Don't see there is much options for many changes. It 's been well chronicled that top riders don't want the heavy schedule of the Elite League, so any inclusion has to come from the riders that are left, and haven't been named. It will be no surprise to see Rory, Posing and Kenneth back in 2016 to join up with Lambert, Kerr and Rose.. My guess for the one replacement could be Batchelor . He has always expressed how he favours our track, He still retains the local sponsorship from Roger Warnes, I appreciate there's not many supporters who like him, but he has ability......Once he gets his head in gear he could fill the gap honourably. ..... The choices are few.....

Of the few teams that have completed their line-up, This one from Belle Vue has to start out as one of the strongest. Well done to the promoters for retaining most of last years riders, something that has been missing in recent years . Fans like nothing more than a continuation of riders, to relate with. Obviously Lady luck will play her part, but barring any unforeseen problems, Belle Vue should be there or thereabouts.....
-
Obviously a difference of opinions. I think you are expecting too much. Collectively Freddie, Joonas and Bech will score similar to other teams HL trios. You may well say, you lose most Ht 15 and feel justified. but you might be surprised..... Freddie was poor last year, but he still is a quality rider, one most teams would love to have . All you need is for Freddie to hit some previous form, in now what is a weakened league, and you'll be laughing. There'll be more team weaker than you than those that are stronger. Like I say a solid all round team.....
-
Considering the weakened state of this Elite league, I think this Wolves team is pretty good and will hold their own in 2016. 3 solid HL's 2 good 2nd Strings and 2 decent reserves is a good all round team. Quite a few have improvements in them, none more so than Fast Freddie. Joonas is a capable and reliable rider, whereas Bech will become special. Masters and Thorsell are above average and the reserves will hold their own. Don't understand the problems with some of you fans. They'll win more matches than they lose........... Easy, Play off contenders................
-
I am in no doubt that Lambert can push on this year to become a true Heat Leader, possibly, even a No 1. How far he can progress is down to him..... He's well capable of winning any race......at any time

It sure is...... Every club and supporter in the land is finding this perpetual droll very tiresome...... Its all but killed my interest. Never thought I could feel this way about a sport I've followed for years.... But the consistent inefficiency, of the BSPA, to govern in a clear and fair manner, has just about destroyed everything the sport stood for. All we have left now is comments like the above, from people who haven't got a clue about the damages being done, as long as their beloved team are able rule the roost. For God Sake Man....... Open your eyes and see the real world..........
-
As an Professional Project Engineer it was always expected of me to think logically. When there is a problem you find the cause of it. It is quite clear, from the statement above, the BSPA are aware of the problem caused by the race format, in that it creates distorted averages. But instead of dealing with the cause of the problem, they decide to compound it further by making more concessions to counteract it. Amazing..... It would be like making a tray to catch leaking water rather than mending the leak........... EVENTUALLY, the tray becomes full and is deemed as useless........ And that's the same with this sport, When they decide to do something about it, all the fans will have gone...... ( all those except Poole that is !!! )
-
All this confusion, arguments and disagreements, is all the fault of the BSPA and their secret lists. Are they that paranoia of the problems they cause or what.... This sport wants harmony, excitement, anticipation, and above all fairness. We don't want the matches decided by deception or rule bending, or rules set to dubious scenarios, This attitude from the promoters is just driving fans away. and who can blame them........ Surely the Promoters can see the problems they're ideas are causing............. They can't be that thick

Play Offs Should They Be Scrapped.?
g13webb replied to stratton's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Posters and their assumptions. When I mentioned the credibility of the sport, I was referring to the only competitive meetings we have left, the League Program. By turning that into a end of season 4 team tournament , just to appease the money men, to me is wrong. The sport can have BOTH. By rewarding the league winners as rightful Champions, and utilising the old KO Cup as an end of the season Champion's Cup. We would have the same amount of matches, Same amount of interest, and the same amount of crowd appeal. That way, you wont destroy the season long slog for the riders and fans, just for sake of a bit of Bling at the end. -
Play Offs Should They Be Scrapped.?

