  1. Once you hear that Niels did 98 meetings last year, it was obvious something had to give. I was hoping it would be the Swedish league he missed but realistically it's bound to be the BEL. What a pity the BSPA don't listen to riders like Niels and Woffy. It was always said that 36 meetings was too many and riding everyday, like we do, will only drive all the top boys away..... For what quality there is left, probably be best to run a North and South Premier League
  2. Under the new ideas this year, where the draft can/will be promoted into the team on their CMA scores, probably Jason feels that the money from the extra rides he gained in the Draft will dry up and he could be out of pocket. Probably he is the only rider thinking about this. It will make a massive difference to the draft's earning potential Are we to believe the main reason of implementing the Draft system is now forgotten and we have experimented for nothing...... Yet again another IDEA the BSPA have drummed up without thinking it all the way through....
  3. You're just coming out with the usual b/s without knowing the facts; Pot - Kettle !!!!!!! As with other clubs, we don't have no problem with Poole protecting Newman, its the false selection process that follows when going for the Tier 2 rider. I think you'll find Poole had the second choice instead of the 8th...... By the time Lynn choose, Ellis was long gone....
  4. The crux of all the arguments about the selection process is the false position of the riders. Had Newman been positioned in his rightful place, then Poole would not have had the opportunity to select Ellis even with his fictitious score. Since the introduction of Draft riders, the quality of such has a massive bearing on the outcome of all matches and the final league positions. For anyteam to stand any chance of success, they need top riders in the draft positions. That's why it is so unfair, that Poole are given this preferential treatment.
  5. Also, never let the facts get in the way of a good story. Makes a wonderful opportunity for comment like the above..... The idea of the 'Draft system' was first introduced as a leveller, where the lowest place team gets first choice, giving them the opportunity to straighten their side. The strongest team always gets the last pick. But the BSPA take on this, is to allow the top team to have first choice........ You couldn't make it up....... Surely even the die-hard fans of Poole can see this is totally wrong...... Probably not............
  6. It was heartening to hear Buster talking about his new appointment last night. when ask what are his intentions for the future. He replied, 'I want to bring Honesty and Integrity to the table, but most of all I want there to be a connection with the fans.' ( To me that sentence speaks volumes, If he intend to bring these to the table then obviously they're not there at present........ The mind boggles) There are no air and graces with this man, he says it like it is. and that wonderful to see. I am in no doubt he will be a big success and make a big impression........ No doubt the deception of the draft selection process will become a distance memory.....
  7. I don't see many changes happening. True, only the reserves were officially announced and Porsing was in attendance. But when I asked Niels about next year, he just smiled and said, ,wait and see' or it could have been 'we'll see', but it was all in a happy atmosphere, one that suggests he would be part of the Stars future... I am in no doubts, Niels will be riding for Lynn Next year......
  8. Its not about being obsessed, it about being pissed off that Poole always benefits from every decision. Can you imagine the commotion Poole would make if, say Coventry , or Swindon or even Lynn was to benefits from some twisted idea that bore no relevance to reality. There are many words to describe how fellow supporters feel: Cheated, Unfair, Suspicious, Pissed off, had enough, cant be bothered, sod the sport... the list goes on. But what is fact, is that it does the sport more harm than good. People are so fed up with it they pack up going..... But don't you worry about a little thing like that........
  9. In an ideal world, we could have specific race nights and Squad team systems as well. Pick the usual team of 1 to 7, and then have 3 extra riders to use when required. An extra Heatleader , A extra Second string, and a stand-in reserve all of similar ability of the permanent team riders. People will point to the extra cost for the promoters, but I sure on a 'pay on required' basis wouldn't be much more. There must be loads of riders willing to do a few extra meetings when required. Least that way, most injuries would be covered. These replacement riders are only used in cases of Injuries or International Duties The fans would know their teams and replacements, the pressure of team availability would be far easier when re-arranging fixtures, and there would be more continuality on a weekly basis.
  10. Well done to our New Chairman, only been in the job a short while and already shown his forth right views..... A lot of people thinking only about attracting top stars, are jumping to the wrong conclusion here. Having specific race night helps everyone. It would benefit the fans, it would benefit the TV, it would benefit the promoters. How many riders, racing here, also ride abroad? How many riders race here in 2 or 3 leagues?? , all these riders would benefit from fixed race nights. having riders missing, would be a thing from the past. Our sport need structure. The EL ; PL and NL should be governed with one set of rules and not as 3 individual groups..........
  11. What, all 150 of them ?????? No, you have that all wrong. Niels has made no secret that he wanted the Elite League to run on specific nights to enable him to plan his calendar more easily, but he has always expressed how much he likes riding for Lynn. Unlike Woffy, Niels wants to ride in the UK and will continue while it is at all possible. Just a pity the promoters didn't rule as such, then we might have a few more top riders competing........
