If you read back through this thread I think you will read that you are wrong about nobody felt they were watching anything untoward

The BSPA won't allow Brits to race in it which is part of the reason behind Nicholls dispute with them. How are British riders meant to get the experience of tracks abroad is stopped from riding in these kind of events.

I agree. Yes Kent were unfortunate and rode well. However over the meeting as a whole I was most impressed with Birmingham. I was disappointed that Coventry lost the run off for the trophy but Birmingham were the better team during the meeting so no complaints here. 👍🏻

Brilliant looking line up, looks more like a GP. No stand out favourites for me as all good riders. Let's hope the track produces a good safe meeting

Lol good point

Interesting words from Pearsen @nigelpearson: Feel Belle Vue are almost certain to make the Elite League #Speedway play-offs after their win at Swindon. Good way to move to new stadium.

He most likely won't be at number one next month so hopefully should score big points as a 2nd string. More pressure on Harris, JK or King though as one of those would have to ride at No 1. -
I do think losing Rory was a huge blow for King's Lynn as he was worth more points each meeting than his average suggested. I do think it's sad that Schlein guested for most teams and was often a match winner for them (was the difference when guesting for Poole at Brandon unfortunately) but yet there seems to be a lack of riders available or willing to guest in place of him for King's Lynn.

Leicester had a strong pick in the draft in Auty who has ridden in the top 5 of teams and had lots of EL experience so not really sure comments can be made about other teams running riders in reserve spots that should be in the main body of the team. Auty was one of the best reserves in the EL at the start of the season and was at one point top of the draft list until he dipped in form. Havelock puts a lot of time and effort in with both of our reserves and offers advise and that really showed last year as the season progressed. The biggest problem with the draft list is when a rider gets injured. Sarjeant is the best rider in tier 2 and we were lucky Bates was available last night, but last time he was missing we had to use Connor Mountain & Darryl Ritchings who are at the bottom of the list due to no riders being available. Sadly it looks like we could end up in a similar situation Monday. Leicester had the same problem with Auty last night with their being no like for like replacements for him due to lack of availability. -
I think your being a bit unfair to Lakeside. Were they not using a FDR in place of Lawson who is in great form again? To quote you "if you can't beat a 3 man team" makes it sound like you had team of guests or riders having to withdraw from meeting. Lakeside rode against 6 King's Lynn riders including a GP rider in NKI, 2 World Cup winners and one of the strongest FDR in the league. Lakeside were just better on the night and deserved their win so why should the club and their fans not been celebrating esp after the run of results or poor luck they have also had.
-
Not sure why there's so much confusion about the guest last night. Sarjeant wasn't missing through injury for Glasgow last night, he was missing due to EL priorities (he was missing for Coventry through injury as that is where he would have been) If a gentlemen's agreement had been made between the two promoters then yes it is morally wrong but not illegal with regards to the rule books.

Oh I would if he was bad week after week but I think all riders are allowed a couple of off meeting. They are human. Did worry me for a bit though Kingbee when our top 2 were not scoring but luckily we got the win with the rest stepping up. Don't even joke about it SCB 😁 He would be one of the last riders I would want at Coventry esp in play offs and have a feeling we are one of the last teams he would want to come to. -

Heard in the stands from somebody who spoke to his sister that his arm is sore & still quite swollen so he did well to ride tonight. He had a lot of bike problems including the engine failure which was annoying. Think he might be trying out too many things but as always can't fault his effort. -

Good to get the 3 points but at times we did make hard work of it. The meeting was closer than the score reflects. The track was a bit gate & go to begin with but got better as the meeting went on. Brilliant again from King and Garrity with JK coming good after early bike problems. Credit to Leicester who rode really well. Zengi & Ulrich were great guests as was Bates for the bees. Doyle was gating and gone he was that fast with only Joonas able to catch him. Walasek seems to ride our track again better than his own (hope we remember that if need a guest😄) Hans looked gutted with himself in the pits. He was winning the race after a good pass before Zengota fell but couldn't find the same answer in the rerun. Hope he can get things sorted though as seems to have no speed. Robson fought hard for every point tonight. His scores don't reflect the effort he put in and I think that was the reason he got heat 15 (which did surprise a few) Zengi got a great reception from the bees fans. When he came down even though riding for the opposing side their was a gasp in the stands of concern and then the fans applauded him for the whole of his walk back to the pits. Would have him back anytime. Some great friendly banter where we were sat between both sets of fans. 👍🏻 -
When guesting Ward's average would be too high for either Holder or Magic. Holder would need a huge increase. With regards to the question about Matt Ford and Swindon, have you forgot agent Pedersen, Watt & at times KK? IF Poole & Swindon meet in the play offs then what would be to stop Ward having a "off" meeting to help Middlo & Co? If he could get his average below 7 for next season then imagine the team Poole could have. Big risk to take by Rosco
-
Is that for definite that is average is below 7?

I agree about Masters and Auty (although Hall capable of scoring well) However after watching both riders against each other in the NL and Leicester in Mid Bowl, I think Greenwood is better than Lambert on his Home track. -
With teams only allowed 2 riders over 7 when redeclaring, if Batchelor isn't under 7 now then surely he would be the rider to go as can't see Rosco releasing Morris. This would still mean being a heatleader short though and having to bring in another rider under 7pts instead (Was hoping Zengi would be released so we could hopefully have him back at Coventry 😉)

Maybe we could have Zengi back at Coventry in place of Robson 😉

Leicester have improved at home lately since the inclusion of Masters. Worrall & Cook very strong around there I think this could go either way. Another 4pts here would be great for Belle Vue's play off chances. -

Good weather for speedway. Overcast but dry all day. Still warm. I think looking at the strengthened Leicester team and the recent form of Hans, Robbo & the absence of Sarjeant, this meeting could be close. -
Match fixing is very serious and if Swindon have deliberately lost to drop their averages and all of a sudden Ward is in the team then I doubt the BSPA would do anything. Average manipulation can also have big risks though, not only of missing out on top 4 but if a rider gets injured and they have dropped their average it's then going to be harder to get a guest.
