First of all what you do at league level has little to do with what do at World chapionship level ..Adams maybe one the best league in the world but never had what it took to be a world champion unlike someone like nicki p who would miss league matches and put most of his effort into the gp's hence why ne become world champion . You said in your post what other sport could you be World champion without winning a race/round i said F1 but could have picked a number of sports or events ...asking weather someone has done before is a another question all togeher but not the one that you asked

Because you never listen you been told about 20 times that tv was not showing the world final anymore intill the Gp's came along ....the Gp is a better and a fairer system what nearly everytime give us the true World Champion .

Adams and Gollob have not been the best riders in the last decade and they have never won it because over the season they were never good enough ...you can be a world champion in f1 without winning anythink , you can BE no 1 in the world in golf and not win anythink in a year Just like Tiger Woods has . When you come to think of it there are loads of other sports when you don't have win a round to be World Champion ,plus if the people knew they had to win maybe they would have put more effort in to do so ... in Loram case he done what he had to do to become world champion .

LOL this comes from someone who liked the old system that was really fair ,miss one round and you were out , nearly all the world finals because of the stupid system to get there had 6 no hopers in them and a lot of the riders were pay off halfway into the meeting to drop points . Not sure what you point is about having old men in the Gp's the bottom line is that Gollob ,Hancock etc are still good enough to be them ....are you saying they are not in the best 16 riders in the world at this time ? The debate is about how people watch the gp's on tv ...tell me how people were watching the one off finals live on tv in the 90's ?

Tell me where was speedway when we had the last one off world final ? its was dying on it's ass, long gone had Wembley world finals and Tv etc... thou are the facts that speak for themselfs they change it because at the time people were bored stiff by it all . Same old stuff from fans who remember the glory days wanted and thinking that the old stuff will work now ...like the golden helmet, second halfs, test matches etc .

First of all i would that Sunday afternoon would be peak time to watch a football match rather that 5pm on a sat ..i am sure if next week if they started showing football at 5pm on a sat night rather than a sunday afternoon and yet again the figures would dropped by a massive amount .

And the second one there was world cup match on you forgot say about that as well amazeing If Manchester ute play at 7.30 then the figures will always be bigger than they were playing at 5pm .

Of course it is ..remember it's just a tv show ...change any program from peak time to non peak time and the % loss in viewers will be about the same . If Eastenders changes to 5pm start next week it would lose millions of viewers, i doubt there be many who would say it was not because the change of time it would be a given .

Never said it was solely responsible but it is a major factor on viewing figures ...the main thing is that the piece written fails to point out this very important point and for that reason makes it almost pointless .

When if you put Eastenders on at 5pm instead of 7.30pm there would be a drop in viewers so not sure what your point is .

A lot of it is because the change of time to 5pm ,just like any tv show that was took off peak time to tea time the figures are bound to drop . Odd that he forgot to say anythink about that .

Plenty of pl treams who have no gp riders and run on a saturday and have lost fans about the same % as Elite league who don't run at weekends . Swindon crowds are no less and are in fact bigger than when they ran on a sat night in the nineties when it was one big league .....me and host of other people i knew came back to speedway after watching the gp's on tv and it's was a massive shot in the arm from a sport that dead on it's knees at the time . Speedway crowds have going down and in decline long before the Gp come along and Speedway in the early nineties was a sorry state and not even on tv .

Of course it would make a massive diffrence the same as it would be for the Poles the other way a round .Not sure what head to head battles have to do with Brits doing better if they had more gp's .

So are you saying that Harris is better chance of doing better v Gollob and Hampel on Polish tracks than he is has on Uk tracks ? That is an amazeing statement ....not sure what Cardiff has do with anythink as that is a temp track Are repeat what i said The brits would have a better chance if there were 3 gp's on normal uk tracks rather that 3 polish one's no one has said anythink about beaten them or weather Hampel won a meeting at cov .

Not splitting hairs at all ...the Bottom line is that Holta has ridden for Norway at senior level unlke Pietersen and Trott who have never played for South Africa . Just like woffy you got a choice on what nation you want to represent at senoir level but once you made that choice you shoul not be able to turn back otherwise sport becomes a joke ....Holta made his some time ago .
