  1. Obviously Paul Bellamy has just published exactly what he was dictated by IMG's lawyers. It is meant to be a statement that deals with the need for him to say something, whilst actually not saying anything at all. Clearly legal action is likely to follow, in more than one direction I imagine. So that is all he can do at this stage. The two points I would raise are: 1) Does this not highlight the folly of the 'set up' we have with shared, mixed and, indeed interwoven, responsibilities. The mix of PZM, BSI, FIM and SpeedSport could now be a lawyers wet dream. 2) How are subsequent GPs to be run later in the year if the riders have the final say over the track; and yet only Ole is allowed to build it? And even one that is relatively OK gets cancelled just because no one has big enough balls to handle prima donnas. .
  2. There are going to be a lot of recriminations about the unmitigated disaster of last night. Perhaps people will be held to account. More likely they won't. But the biggest challenge right now is to try to work out what happens next. To get through the rest of the year. This year the SGP is due to have more 'Ole tracks' than ever. We are told that it is not an 'exact science'. But the mad professor is just not sufficiently proficient to get it right often enough. What the hell can they do?
  3. Thankfully, according to Phil Rising, they disallowed 185 extra media acreditations. That just leaves 200 journalists to spread the news of this around the world. Phew!
  4. This is 2015 It is 'State of the Art' Speedway. My money is on Buster Frogley and Jim Kempster.
  5. Is there an off duty policeman available. The ref needs breathylizing.
  6. They need not worry. Doubtless, it will have been quarried by Poles, transported to port by Poles, shipped by Poles and laid by Poles. It will be as Polish as anything sourced within a five mile radius of the Stadium. I cannot vouch for the polish-ness of Ole Olsen. That may be where it all goes to pot.
  7. That sounds ominous. It sounds like BSI getting their excuse in - for something. Even earlier than usual.
  8. Tormod Langli broke his arm after crashing hang gliding at Easter 1980. It is totally irrelevant. But seeing as other people are contributing nonsense. I thought I would too.
  9. If they had got within 9 metres of decent coverage on Darcy Ward. No one would have commented. PS Great issue this week. And s0d Tescos. On ipad and PC is so, so much better.
  10. So that would be a 'No' to having any stats, then? So you put forward hypothetical stats. To discuss. How about some real ones?
  11. March is ended. It is my feeling that there have been no more injuries this year in the 'March, start of season period' than any other year in my Speedway watching life. That is 40 years. Despite what other people are saying. And I know other people think differently. But can anyone produce ANY statistics to PROVE me wrong?
  12. It's a bit of a surprise to find the Archbishop of.Sunderland jumping to the defense of certain people who are, themselves, so aggressive and borderline abusive in their postings. I pray that His Grace will look upon the really worthy with more forgiveness. .
  13. So now we know. You choose your team, not to win, but on the basis that someone MIGHT get injured. You postpone meetings when it is dry just in case it MIGHT rain. I suggest we do away with the entire league as Poole MIGHT win. Let's just all give up, altogether, eh?
  14. When it comes to giving presents for the festive season. We are always being told that 'A Puppy is not just for Christmas'. Apparently some people were given just one single brain cell. And it truly did 'only last for xmas'.
  15. Thank you for that clarification. I remain a little confused as surely one of them was married to that Mrs Boswell from Liverpool but still managed to conduct orchestras in his spare time,
  16. To avoid any gustix-type confusion. Am I right in thinking that 'John Davies' is any relation to the peroxide-coiffed burger merchant John Davis?
  17. Don't worry about me. I led the life of Riley. Made full use of the London Rubber Companies fine products. And the drawer is empty. As a word of advice. When it says 'ribbed for your pleasure'. Use them inside-out.
  18. It is the subliminal nature of this form of advertising that concerns me the most. Being of a rather suggestive nature myself. I fear that come the end of April I shall find myself making a phone call to those nice people to arrange delivery of an elevator. All of my own. I have succumbed to many on-screen deals in the past and just had to pay up. So it is not the cost that worries me from making such an impulsive purchase. My real worry is that I live in a Bungalow. .
  19. Make that 4, now. It really is an infallible guide to idiocy.
  20. I'm glad that Andy and Joanne are so delighted with their association. Not so sure myself. Being known as 'Two Minute Tomlin'. Is not something that should please Him. Or, indeed, Her.
  21. Only last night I was talking with the regulars down the pub. Oh how they laughed. And mocked. Speedway! Pah! What a stupid sport. As they all expressed outrage at the plight of Jason Bunyan. Meanwhile, in Wapping a meeting of Red Top editors shelved their plans for blanket speedway coverage. 'Jason Bunyan' was the only name on their lips. Sometimes it needs a keen mind to bring the true woes of the sport into proper perspective.
  22. An excellent race from the Overseas Final at Odsal in 1985 here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTfgY8pQ-uU
  23. I'd say that wins the Gold Medal for Pedantry.
