  1. there is a procedure in place just now for this. If the top 4 are already riding in Britain, the BSPA will look at the other applicants, which they have done on this season. Max Fricke finished 5th in 2 state championship, therefore 1st finisher outside of the 4 already in the uk. The scunny rider, finished 2nd in a state championship so qualified. The two Glasgow riders, well i have checked the speedway website's for them competing in the state championships, and can't find any mention of them in any, But hopefully im proved wrong. Yes i can understand that if they are injured they didn't ride in them, but also that doesn't prove that they would have qualified. Personally i hope that they both get work permits, but its a big gamble/cost if they turn out to be rubbish, From what i am lead to believe is that when the m/c decide on a ruling like this , they need a majority 3-2 against. hence the reason there are 5 members. So for all those who thinks it one person, think again.
  2. my guess is that this is published to all clubs, just some either ignore it. one question on this, did Glasgow submit the correct paperwork for these two ? perhaps that is why they were rejected and then Horwoods got passed so quickly after being rejected. People seem quick to put the blame on the BSPA but infact the truth may lie closer to home.
  3. This is Alex Harkess 's 4th year in charge. For someone who people claim to such a rubbish job in the sport, he seems to have the backing of other promoters as voted on a chairman for his second 3 year term. also seems to be a well respected character with a role in the FIM . I dont think this is an easy job to do, every time something doesn't go a teams way, he gets the flack. Think the reason the mc don't reply on here, is it open a can of worms (so to speak). Somethings should be kept between promotions and who's to say that glasgow's announcement on there website , was true to there word. I mean if you have made a mistake on finding out if they qualify for a work permit. Think an easy way out blame the BSPA. But then again will the truth every come out.
  4. its pretty simple the way i believe it to be , The top 4 qualify automatically for a work visa from the australian state championships. (i beleive there are several they can enter) The top 4 who did finish this year already ride in the uk. Therefore bspa the revue the applications, after these 4 only 4 others were made.. Max finished 5th in two state championships behind the 4 that already ride in the uk, so was deemed good enough for a work visa. The scunny rider finished 2nd or 3rd in a state championship. Im not sure where the two glasgow riders finished in these state championships or if the did compete in them to start with. (but im sure someone will know) Looking back to last season glasgow brought in a young "untried" aussie on a 5.00 average finished on a 3.00 (actual average 1.36) when they could have had bellego and then became ther own asset, (thats another story) lol . perhaps the BSPA were right on this ocassion , and perhaps if these 2 riders do not have the experience then maybe its history repeating its self.
