7th, so something must have happened between the two dates. It seems inconceivable to me that an experienced promoter like Buster would allow he Kerr situation to happen UNLESS he was pretty sure of a really good signing at number 1. To me that means GP standard (below that losing Kerr just isn't worth it) the only likely candidates were Doyle and NKI with Kildemand and Nicki P outside possibilities. It makes absolutely no sense if not. I doubt we will ever know which one let them down
  6. I am somewhat puzzled as to why Lynn should not take the blame for the Kerr situation. As I understand it, they signed him therefore giving up any other advantages with draft riders, after that he signed for Ipswich and Lynn decided to ride on Thursdays (not sure in which order). Now as I see it, Lynn had two choices - don't change to Thursday or don't allow Kerr to ride at Ipswich (unless Lynn take priority). For whatever reason Lynn did neither. That is not the fault of the other EL teams, it is purely Lynn's choice. Blackbird not riding is a red herring. Would the Lynn apologists be quite happy for Lakeside to be allowed to use a non listed rider? I'm still of the opinion that Lynn put all their plans on NKI riding in 2016 and had no back up plan and it's backfired. I hope I'm wrong and Buster pulls a rabbit out of the hat (as long as it's not a bjerre-rabbit) for the no 1 spot. Several sports are having their integrity questioned at present, maybe this is all a BSPA plot to get media attention
  7. If that's the case, so be it. Rather that than manipulate other clubs and bend the rules because we cocked up. Better to finish bottom of the league than be labelled cheats!
  8. Thanks for that PR. I had my opinion before reading all this, my view has just been reinforced. Some folk can have all the money and so called friends in the world but you cannot buy class
  9. I note there was no defence or even understanding of Parsons in Torben Olsen's remarks. I assume that the journalistic integrity of the Speedway Star would have included them had he made any. Reading between the lines that implies to me that Olsen doesn't exactly approve of Parsons actions but doesn't say so cos Monster stick a load of dosh in to SGP and SWC,
  10. I would argue that Bjerre isn't realistic. I totally agree with Trees his lack of team spirit is unsurpassed, especially at Lynn, who have a reputation for loyalty going both ways. His effect on the attendance figures would be disastrous. Far better IMHO to try an unknown or untried foreigner and forget the unused points.
  11. Fair enough. Will all you wanting to debate past controversial issues P!55 OFF to your own threads . That includes El Whatsit. 4evB, Btwitch and Arian. Tis that better
  12. Could I politely remind you , this thread is entitled Kings Lynn 2016. If anyone wants to debate other teams and previous seasons can I respectfully request you go to your own playgrounds and quarrel. We have enough problems without putting up with old arguments that will change nothing.
  13. I think the official line was to move towards same day racing. If you believe that I'll introduce you to the fairies at the bottom of my garden
  14. Takes a person with integrity to apologise. Welcome back, the forum has been a poorer place without you.
  15. I think you need lessons in annoying people, I'm sure there is a forum member somewhere who is an expert and likes giving tips Edit. If only he would give me tips on getting smilies to work on mobile devices ggggrrrr
  16. I've been churning over that , why would a diary owner supply milk on a daily basis
  17. 300+ posts before a thread goes off topic is probably a record
  18. Look at it this way. If Poole were one of the incomplete teams and the rules were changed there would be uproar! All teams had the same time frame to build, if some hung about too long and missed the boat, they only have themselves to blame.
  19. Not sure I agree with that as it would give those teams an unfair advantage over the teams that have filled their teams under current rules. Whilst I agree with GRW that one promoter vetoing this is unfair, if that's what the rules allow him to do it's the rules that need changing (where have we heard that before ) As I understand it most riders want less meetings close together so that wouldn't solve their problem. For 3 months they would still have what they consider too many meetings in a month. What they want is along the lines of Rider A riding in week 1 and rider B riding in week 2 sort of deal.
  20. Obviously you didn't do early shifts for many years, early rising is a very hard to break habit
  21. All of which were updated AFTER the posts above were made. I checked on 2 devices before my posting #1326. Sorry to disappoint you I thank you for the flattering comments. However I'm not the slightest bit interested. To be honest even if I won the lottery I wouldn't put money into British Speedway at present. I (with a few other fans) have been involved in a very small way over the years and possibly understand a bit more than some. Promoting speedway is not an easy job but as Semion has said several times, Buster appears to be spreading himself a bit thin at the moment and needs someone he can trust implicitly to be his 2nd in command and deal with the mundane day to day stuff. Trouble is Speedway doesn't have the finance to employ such people, who ideally need to be totally independent from outside influences e.g. sponsors/replica kit etc.so they are trusted by the customers/fans. I don't profess to know all the answers but there are many things that can be done that would not cost anything and even more that would not cost a lot , many of which have been posted by various members on BSF over the years. Ideally these ideas need to be tapped into but I won't hold my breath. At least when Jonathan was around he would listen to fans. He has on occasions explained to me why something was not possible, which proved he had listened and given it at least a moments thought.
  22. Or even how much it will cost for a normal league match. There is nothing on the website about 2016 admission prices and you have to contact the club to find out the season ticket costs? I would have thought such information was basic marketing.
  23. Mike surely you know by now that the official Lynn website is the last place you will find any news concerning Kings Lynn