  12. Can't believe he has been booked to meet his fans on Friday, if there was any chance he would not be riding. True!! only an assumption , but thinking of it logically, its only a matter of time before he is announced....
  13. Of course you do, I expected nothing else. The announcement of Lynn reserves is not important , everyone knew that Poole would have the best riders. The draw is constructed for that purpose. As for Buster, it will be a brilliant appointment and no doubt he will make his mark. Although the announcement has been made, he hasn't taken over just yet, so any accreditation already earnt, will have to go elsewhere....
  14. I can't remember the last time the BSPA done something, that was thought to be good. Every decision is either, clouded with conspiracy, open to deception or underhanded at best. This practice is always done to allow those in charge, the freedom to do what they want, when they want to.....but never for the sake of the sport. The contempt shown for the fans is not important. It is amazing how complicated, a simple sport can be. Until they appreciate the importance of being open and honest with the fans, the divide will continue, until there is no one left to deceive........
  15. First I would like to congratulate Buster on his appointment, a brilliant ( bias) choice, and secondly to say, Hope he can sort this bloody mess out. Why is it some teams have announced the reserves already and others are still waiting news. Surely with this sort of thing, BSPA should announce news of all teams at the same time.....
  16. The majority of riders in the draft scheme rode in the BEL last year and have a legitimate CMA. For those who only rode in the PL could have their Pl score calculated as such to gear them appropriately. Why alter the TRUE scores of a vast percentage of the riders just to accommodate a few new ones. To alter 95% of the riders scores, just to accommodate 5% of new riders is so ridiculous . No wonder supporters are turning their backs on the sport .
  17. I find this so difficult to comprehend, the logic of this idea. What could possibly be a defining reason why the 'Draft Riders' positions are based on their PL averages. Every supporter, fan, Promoter, Management are aware of the quality of the riders involved. By using figures from another source leaves the door open for conjecture and misplacement. Would love to know the reason behind such pathetic thinking.....
  18. No doubt Poole will have first pick, again.... whoever in on the list.........
  19. If the list is not made public it will be another contemptuous way the fans are treated, What are they afraid of?? Surely it would generate a lot of added interest. Why all this cloak and dagger approach?? Why not have everything out in the open and people can be accountable. Don't they realise we all want the same thing. 95% of the remaining fans are genuine, and only want what best for the sport. Surely that counts for something........
  20. Speaking with Buster, he has said he would love to have the crowds at Speedway like he gets with Stock Cars....
  21. Letting the Promoters have a free hand is the reason our sport barely exists. The Sport needs structure. All the other countries like Poland, Sweden, Denmark, do it right yet you say we must continue with out shambled way of existence..... Lets imagine Torun or Leszno wanted to run on Tuesdays. .....Your saying that should be OK.. I bet the Polish authorities would think differently. To race in the Ekstraliga you race on Sundays only, anything else you drop down a division... That's the difference ..... You amaze me , you talk about the rights and wrongs of the sport and have strong opinions about race days and saying you don't want to see clubs folding, and then you mention that you would return to attending meeting if they did away with 'Double Points' . The 'Double Points' is a rubbish idea, but in the scale of importance in the sport it means nothing. All it does is gives a false impression of the score, so supporter can gloat or wallow in make believe. It doesn't hide the excitement of the races or have any impact on ones enjoyment. For you to use that as an excuse not to go is bewildering. The sport is desperate for all the support it can get, and you turn your back because of something so irrelevant.
  22. You're missing the point. Nobody is saying you have to fold or close your track, simply race in the league that runs on the days the track is available. No doubt, you want your cake and eat it as well by picking what league you want to race in........ It's because of this unstructured approach, why the sport is always in the decline . Why should the sport be held to ransom just because Joe Bloggs wants PL on a night that doesn't suit. ??????
  23. Would that come under the heading ' Passing the Buck'. It's not up to promoters to decide what night to run on . Its up the BSPA to control and arrange our league to be run in a correct and proper manner. Each day of the week could be afforded to a specific league. Say 2 days (Wed and Thurs) EL ; Friday, Sat and Sun for PL leaving Mon and Tues for the NL. Once that's been sorted, the Promotions pick what day and league they would like to run. No more problems with meetings clashing for double up riders and everybody would know who races on what day. No more clashes with leagues aboard which would also open the door for more top riders. Such a simple answer to a massive problem. If the BSPA was to put the sport first instead of personal preferences, this would have been sorted years ago...... Could you imagine Man utd or Chelsea saying to the FA we will only play on Thursday's ..... ..... exactly....
  24. To me, the article written by the Forum's own Philip Rising was indicative of the governing body of our sport. Amazing, these GUTLESS wonders haven't the presence to stand up for what they believe in. How can our sport survive, when these unhanded existence, is happening at the very top of the game. Not wonder our sport is in the gutter. I thank PR for this brilliant exposing article, from within. Just wished he would name and shame the people concerned,............. but understand why he can't.......
