  1. A little disappointed with the fact that we have had zero information from the club so far. Is there any reason why at least the promotion hasn't come out and said which of the 2015 team is on the fabled heat leader list? ANYTHING would be better than nothing. As a fan I feel a little taken for granted to be honest. We've lost our No.1 rider and they have come out and said nothing regarding the shape of the team for 2016. There's been this vacuum when it comes to information.
  2. Still too sad about Niels not riding to post. Oh hang on! Good Luck to him, and thanks for 5 magical seasons where time and time again he has dragged us over the line. It's been a pleasure watching him race. Hopefully he'll be back : ) In the meantime, I just saw a 'Nicki Pedersen Racing' Mercedes van going around the Hardwick roundabout...
  3. Been away for a while, nice to see that nothing has changed over the past 3 or so months - the sport is still a joke and the team building rules are wrapped in a mystery. Seems like Poole have got the strongest reserve pairing which is funny as in other sports the team which finishes first gets last pick in the draft. I must have missed something, as I said I've been away for a while.
  4. Was hoping for an early call to save me wasting a 2 hour round trip and £20 in fuel. Weather update please?
  5. Some great riding by Adam Ellis last night, a smart guest booking. Walasek is riding very well at the moment, impressive at both home and away meetings this week. Should also be applauded for clearing the track in heat 15. As usual, when we get a big ht 15, the Main Dane steps up and delivers for the us. That's the difference between a good No. 1 and a World Class No. 1. Thanks Niels! As for the no victory lap, pretty sure the MDL match was ready to go at the end which is why they didn't get one. Good chips too, although the fish was lousy.
  6. Sorry! Blue skies tonight at Brandon, I'm going with my Stars Ultras and we're coming home with 4 points!
  7. How long does it take for the hospitality seats to become available?
  8. But how can you be sure that it would have bought more fans? Where is the proof? I know I'm being argumentative but the fact is it's a risk for the Promoter who relies on gate money to pay riders wages.
  9. Maybe running a speedway team is a little more 'hand to mouth' than running the WWE. Cash flow will be a consideration. Promoters are basically small business owners in most cases not multi-millionaires. To reduce the risks associated with such promotions, there should be a central body running the sport who look after all teams instead of each promoter scrapping around for themselves. e.g. If Sky give £100,000 to the Elite League for coverage. Give each team £10,000 up front but leave £20,000 in the pot which could be used to underwrite any loss in revenue from teams running promotions to boost crowd on Sky TV matches?
  10. I'm sure it's a resource issue, if people volunteered to help promote they would be welcomed with open arms. It's Buster's own money at risk if lets people in cheap on Sky meetings. It's a risk which may pay off in the long term but it could cost him too. Safer bet is to rely on your hardcore fan base to turn up week in and week out, bank that consistent revenue stream, and run a club within it's means. Let's not forget the ££££ that's been invested in facilities too. The AFA is one of the best speedway stadiums in the country now if not the best.
  11. How can you say speedway loses after a night like that?!?
  12. Some talk on social media about Milik pulling his lanyard off on purpose? Nonsense. Well done Poole on a stirring comeback and deservedly go back to Dorset with a point. Quite clear that the Stars destiny very much depends on the Bjerre enigma. All the other boys are doing their jobs. If we can hang on to the play-offs, I hope Bees pick us as I'd much rather take them on than Poole.
  13. Woah Neddy, let's get to the playoffs first. One match at a time.....
  14. Yes he'll find riding in the PL much tougher than riding as a heat leader in the EL (like he was at the start of 2015) against the likes of Doyle, Iversen, Holder, Janowski, Harris, Andersen, Bjerre, Batchelor. Gimme a break!?!?!? I agree that the gap between the PL and EL is closing, largely due to the draft system (which is not a bad thing) but it is still there. I do think the 60% ratio needs looking at though. That or the PL needs to get in line and have draft system too - you know to avoid any further Greenwood/Konopka debacles. Back to Jacob, IMO he's not quite ready to be a heat leader at EL level YET (but he will be) but he is a better than average 2nd string. He rides fast tracks like Lynn well and so i think he'll be a decent addition to Panthers and one who I look forward to seeing. Who else would Panthers fans have wanted?
  15. The meetings at Lynn versus Poole have always been the best contests of recent seasons, I cannot think of many which didn't hang in the balance come heat 13 time. Who can forget the play-off semi when Holder team-rode Wolbert home for a momentum changing 5-1 or when Niels and Magic both passed Holder and Watt for a 5-1 in heat 15 to an unlikely win for the Stars? The scenes in the pits after that race will live long in the memory : ) Brilliant meetings, and with a little bit of needle between the two teams makes it even better. Buzzing for it! Who cares if it's on Sky, Stars fans get down and support your team. C'MON THE STARS!!!
  16. I hope Darcy is there, and that Buster run's some kind of drinks promotion in his honour - it looks like being a hot one on Wednesday and it's important to keep hydrated.
  17. Just a thought, I imagine Darcy will be there on Wed, you think he will announce his new club live on Sky? Ooooh very dramatic.
  18. Stars by 8, Milik to outscore North, Niels to outscore Holder, Stars reserves to outscore their counterparts.
  19. Panthers need a new number 1. And a number 2. And a number 5. And a number 6. Thank the lord for MPT (who was brilliant) otherwise they would have been even more comprehensively beaten.
  20. I hope so! All whats needed now is the speaker system to be upgraded so you can actually hear what's being said.......... I didn't complain about the speakers whilst the other chap was on the mic which says everything. Kevin and Edwin are now the 'dream team' when it comes to presenting at the AFA.
