  1. From www.oxford-speedway.com Oxford Cheetah Todd Wiltshire has completed one of the sport's most remarkable comebacks by being named in the Australian team that will contest this year's FIM ASL Freight Movements Speedway World Cup. And fellow Cheetah, Czech Ales Dryml, will cap his country in the same competition. Only the winners of the two qualifying groups will qualify directly to the final that will be held at Reading on Saturday July 22nd whilst the second and third placed countries in those groups will contest a 'race off' for the two remaining places in that final, again at Reading on Thursday 20th July. Todd has been called up to the side that will ride for the "Land Down Under" in Event 1 of the competition in Rybnik, Poland on 16th July 2006 where they will face defending champions Poland, Team GB and Finland. He adds real strength to their line-up which includes World Champion-elect Jason Crump, Swindon's Leigh Adams, Peterborough's Ryan Sullivan and Coventry's Rory Schlein who makes his World Cup debut. Teams for the meeting in Poland are: GB: Lee Richardson, Simon Stead, Chris Harris, Scott Nicholls (capt), Mark Loram. Manager: Neil Middleditch. FINLAND: Kauko Nieminen, Joonas Kylmakorpi, Kaj Laukkanen (capt), Juha Hautamaki, Tomi Reima. Manager: Yrjo Laukkanen. POLAND: Piotr Protasiewicz, Sebastian Ulamek, Janusz Kolodziej, Jaroslaw Hampel, Tomasz Gollob (capt). Manager: Szczepan Bukowski. AUSTRALIA: Ryan Sullivan, Rory Schlein, Leigh Adams (capt), Jason Crump, Todd Wiltshire. Manager: Craig Boyce. Meanwhile Ales Dryml will lead the Czech Republic side, which also includes his younger brother Lukas, into battle in the second qualifying meeting that takes place at Malilla in SWEDEN on Tuesday July 18. The two Dryml brothers are joined by the evergreen former GP rider Bo Brhel along with Josef Franc and rising star Sam Simota. Shock news is that hosts Sweden will be without former Cheetah and six-times World Champion Tony Rickardsson. Rickardsson is currently out of action on doctors' advice and manager Mats Olsson has not included him in the five-man team, with Andreas Jonsson taking over the captaincy. Teams for the meeting in Sweden are: USA: Greg Hancock (capt), Billy Janniro, Sam Ermolenko, Brent Werner, Billy Hamill. Manager: Bill Amick. SWEDEN: Antonio Lindback, Fredrik Lindgren, Andreas Jonsson (capt), Mikael Max, Peter Karlsson. Manager: Mats Olsson. CZECH REPUBLIC: Lukas Dryml, Bo Brhel, Ales Dryml (capt), Zdenek Simota, Josef Franc. Manager: Josef Lastovka. DENMARK: Nicki Pedersen (capt), Charlie Gjedde, Niels-Kristian Iversen, Hans Andersen, Bjarne Pedersen. Manager: Jan Staechmann. 2. Is this not his home league track in Sweden? Where Luxo race? Also, Lee Richardson has been the european GP wildcard in the past.
  3. We've got our tickets so some info on whether we will actually be able to see would be appreciated.
  4. Oh and as Bridger is not elligable for GP's, I assume the same applied for this.
  5. Got ours last night. Can't wait to see Gollob round there
  6. We don't need to make the final to go to Reading though. There should be absolutely no way we go out before the race-off though.
  7. I'd go for : Nicholls Stead Loram (if he chooses to ride) Bomber Richardson. Now, that's for round one. Give Richardson a chance because realistically, we are almost guarentreed a place in the race-off. If he performs, keep him in, if he doesn't, I'd bring in Danny Bird for Reading. I didn't think Zagar would cut it against the top boys at Reading but quite clearly he can, same I should imagine would apply to Danny Bird. I wouldn't use Flop in Poland if Loram will ride, but he'd be in my consideration for Reading. IF Loram does not ride in the WC, I'd use Floppy providing he had quick enough motors.
  8. He was a very tidy rider. Just the equipment we provided him with was rubbish.
  9. Who got it? He brought it for 5 quid in the peacocks sale
  10. I saw it all last year. They did put on a good show so fair play.
  11. Sod Steady, if we're going on BSFRL form I should have been in with a shout
  12. No not EVEN Lukas Dryml. He was bang out of order that afternoon but doesn't mean I resulted to thinking he was a "********" ALSO I didn't say the fact that they get paid for doing something they enjoy but you can see what having support does to riders. Just think about Floppy in world cups. Riders like him go out there to put on a show for US and he was overwhelmed with the support he was getting. "Money Can't buy that"
  13. Yes I don't particulally like riders but that doesn't mean I think they are "******" because of what they do on track. At the end of the day they are risking their lives to give us a show. I don't like Dean Barker because he's just someone I can't take to. More interested in his hair than riding. I also don't let what they do off the track cloud my judgement of their ability on it.
  14. And how many do you know well enough to make a fair judgement on?
  15. Lupus - can you not overcome your differences with team GB seeing as they are out riding for our country? Joe may have done something bad but I am sure you can say the same from someone from the Sweden team you just don't know about. I don't really like some of the people who have turned out for team GB over the years but I always support them in a Team GB racejacket (Dean Barker for Example). There are riders I like more than the British ones and I could easily have supported Denmark at the last world cup if I wasn't rather proud to be British SteveBrum - Biggest Flop? The guy is in the grand prix and made 1 more final than superstar Nicholls. scored a 15 point max for us in the world cup this year aswell as saving us from total embaresment in the final. Rico is not a gating tart, I have seen him pass plenty of people, gating is just 1 of his strong points. Jason Crump is a good gater, as is Tony Rickardsson, doesn't make them gating tarts. Richardson can make moves on riders as well as anyone but if he's made the gate, he don't need to does he?
  16. It's not just Swindon fans that are anti-wolves
  17. Because you fancy 1 of the riders ? Why not look at his a**e and support team gb at the same time ? problem solved
  18. GRRRRRRR Nothing personally aimed at superguest but this really annoys me ! How much would you be annoyed if you were riding for YOUR country and fellow country members were supporting other teams? I might not be that fond of some of the riders we have had in world cups over the years but I have supported every single one as they have been out riding for OUR country. I am of the opinion that everyone should do the same. We live in this country and brought up loving speedway at BRITISH speedway tracks, without these you wouldn't even see the foreign riders ride.
  19. should be at poole 2 absolutely quality meetings down there in 2004. Great atmosphere, good racing and good viewing. Racing at Swindon is poor, as is viewing. Would be appauled if it took place there to be honest.
  20. Me think someone has under estimated NKI He is the man for the big occasion and should score well this season.
  21. Erm... So do you actually think Scott would have beaten PK in that race ? Me thinks you need to get over it, the lads a talent + it's unjust he isn't in the g.p's. Wonder what you would say if Andersen was world number 4 and Nicki needed seeding yet was not put in.
