  1. With that level of cynicism Shads you're getting pretty close to the level of myself and Baldyman !
  2. I doesn't really matter when its rearranged for as far as Plymouth are concerned as they can't achieve anything in the group . I suppose they've pride at stake and earning a bit more money if they win but they called it off and the restaging should be more about when it's convenient to us , ie with a full team !
  3. Generally pretty pleased with tonight's overall performance although the skippers form must still be as much of a concern to him as to the rest of us . Shame Danny's unbeaten start to the season ended this evening but his determination to make amends for that in ht15 was clear for everyone to see . Let's now see if we can finish the job at Plymouth tomorrow to qualify for the league cup semi finals . Its a pity we have to try and achieve that with 2 guests replacing Danny and Stefan but that's the curve ball our wonderfully run sport throw's at us I'm afraid !
  4. Not much activity for this as it's tonight , the weather is good and looking forward to it . For me the rr situation for Gino and Steve Boxhall could be crucial , I see an awful lot more points coming the Witches way than Rye's from this so a reasonably comfortable home win should be on the cards . Will we see Danny's first defeat at Foxhall I wonder ? It's got to happen some time I suppose but hopefully not tonight .
  5. So a few days ago Gino was just battered and bruised with nothing broken , now he has a fractured shoulder blade . Did the secondary checkup find something the hospital missed ? Looks like 6 v 6 on Thursday now , lets hope nobody else bites the dust !
  6. There's a larger new covered disabled area there now but im sure you'll find somewhere close by to sit .
  7. Where do you sit when you come to Foxhall Shads ? Myself and the Bald one are usually found in the back straight stand dead opposite the starting gate if you wish to venture round to say hello ? Hope you're going somewhere nice and warm for your hols .
  8. A pub called the Golf is in Foxhall rd , I haven't eaten there recently but used to be ok . Also the Fish chips and mushy peas or beans for a fiver at the track is pretty good value .
  9. The teams have been posted now and we could see both Gino and Steve Boxhall or neither depending on fitness levels . The guests at reserve for Rye are Rob Branford and Alex Edberg , I've no idea of their records at Foxhall but I can't see them being better than Nico and Stefan . Hopefully we should secure a reasonable victory and give ourselves an opportunity to win the group at Plymouth on Friday .
  10. If he's booked as a guest on Friday he may well be relevant to whether we progress or not .
  11. The double up/down rule could quite clearly be our undoing in this group . Apart from Stefan being missing for one meeting the full team has pretty much got us to our current position in the league cup table and now it's gonna take guests performing well to get us to the semi finals . Just shows how farcical Speedway has become , nothing like as bad as the Warsaw GP but still a joke . Depends on who we can get whether we progress or not but in my opinion and obviously Baldymans it's ludicrous that we are in this situation .
  12. Whoever drops to reserve should still leave us with a formidable bottom two pairing compared to certainly the majority of teams in the league . I suppose we'll find out come May 1st .
  13. Do the new averages apply as of May 1st or after 4 home and 4 away meetings and do league cup matches even count ? Just wondering when Nico is likely to swap places with Ritchie with the way things are going .
  14. Going by the Witches previous record at the OTA a Rebels win by 28 is more likely than 8.
  15. At least Gino has no serious injury after his crash against the Devils last night ( according to a Mike Bacon tweet anyway) Apparently battered and bruised but nothing broken! Great to hear and i wish him well for a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back soon. All the best G-Man!
  16. It's meeting day and nobody else appears to have started a thread for this one so here goes . I would imagine that this will be another big home win for the Rebels even more so now the Witches are very likely to have to use RR for the injured Gino Manzares . Given that the Ipswich record at the OTA is as equally as bad as Somersets at Foxhall I think the group will probably be decided on how well/how many points can be scored at the away meetings . Here's hoping the Witches can at least make a match of it but im not holding my breath .
  17. More important than anything else does anybody know how Gino is ?
  18. He usually gates in at least 1 race and depending on track conditions may be difficult to pass on the white line. I'm going for 6pts, maybe 7 or 8 if he gets heat 15. I'll go for a 56-36 ish overall result give or take a couple.
  19. Anyway, back to this evening, the weather's good and the Devils have completely changed their riding order to try and get a bit more out of the team. I'd still like to think it will be a comfortable win for the Witches but will Morten think he has something to prove and spoil the party? No doubt he'll score a few but enough to make a difference, probably not. Looking forward to it.
  20. The explanation of how it works is not exactly clear on the BSPA website, should I be surprised? Not really, it is the BSPA after all, clear as the proverbial mud.
  21. The winner of each section and the best single runner up from the 3 groups goes through, so pretty much not the Witches if we don't win ours! Or am I being a tad cynical?
  22. Morten to get a max ? Maybe not , depends on if there's another line apart from the white one . I would like to think it will be a nice comfortable win , certainly enough to deny Plymouth taking anything from it . The weather should still be good , if a tad cooler than the next couple of days are supposed to be .
  23. If he did create this as a fishing exercise then yup " hook, line and sinker " as far as I'm concerned! There lies my problem, I'm too honest and forthright with my opinions and would never dream of doing the same. That's why I'm always caught.
  24. Seriously? We finally get a No1 that's capable of living up to that tag and people begin to ask if he's too good to be in the Premier league! The same could be asked about Cook whose not particularly good in the Elite league but very good in this one, a few riders out there have reached a certain standard and are not likely to improve to the World stage. It's definitely not time to be questioning who should be in the league and who shouldn't.
  25. Yes, just had a look on Google earth and could definitely see how the OTA could be awkward and a challenge for those who normally ride traditional shape tracks.
