Peterborough Panthers 2022
LagutaRacingFan replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
We don't need to be as strong as last year. We can be slightly weaker and still be dominant champions. The Panthers bar is set so high that even a small drop off would still beat the rest of the league. -

One important thing to remember is that the Panthers side accrued a lot of bonus points last year. They are on false averages. Ulrich's actual average for 2021 was 8.04, but his GSA Is only 7.17. This is because he finished 2nd behind a Panthers rider in a 5-1, only 2 points goes on his average. This is the same for the below. Hans - 7.92 average, but only 7.09 GSA Toft - 8.04 average, but only 7.17 GSA Harris - 7.71 average, but only 7.02 GSA Nicholls - 7.56 average, but only 6.71 GSA I wouldn't mind seeing Ulrich, Hans, Harris, Toft and Nicholls back as a top 5. It may not be good for the whole league though. British speedway needs to be competitive, otherwise, fans will lose interest. -

Buczkowski on a 6 point average would be a very good signing. -

Jonasson is the man we need. He's much better than a 4.18 reserve. -
Great to see Doyle remain loyal to Britsh Speedway. He's more of a Brit than Bewley, Lambert and Woffinden.

We should give Ulrich to Lynn. His average is too high for the Panthers. If he has a bad year at Lynn, we could consider him for 2023. -

I'm hearing strong rumours about Bjerre. -
Explains why Smederna are offering him so much money.
-
Chris Harris and Scott Nicholls never turned their back on British Speedway. The modern era of riders only care about money.
-
How does Swedish Speedway have so much money behind it? Crowds are not better than England.

He is the oldest and most likely to decline. Harsh but a decision needs to be made. -

1. Michael Palm Toft 2. Wilson-Dean 3. Ulrich Oostergaard 4. Hans Andersen 5. Chris Harris 6. Erik Riss 7. Jordan Palin Would that fit? I think Riss is on a false average. He has the potential to become a 7 point rider. You would then have one of Wilson-Dean or Riss at reserve all season. -

What a pointless thread. -

Batchelor is finished as a top rider. His reactions have slowed massively. -
I'd take the Panthers top 2 of Andersen and Harris over Bewley and Fricke. You can't buy experience.

When I'm on a night out in Peterborough, I wear my Panthers polo. I get a few nods of appreciation.

The British League is a lot tougher than the others. Riders want an easy pay cheque. -

You sound very bitter. The Panthers are the most dominant force in club speedway. -

Belle Vue pay more than the Panthers. They could chuck money at Palin. Similar to how they prized Charles Wright away, which turned out to be a big money mistake.
