Swc Final 2015
mdmc82 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Good luck to Denmark. I hope Bjerre proves me wrong -
I don't think any meeting should be declared after 10 heats. However the weather was no way near as bad against lakeside. It was light drizzle for most of it and still good race times with light rain coming nearer the latter heats. We have seen many teams race in those conditions Against Poole it was gale force winds and heavy rain from the start. The worst conditions I have seen speedway raced it. The race times were 6 seconds slower and no visability.

Might have been better putting him on a bike depending on which Bjerre turns up -
Edinburgh Vs Glasgow, Friday, 12th June 2015

Brilliant away win for Glasgow tonight. Great result esp without Morris & using RR -
Who?

Listen to the riders to start with. Stop banning them from riding in international meetings such as pairs and SEC so that they can get more international experience. Support development and training schools
-
The BSPA are becoming a joke. Coventry trying to take a stand and now Tai. Something needs to be done.
-
Congratulations Poland. Great effort from Team GB in both meetings. No disgrace in just losing out to Poland. Why are the BSPA so against SWC or supporting British riders?
-
Great to see a ref finally take dangerous riding seriously. Personally think Morris deserved the same Monday against Lambert. A rider shouldn't have to fall for it to be a exclusion. Great for team GB but still think Poland will win this as their riders are winning races, on this track we are relying a lot on Woffy. With the rest of the team not having much experience on this track he doesn't have a lot of back up.
-
Agree as love watching him race, however not sure this track would suit him as he likes dirt. Love watching Nicholls race.
-
Track is super slick which at the moment means gate or slide. Not producing much excitement so far. Hope it's better for the final.
-
Think it may have been his bike making the worrying sound as he looked down at it whilst leading in lap 2 and seemed to lose speed. Hopefully he can get it sorted for the next race.
-
Brilliant win for Lambert in heat 3 The track looks very slick, hopefully this will change as the meeting continues so it can produce some racing.

Thanks. I was just wondering if it meant Hans would be missing for the bees the evening before, meaning a 6pt PL guest. Line up looks really good

Arya if I was you I would stop now before you make yourself look any worse than you already have. Yes you support Poole but if you take off your rose tinted glasses then even you must see that what happened Monday was wrong and had a huge financial effect on Coventry Speedway. Imagine if it had been the other way round, I'm sure then you would have been infuriated. To make up silly sums of how much they made or pay for stadiums etc when you really have no idea just makes you look silly

Is there usually a practice for this meeting?
-
He was terrible last year wasn't he. Maybe he needed to rehydrate 😂 If Ward's Performance in the World Cup last year is anything to go by then it would have been advantage team GB
-
I would keep the same 4 as think they did a good job. Let's not forget that Australia's team was made up of 3 GP riders and all 4 riders are heat leaders in the EL yet Team GB kept it very close and that was with an exclusion. Harris & Tai were both brilliant, king had a good meeting and can gate which will help. Lambert let the nerves get to him a bit which reflected in his score but he is 17years old and this is his first time riding for his country on his home track, huge pressure. I think these 4 riders all deserve their place in the race off on Thursday. Poland of course are clear favourites.

Wow Arya, what do you do for a living for you to think £10,000 isn't a lot of money as to most of us is a huge amount. Not sure where you got that they would have made that kind of money either when there was only around 100 people at the most and some could have been season ticket holders or young fans that don't pay to get in. Then you have to take out the cost of stadium, points etc (how do you know how much that adds up to?) I don't think it's the voice of reason that needs to apply some common sense. As for teams moaning about money lost, wasn't it your team that called off a meeting when they had only Shamak missing as they said it would affect the crowd and cause financial loss 😉
-
Good unbiased post. Terrible that a team are made to race a meeting and then lose so much money which has a huge impact on the club
-
In gale force winds and heavy rain, I think even if it had been £5 most would have stayed home rather than go to what looked most likely to be a rain off and not be a full meeting.
-
No but losing £10,000 due to that farce can't be easy
