  1. Unfortunately, some will require their heads to have a wobble. This team was put together in a couple of weeks through necessity. There are simply not enough riders to support British Speedway and that's a fact. At this rate the sport will have a day of reckoning if they don't listen to the likes of Richard Coleman. Mediocrity is not acceptable but the owners simply had to put together a team so deal with it.
  2. Track sounds like Cleveland Park was in about 1989!
  3. I don't care what the other promoters think. It's about they had it up them!
  4. A good solid all round performance tonight. In particular the 5 1 over Kurtz and Harris. On the subject of the track, asking a lay question. Have we spent too many years messing around with it?
  5. I can better that. Scott Nicholls riding 1 leg each for both sides in the Peterborough v Ipswich cup final in 2017.
  6. Whilst it benefits us to have Doyle and Cook missing, unfortunately once again the sport has zero credibility. So important after Richard Colemans statement last night but what will change only time will tell. However, we've been here before and you cannot blame people for being cynical.
  7. Yes, I have just watched his presentation on Facebook and quite honestly I thought it was excellent. He mentioned for my mind the most important thing about the oldest ever rider demographic in the Premiership. This is the most serious issue I believe facing British Speedway. Thinking logically, and forgot what promoters think for a minute. We have slowly been eliminating our rider base since 2003. Before long we'll have no boys to play with the toys and as Richard Coleman said we cannot have another close season like the last one. Let's hope he can sprinkle some magic dust on the BSPL meeting!
  8. Bish, bash, bosh is all I can say!
  9. It also reads that Mark Lemon is assessing their options? Well that shouldn't take long should it?
  10. Belle Vue have confirmed he won't race tommorow, but faces a spell on the sidelines, whatever that means.
  11. Mentioned before I know, but am I correct in thinking the the current freeholders are still Ipswich Speedway Ltd 1951? If it is what people are speculating how would development issues sit with East Suffolk Council? Just asking.
  12. Just for clarity, is that the same Danny King that supporters have been slating for years and said we should have got rid of because we'll never win anything?
  13. Perhaps they've brokered us a 42 points limit next year while everyone else can suffer on 37
  14. I agree, even though we won I thought it was the best race of the night, excellent team riding from both of them.
  15. I agree, but is it nervousness as the crowds are lower than last year with a weaker side. I think the expectation of fans is possibly expecting the worst and hoping for the best. 7 wins out of 9 isn't to be sniffed at but with only Belle Vue and Sheffield away to boot have we really been tested yet? I think we are solid but quite honestly I don't know the answer.
  16. Apart from when they bashed us in the KO cup at Foxhall 53 -37. Lance King with a 15 maximum. Paulo Salvetelli with 4 doughnuts that night! Ah those were the days!
  17. That's nothing Iain, I believe in 1988 we faced Kings Lynn home and away 14 times! Mind you, i believe there was 10 teams in the British League that year.
  18. Careless words and all that! Isn't that what they used to say?
  19. I know it's the wrong thread, but I'm currently at the NORA meeting Mildenhall v Norwich. 15 quid to get in and 12 heats completed in just over 1 hour. Around 400 here I reckon and not bad. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but it's not bad and has to be looked at as a way forward.
  20. I believe it was spoken about a few years ago. Obviously Spedeworth run the stadium but I believe the owners are still the original Ipswich Speedway from 1951. The stands I think came from the London Olympics. I believe the capacity is around 12000, and I'm pretty sure it will be packed in a few weeks for the Hot Rod final. As for improvements, it's a lot better than a few years ago but as with everything it's a numbers game.
  21. I think Mayfield have saved us and the league. For which we should all be grateful. Unfortunately, the speedway authorities are just delaying the inevitable collapse of speedway in the UK. In my opinion ( not universally popular I guess) the quicker we get a reset the better. Back to one league and get the youngsters on board and make the bloody sport viable again!
  22. Do you have an emergency supply of those Mondays and Thursdays you mentioned 😆