Listen, if it wasn't for us 'Coffin Dodgers' the sport would have died years ago.... There's not many, who attended more meetings than I over the last 20 years. Have huge respect for Barry Hearn and what he has achieved, but he would never be allowed to turn our sport into the modern times because the BSPA wouldn't want him too. The problems with Speedway has nothing to do with Coffin Dodgers, and I resent the implications. IF the sport was more creditable, and all the Promoters thought of the sport first, probably then they could entice more people to attain. But while they think only of themselves, they continue to complicate the rules and belittle the important of bread and butter leagues matches the 'Micky Mouse' existence will continue..... -
Play Offs Should They Be Scrapped.?
g13webb replied to stratton's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Play-off's has nothing to do with Logic, they have nothing to do with what's best for the sport, It doesn't matter who is the best, or what they deserve..... they don't even think about the Fans or the Riders. The ONLY reason why we have play-offs is MONEY. End of.... -
I have no doubt, using the race format from last year, Garrity will have little trouble scoring decent points. He will still have races against the reserves... Who knows, he could be a heatleader come May
-
Nobody would doubt Chris's ability, but what we saw last year was not the rider we all know and respect. It is quite obvious all his injuries had taken its toll, coupled too that the unfortunate accident to his buddy left Chris with a lot of mental pressures. Having a decent break this winter, could rekindle his appetite, but probably he need to re-access what's important to him. Going back to Poole might not be a good idea. Cutting back on his work load might be the answer. Its something that only he knows what's best..... Whatever he decides, I wish him well, and hope we see again, the rider that only a few years back was top of the world.....
-
Apparently so !!!!.

There's none so blind, than those who don't want to see.......
-
Its not about being it benefitting Coventry, or Poole or say Wolves, Its about the creditability of League racing and trying to project the sport. If it is perceived by Joe Public as a mockery, the chances of him ever wanting to attend in person is nil. Trying to explain to my 8 yr old grandson why reserve riders have a better average than the top heatleaders, sums up the pathetic situation that now exists.....
-
If that was the case then that looks bad on Niels for making them think he was signing. Personally, I cant imagine it came as a big surprise. We all hoped he would sign, but was aware nothing was definite. Surely they had other irons in the fire. I appreciate what you say about Press Officer, but it wouldn't be too much too ask for a few comments in the EDP. Even if the team, has still to be finalised, a little indication of what is going on, wouldn't go a miss.

We have learnt more from the posters who attended the Wolves talk-in last night about the coming season than all the mis-worded statements the BSPA have issued. For those who posted, a BIG ThanK U.

SCB: It would be nice if someone at the Speedway Star pointed out the madness of it all! Why do they need a letter?! I would be nice for anybody from the BSPA to answer some of these issues....
-
You couldn't make this up..... Quite honestly you have to question the sanity of them all. Aside from Buster promotion, I cannot see one positive that the AGM has done for the sport. Talk about dis-array..... Issue 1; Because we have had protected heat format for two years now, How can you compare CMA when selecting Heatleaders ?? How many people is on the list that wont find a team position.?? issue 2; Why is the HL list such a big secret?? Issue 3; If the draft rider is to be subjected to the same race format again, then why use the PL averages to position them on the selection list. Issue 4; Now we are told the draft riders can go into the 1-5 on the CMA score. Using the same protected format, then surely the Second Strings will continue their elevated position, and the sub- quality of HL could find themselves in the reserve berths. issue 5 Why should a Draft rider on a reduced contract want to be classed in the 1-5??. Surely that would deserve more financial reward?? That would defeat the whole idea of cheap team places.. Issue 6; Why do you drive most of the top points scorers away, yet have a big points limit for team building purposes I am of the impression that each of the decisions are made on a whim with no pre-thought of the consequences. Some of these issues are as extreme as you could ever imagine. The existing relationship between BSPA and the fans must be at an all time low, It seems that the BSPA regard us as the enemy, whereas we should be singing from the same Hymn Sheet. Reading the forum, like I do, I see some wonderful and straight forward ideas and opinions. Most of these are common sense any way. Instead of the BSPA thinking they are the bosses and we are mere mortals, I suggest they too read these posts to help them get this sport back to some sort of level footing. In most sports, 'Common Sense' usually prevails in the end, but in British Speedway, I'm not so sure.....

And your attitude make me rock....... It appears Bomber and KK rate him and recommend him as a good bet. To me that says, he deserves a chance. You may well get on your high horse with your bias attitude, but in all honesty you know no more than the rest of us.... NB.. That offer about signing for Lynn, could be on the cards. We don't seem to have much going for us at the moment.....
-
Some people are too quick to cast opinions before they even see the man ride. I say give the chap a chance, before you judge him as useless......
-
There not the riders available for whole scale changes, and those that are available aren't any better than the riders we had. Don't see how we can be considered as forerunners when we have so many riders with questions beside their name. Once the season gets underway and some of those questions gets answered, probably then we'll be able to see what strength we have and the likelihood of being competitive. Until then its a big unknown......
-
Why is that ??.... We're looking someone for Niels replacement, Unfortunately Thorsell is not that rider. Most of the others should retain their place.....
