  1. I think it's fair to say that the first meeting is always a tad unpredictable. However it's important to make a good start. Am I right in thinking though that there is only 14 meetings scheduled on a Thursday. I know we have the Saturday meetings but presumably nothing meetings won't be held any more?
  2. Yes a brave call indeed. We all know the sports ills of doubling up and given the circumstances a Huge call on ditching holiday meetings. I 've always felt that Saturday's can generate a better atmosphere and its well worth remembering that afternoon tracks are a pig to prepare. Let's hope this works and even if it doesn't a big hats off to the promotion on a bold bold move.
  3. In 2016, it might be handy if all our riders get used to our track. It may well help us reach the play offs instead of being shat two years in a row.
  4. It would be easier if we just let everyone ride for anyone. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but i seem to remember doubling up started in about 2001. Back them it was British riders only under 21. I remember at the time thinking 'that'll be a disaster' and how right I was! A MESSAGE TO ALL PROMOTERS. Sort this crap out or continue to watch your sport die!
  5. With Hawkins in charge now does this mean that the former TM could wake up with a horse's head on his pillow😅
  6. Bizzare choice for TM. Could be a shrewd move though.
  7. There hasn't been a Christmas meeting for a number of years. Presumably due to a lack of interest.
  8. Yes but the weather can be on the up in March.whereas October it can head downhill. Mind you most clubs are now finished by the first week in September.
  9. I know it's too early to say, but presumably the first meeting will be around Thursday 17th March.
  10. Just a thought but is it possible that risagers season away might just have pepped him up a bit. I'm not defending him, just saying it might be possible. Castanga looked poor in the 16 lapper but he could have been on board a crap motor. Let's just suck it and see!
  11. It'll be interesting to see how Belle Vue and Swindon fare crowd wise with new facilities.
  12. Quite right, but it is another example of a very poor marketing tool for a sport in decline.
  13. Season tickets have for the last few years offered very poor value for money. I would like to see a new pricing structure such as more for some meetings and less for others. Certainly I would say that children under a certain age would get free admission with a paying adult all season, but limit it to 1 child per paying adult. After all surely they are the next generation to attract to the sport. Perhaps also you could say buy a ticket for 3 meetings and get the 4th meeting at 50 per cent off, any thoughts?
  14. Unless they put an end to doubling up then the sport will continue to die on its arse!
  15. Spot on. Whatever we did with Covatti this year it worked. A truly exciting rider who never gives up. I think if he stays injury free he could become a witches legend. And as most of you know I am normally pessimistic.
  16. I think it's an ok team. If the top 4 click it could be awsome. If Kerr and risager fall short, then it could be a long hot summer. I hope one can safely presume that the promotion are aware not just of Kerrs fitness, but also his state of mind following such an horrific crash. If he rides at foxhall like he did for Newcastle last year, then I think we could have a season to enjoy.
  17. Could the 3 pointer be that spiller chap from Eastbourne?
  18. Quite right I agree. The problem comes when a person with very little or no experience in the sport, starts telling riders some with lots of experience, what to do. It's a bit like the owner of a football club who thinks he can manage the team, it just doesn't work.
  19. Every team we have had since 2010 has looked good on paper. Unfortunately when it comes to a number of home meetings we seem to be psychologically smashed apart by the opposition. Tactically they seem to get it right whilst we appear to make glaring errors.
  20. It's a shame those bank holiday meetings are not in the evening. I presume Suffolk coastal still don't allow meetings after 6.
  21. Ban home afternoon meetings. Sheffield at home was terrible.
  22. Given the doubling up scenarios I can unfortunately see AN Other having a record number of appearances.
  23. Top heavy I'm afraid. Having said that if the top three performed then it could be a difficult side to beat.
