  1. Sun is very hazy so probably no delay. Something on your arms and legs is always advisable at Saddlebow Road, especially on the bends, due to a phenomenon known as flying shale
  2. Fingers crossed it's not officially announced until after the Sky broadcast finishes tonight!
  3. As I'd hate to disappoint semion Weather update.......bloody hot with a fair old warm breeze. Car thermometer says 37 degrees but I think it's fibbing
  4. Of course they should continue to use it. This is the UK and we should not follow the USA in all things. After all I doubt many of us think we should have the right to bear arms !
  5. So with any luck we can have a Darcy free meeting
  6. Bloody hope not, I'm totally sick of all the hype
  7. I like to be different There again, check my signature
  8. Thought I'd start this thread cos (and don't all faint) Ive decided to go and watch this one live. Several reasons... Shouty Man has gone Sky are there so no marathon tractor intervals Sky are there so no long sun breaks Sky are there so it won't finish at an ungodly hour It's gonna be that hot I don't want to be sat in front of the TV Coincidentally it will be my fifth live speedway meeting this year and the fifth time I will have seen Kyle Newman and Robert Lambert on opposing teams. Whose gonna win ...I ain't got a Scooby and to be honest I don't really care as long as the racing is reasonable, now that is the one thing I can't be sure of but I'm gonna give it a try (tho it's gotta go some to beat what I''ve seen at EOES this season).
  9. My third visit to EOES this season and the third time I've seen Plymouth and I'm not complaining. All three matches have been bloody good entertainment , but then I'm not an out an out Panthers fan. Not sure what the question is but he sure as hell isn't the answer. Put a Brit in, any Brit, even one of the 11 year olds from the earlier meeting and they could do as well. Which brings me to say what a pleasant day out. The 125cc British Final was well worth watching 4/5 genuine overtakes and 3 young lads who must be stars of the future. Well done to the Thompson boys and Harry McGurk. I watched the final last year and it seems to me that they have all progressed. Once again it was such a pleasure to watch them, totally professional, no stupid gardening, up to the tapes and ready go. They acknowledged the crowd and looked to really enjoy themselves. 12 heats and a final done and dusted in 50 minutes, which maybe was a tad too fast but shows what can be done when riders co-operate. Contrast that with the PL match, started at 1720 Finished at 1910, that's an hour longer for 2 heats extra. Fair enough take out 10 minutes for the kids presentation but it was long drawn out and far too much blooming tractor racing. There was so much I thought I was at Saddlebow Road at one point The track looked to have much more dirt on the inside today than my two earlier visits and the racing wasn't quite so good as for much of the early part of the meeting there didn't seem to be as many lines. However the whole afternoon was value for money, I thoroughly enjoyed it and if it hadn't been for my bum hurting the seat I might have stayed for the MDL match.
  10. Anyone know if Kevin is now a permanent fixture on the centre gray?
  11. Thanks for the reply. So in effect foreign riders are subsidised, cos young Brits in the main don't get free board and lodgings
  12. They need to check the destination on the 1st too, cos there is no Norfolk Park near King's Lynn
  13. Is facts Peterborough speak for hot air? I would love to get an answer to my questions tho
  14. Wasn't aware I was preaching merely voicing my opinion and asking questions. My comments are not aimed specifically at Peterboro but at ALL clubs, in both leagues. Too many of them seem to bring in foreigners to replace young Brits and IMHO that is counter productive. I don't see countries that are more successful that Britain employing very low average Brits and giving them the opportunity to progress in their countries and to me it's all wrong that British clubs employ mediocre (at best) foreigners and give them the experience to progress and then as a collective (BSPA) bemoan the fact that Britain doesn't win anything.
  15. Pity they can't "help" out a young British rider As a matter of interest does anyone know if promotions still have to pay board & lodgings/rent for foreigners? That along with air fares/mileage must make foreigners more expensive. Must be cheaper to use a Brit or do they price themselves out of the market?
  16. It's no good Woffy trying to help youngbBrits when clubs sign mediocre or worse foreigners . ALL clubs should have to track British riders at reserve.
  17. Thought Russell was in charge of track prep for Sky meetings?
  18. How dire was that. Anyone whose interest was sparked watching the SEC on Saturday would have tuned into this and thought it was a different sport.
  19. Thanks a lot. I should be safe then
  20. Apologies if this has been asked before but the dates for the Play Off Semis and Final seem to be a well kept secret. Does anyone know when they are scheduled please. Trying to book a holiday and don't want a family war if I book it to clash with the play offs.
  21. Technically at 17 years of age he is a juvenile
