  1. I know you think Belle Vue are the be all and end all but can I point out it was not the opening home meeting, that honour (and probably their only one this season) went to Lakeside. I'm with Mimmo, rather see good racing than win trophies but I accept others don't agree. incidentally Lynn had decades of not winning not just a paltry eight years
  2. as the BSPA dont want to upset Sky by allowing periscope you are only doing exactly what the BSPA want. That should make you feel better
  3. So maybe by just issuing the statement the BSPA have covered themselves legally
  4. The whole deal is detrimental to the sport. I could go to Lynn tonight to see Belle Vue, I won't because the cold is not good news health wise but as it's likely to be a decent meeting I'd be more than happy to pay to watch it online. Pretty sure a fair few BV fans would too. I can't be the only one so Lynn and others I'm sure are missing out on additional revenue.
  5. so why has he got a monster urge to ride for Britain in the SWC then
  6. I apologise for casting aspersions on Swindons management. My point is still valid tho, changing fixtures like this is unprofessional.
  7. He declares on Twitter that he has done loads for British speedway and will do more than any Brit in the next 10 years. Well let's look at that..... He's doing nothing for Glasgow who by all accounts are doing a massively good job And He's doing nothing for Scunthorpe , but what has Scunthorpe ever done for him! He's not exactly put many bums on seats of British speedway for the last few years. OK he got on the BBC but so did the Belle Vue opening night farce! Id have a teeny bit of respect for him if he just came out and said the money's crap and it ain't worth my time.
  8. So you are suggesting that next Denmark wont be allowed to pick Nicki Pedersen! Sponsors should have no input into how a sport is run. Hopefully Rosco will grow some balls and the new BSPA chairman will back him.
  9. He's an arrogant little git isn't he. Stating he will be captaining Team GB. Didn't think the team had been selected yet! As Rosco has already stated that any rider who doesn't do the training camp next year wont be picked maybe he'll grow some balls and say if you don't do the British Final you don't ride for Team GB. He wont but he should IMHO.
  10. So Rosco has sole responsibility for everything at Swindon?
  11. Firstly I'm not your dear, darling and secondly did I name Rosco....NO. I cannot see Poole doing the same thing and AFAIK Middlo is not a full time speedway manager. If speedway want to be regarded as a credible professional sport it needs to act like one and crap like this has to be avoided.
  12. I begin to wonder where the brains are in the Swindon management team. First they didn't realise the Doyle/Morris Somerset/Wroclaw double booking and now they find an "unexpected" international fixture. It's not bloody rocket science If fans can read fixture lists from Poland surely "professional" speedway management can
  13. Blooming heck I thought this thread was about a speedway meeting not the ruddy politics show!
  14. Lovely sunny day, now a few white fluffy bits in the sky. Fairish breeze so will be chilly. Will it start on time? Questionable after the delays at Lakeside and Bank Holiday traffic.
  15. No. Been raining off & on all afternoon. Nothing worse than standing on terraces even in light drizzle, wondering if it will ge past 10 heats when all parties are happy to rearrange tomorrow when no rain is forecast
  16. Would be helpful if they could mention disabled access/facilities in the stadium info.
  17. He was a sweety pie and very polite, I got more hassle from the staff when I tried to get to the office He simply asked if I could wait around for a while so he could attend to riders/staff etc. which I was happy to do. Whilst he was still around I never worried about the weather when travelling to BV matches.
  18. Home only mate, no way am I venturing near the M25 and M11 on a Bank Holiday. That's the diplomatic answer in case any Lakeside fans are reading
  19. I've been offered refunds (well strictly speaking I asked and was given) at several away tracks. The most surprising, and I think Trees was with me, was at Belle Vue in the days of John Perrin, despite BV and Lynn fans telling me I had no chance. I guess it depends how and when you ask. I am surprised about Matt Ford tho, I always thought of him as one of the promoters who treated fans well.
  20. Hopefully it will make it easier for you to get a lift Bryn You never know I might even put in a guest appearance
  21. Excellent!Could even show clips of the racing from the previous week.......oh hang on a minute, not allowed cos of GSs exclusivity DoDah.
  22. Sensible decision. Been raining for last 30 minutes or so. Far better to postpone now than an afternoon of is it on or not.
