  1. A shaky and nervous start but a great performance in the end and a well deserved play off place. Two important questions if anyone can answer, firstly who do we think will replace danyon Hume, presumably broken collarbones don't repair in a week, unless you use bostik or have healing hands, and secondly do Peterborough have an argument if they don't make the play offs, what I mean is we have made it on merit and points but Sheffield could be there by default. Potentially another speedway own goal?
  2. Our destiny is in our own hands. We must NOT fail.
  3. Panters macca? That's what my cat does when he is knackered. Probably explains why Peterborough can't buy a win😀
  4. Should they or do the scb encourage ex riders into refereeing. Surely they are best qualified to see it from a riders point of view?
  5. That Damn repeat button again. Anyway more importantly Mr Hume is a witches asset so at least we won't have to barter for his services. Slightly off topic but I find it amusing that Peterborough change half the team and still they can't buy a win!
  6. A good win as expected and roll on tomorrow night. Talking of roll on, referees really need to get a grip on this jump starting malarkey otherwise the tapes manufacturer will be nominated for a knighthood! Seriously though, Sergeant got a flyer in heat 1 even after being warned. Even so as speed ace said, numerous issues seem to be bypassed by the referee. Anyway 4 points tomorrow will really crank up the pressure on Sheffield at Rye House on Tuesday.
  7. With Sheffield beating Rye House tonight the pressure is really on us now. However a maximum 7 points from Sheffield and red car should hopefully keep us in the running.
  8. Hang back! We need to make sure we get our results before we make fun of others.
  9. I see Peterborough dropped another couple of points at home, we still have a chance of the play offs.
  10. Allow me to refrase, is it curtains for anyone who doesn't meet the cut?
  11. Are we to presume that if Newcastle don't complete their fixtures by 15th September then it's asta last Vista for them?
  12. With regards to stoke being off again, I haven't been there for a lot of years but does someone sneeze on the track and its off, or is there a deeper problem with the place? I know they've had many vandalism issues in the past.
  13. An excellent victory against poor opposition, but then again you can only beat what's put in front. I think now rather than looking over our shoulder we are closing in on the teams above us. Peterborough have lost 3 at home and look decidedly ropey at the moment. 4 points at Redcar next week would really put a puma amongst the pigeons. Win what we have to and let Newcastle worry about their fixture pile up. By my reckoning they have 10 fixtures to fit in in just under a month. As long as it doesn't effect our fixtures against them, then pressure on man and machine for them could backfire as they try to squeeze in fixtures before the cut off date.
  14. According to Newcastle's website they have 8 remaining fixtures but have only ridden 13 meetings. Either I'm missing something if they are going to miss the cut off.
  15. Again this could be a valuable point if we can pick up another one tommorow.
  16. This is one meeting where we expect to get slapped but as sharpen rake says we have got men who can ride Glasgow. I actually think just 2 points (of course we want more) from both meetings over the weekend will be a bonus.
  17. If we place a fat lady in the doorway it won't slam shut.
  18. Yes it was rubbish baldy but it's 3 points in the bag and up into the play off positions and that's what matters. Anyway I think you'll find Workington are missing Jenson on Saturday with an NL rider stepping in as well, so it may well even things up. If we get stuffed over the weekend then fair enough, but I think it's worth pointing out that we've given ourselves a real fighting chance. If we miss out on the play offs by a couple of points, then lets leave the recriminations till the end of the season, but not while we still have a chance. Let's face it our seven riders know it's in their hands.
  19. Hopefully another decent home win and follow it up with some points on the road at the weekend.
  20. These 2 points could be vital come the end of the season.
  21. Superb win against a poor Plymouth side. We just to take advantage at Sheffield next week and we could be on the coat tails of the play offs.
  22. However the forecast does seem to be aaone of those where they are not entirely sure how and where the rain will fall.
