Can maybe understand sky but why have king's Lynn already called it off based on a ever changing forecast?

Adam injured his wrist riding for his PL club

This Leicester side looked good against Sheffield home & away.

Garrity rode well last night beating Kylmakorpi, Masters, Thorssell & Bech. He scored more than his average and still can improve. Kacper has been riding to his average and more. Can't fault his effort but Horton messed up signing a 4pt rider in the main body of the team. As a squad member he would be great. King would be ok if we could bring in a rider with a higher average so that he was a 2nd string instead of a heatleader.

He got up so the race could continue and pulled in to the centre as couldn't continue round as hurt his hand.

Leicester V Lakeside 2nd April
mdmc82 replied to ellioth4's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Leicester have one of the strongest reserve pairings in the league as well -
Taken from Twitter: Kaspazak went to the funeral of a close family member in the morning, flew in in the afternoon & mad dash to Brandon. No one would have complained if he didn't ride in the circumstances but he made the effort & was unlucky on the night. He has shown more commitment so far this season than in the past.

I agree with muffinman. It's okay Horton blaming it on the riders underperforming but a lot of them are riding to their average or how you would have expected them to. It's the fact he built a team so far under the point limit & signed 2 reserve riders who are lower down their tiers. When you look at the meetings so far & averages: KASPAZAK (7.91) scores so far 12,10,4 Last night he had bike problems but when on the right equipment he is capable of beating most riders. I have been impressed with him so far in 1st two meetings. GARRITY (5.08) scores so far 3,3,2,5,7 He could have been scoring big at reserve but he can't be added to list now. He's had a lot of problems with his bikes but recorded a better score last night. I think he will be very up and down in main team. Unpredictable at moment. KING (6.48) scores so far 6,2,12,5,5 The problem is he should never have been on the heatleader list to start with. He spent most of last year as a 2nd string. When on form he can be brilliant to watch at home but so up and down. I think he would be fine as our 2nd string if another heatleader is brought in May. He's going to struggle as a heatleader esp away. He got his 6pt average as a 2nd string for most part. WORYNA (4.00) scores so far 7,5,4,3,5 Kacper has ridden a lot better than I thought he would and has scored his average or above in most meetings. He has potential. The problem is Horton has signed a 4pt rider as a 2nd string when some of the reserves have higher averages. He should have been signed as our 8th rider to get experience if others were missing. HARRIS (7.34) score so far 13,9,13,7,10 The scores say it all. I've no concerns about Harris. He's allowed an off meeting now and then but for most part is scoring way above his average. BATES (3.26) scores so far 3,7,4,7 Bates is giving 100% for bees but I don't think he is strong enough as a 1st reserve & was surprised he was on the list. He has extra pressure on him due to Sarjeant struggling. He's proven he can beat some of the top reserves but a worry away from Brandon. SARJEANT (3.00) scores so far 2,4,4 James is one of my biggest concerns. He looks off pace and low on confidence for most of the meeting and is being beaten by 2nd reserves that he has the ability to beat. Then he comes out in heat 12 and beats Newman, Auty, Ellis & Starke. He's baffling. Frustrating as he has shown in the past he's a good rider but seems to be going backwards. So out of the team Horton put together it's only Sarjeant and to a point King who I think are underperforming based on ability. The biggest let down was Horton when putting the team together and being so far under the point limit.
-
Exactly. They should have signed Joonas as our heatleader & then added King in May when heatleader list was no longer used. Still not sure how Buzz & King can both have same average and yet only one is on the heatleader list.

I thought the crowd was ok esp considering the fans didn't know if we would be racing with one reserve or not. Can't see that being the case for long though without changes.

Official Buildbase Coventry Speedway Website Home Latest News Fixtures/Statistics Club Admission Riders Corporate Fans History Gallery FRIDAY REACTION: MICK HORTON Saturday April 02, 2016 COVENTRY promoter Mick Horton issued an apology to supporters following Fridays 38-52 home defeat at the hands of local rivals Wolverhampton. The loss completed a troubled two days for the Buildbase Bees, who also went down by a 20-point margin at Swindon on Thursday, and the result leaves them with just a win over Leicester to show for their opening three Elite League matches, ahead of a trip to Kings Lynn on Monday. Horton said: I want to apologise to the fans, and say that I take full responsibility for the performances, which are totally unacceptable. The fans have come out in force in cold weather, and what weve dished up so far isnt good enough. Im not singling riders out, the riders are disappointed themselves, and its clear weve been found wanting in various areas. No rider goes out to under-perform, and our riders as disappointed as the fans and the management are. I built this team, so I take responsibility for it, and clearly at the moment we arent up to scratch. I know that the Coventry Speedway fans are intelligent speedway fans, they understand the sport, and they will be aware that changes are very, very difficult to make at this stage nigh-on impossible in fact until May 1. But we all know its a results business, and that the fans deserve better. The support is fantastic, we really appreciate the loyalty, and thats really been the only bright spark over the last couple of nights so please dont give up on us. View Full Site

We only have 4 more meetings before May 1st (unless rained off) and that's home & away against Poole & King's Lynn. Hopefully we can get something at home against King's Lynn and then we would still have 20 meetings left with the new team.
-
Have to only have 3 riders off the heatleader list until May then you can sign who you like. So yes could make Woryna number 8 and bring in Larsen or Zengota.
-
The problem is where do you start? The problem with weakness at reserve is there all season now as Garrity didn't want to start at reserve. Needed Bates or Sarjeant. It wouldn't be so bad if they had a strong top 5 to support them but they haven't. King is great as a 2nd string but often struggles as a heat leader. We needed a strong number 4 who had a higher average so they could ride as a heatleader instead. Kacper has potential but would have been better as our number 8 as weakens us having him & Garrity in the team when both are really number 2s. If Garrity had started at reserve then we could have had another DU rider in main team like Summers. Shame we didn't have Klymakorpi back as he was great esp at home. I'm not convinced Horton will make changes
-
Congratulations to Wolves who deserved their win tonight. They look strong. Wish we still had Kylmakorpi with the bees, was one of our best riders last year. Still not sure how Howarth is on the reserve list. Kaspazak started well but then had bike problems all night, surely he must have a 2nd bike. Hard to have a meeting with one reserve but that's still no excuse. Bates tried hard. Not many positives to take from tonight. Better night from Garrity who beat some of the top 5, imagine what he could have done though if at reserve and able to be brought in to races to replace those having a off night. Kacper gives 100% and would have been great as a no2 with 4 other riders to support him in main body. Other than a couple of races, the meeting was a bit flat and no enough dirt on the track. Horton has got the team building all wrong. Without changes, the only thing we are going to be challenging for is the wooden spoon. It's the way the team is built. Looked weak on paper before the season even started. We should have kept JK. Also should have had Bates or Sarj but not both.
-
A couple of people I work with have decided not to go tonight as can see it being a shambles already. They are going in to town instead. Terrible start to what could be our last season 👎🏻
-
Coventry could be going in to this meeting with either one reserve (like we did against king's Lynn) or a rider at bottom of draft. Shambles already
-
I'm not sure how good the draft is anyway when wasn't it meant to help British riders gain experience yet we have Newman, Auty & Howarth in it who have been riding in the EL for years! Think if they are going to have those kind of riders in it then they need to make it more balanced. If Howarth is in it then add riders like Barker, Robson & R Worrall not last year's tier 2 riders to make up the numbers
-
Great that Ipswich can announce he's missing but our own management can't. Remember this happening before and it being because they were struggling to find a guest from the list & we went with one reserve. Only 3rd meeting of the season and already it's a shambles.
-
Still no word on Sarjeant. Is this going to be like the Swindon meeting where we found out which NL guest we had once it was about to start?

Kings Lynn Stars V Belle Vue Aces 31/3
mdmc82 replied to semion's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I wouldn't judge King's Lynn too much on last night. Belle Vue look very strong & look likely to beat most teams. -
I think this looks the best team Wolves have had in a while and am surprised in table predictions, people have rated them so low. Think on paper they have a good 1-5 if they ride to ability but their main trump card is Howarth at reserve who is too strong to be on the draft. He should clean up at reserve against most teams. Looks like Sarjeant could be missing again so most likely another NL guest. Sadly I predict an away win for Wolves. The way our team is built is all wrong. Shame after the good teams we have had the last 2 years & with this looking likely to be our last year.

Swindon Robin's V Coventry Bees 31st March
mdmc82 replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Agree. Wonder if we will make a change come May. Thing is I can't see it happening as they def wouldn't replace Garrity (not that I would want them to) and can't see them replacing Woryna who has potential at Brandon but needed one or the other. Still not convinced by reserve pairing who are going to struggle tomorrow against Howarth. -
Swindon Robin's V Coventry Bees 31st March

Harris & Hans both saying the track was very slick. I think a few teams will make changes come May when the heatleader list no long applies
