  1. Well thanks to this thread there are at least 5 people not going to Sheffield Sunday who 2 weeks ago were planning on going.
  2. Hopefully 6 points should give him a bit of confidence and hopefully kick on now after a very performance coming 2nd in the u21s the weekend .
  3. much appreciated but that only works on a android phone not a iphone.
  4. This may of already been covered but are there or do people use race card apps for league meetings? do such apps exist ?
  5. I completely 100% agree . Sometimes it seems like seem like moaning but i can fully understand why a promotion would make a early due to forecasts. Ultimately i am just a fan/supporter so i just want to watch my local speedway team as much as possible and look forward to Wednesday nights so naturally when they are called off i am disappointed.
  6. Come in to what ? At this stage i am only interested in discussing the meeting and presuming it is on. If the decision to call it off again because of weather forecasts fair enough . All i am saying the forecast for this week is not as bad as last week.
  7. Last week it forecast torrential rain with thunder storms .
  8. I have had a bit of a scan i can only see light showers in the morning and afternoon.
  9. Ryan is a young lad who is only just starting out give him a break.
  10. Brummies need to turn up to this meeting with all 7 riders contributing Minimum of 4-5 points each . The way the team is built were rarely going to have riders in double figures so it is imperative all 7 riders contribute. The rider most at risk is Tobias Thomsen who on a 5.00 ave has averaged 1.25 points per meeting from 4 meetings is fairly woeful and really needs to start picking up some good points.Granted two of them meetings were Eastbourne away which as we know is a tricky track so a few more meetings before we make a call on Tobias .Hopefully picking up 5-6 points Wednesday Would be a good start to silencing people like myself. Key to this meeting also is how and when we use our reserve riders in this meeting If Paco is on fire or performing well he should be getting 6/7 rides. For Eastbourne Lawson,Kennett and Kerr should be getting around 34 points between them so its What the rest can get between them i suspect it will be just enough to win the meeting. Prediction 42-48 A good meeting is expecting obviously i have it fairly tight any machinery problems for Eagles top 3 could swing it Brummies way . Hopefully all the riders stay safe and a safe journey to all the fans also.
  11. Threads with titles like this are only damaging to speedway in this country . Maybe bring it up in the Sheffield 2019 thread ? I am sure all the above is correct but the way i see it is dont bother going there its rubbish . which i am sure is not your intention.
  12. Right am i right in thinking if selected for heat 14 you cant ride heat 15 ? The manager gives you the choice in of 4 riders to select for heat 14 .Then the two not selected i presume the manager selects in heat 15 . So in reality the supporters are only really deciding if a rider goes out in heat 14 or 15 ?? is this correct ? Now as you do not know who is in 14 or 15 at time of voting for the opposition it all seems a complete waste of time. It came up on my twitter feed just and i voted for the Swindon rider for this evenings meeting it seems pretty ridiculous to be honest. Head to Twitter now to vote for heat 14Swindon - @swindonspeedway - Doyle, Musielak, Batchelor, EllisIpswich - @ipswichspeedway - Allen, Lawson, Piezcszek, Harris As a example all four rode in 14 and 15 all the vote done was decide the order.
  13. Think Rosco will stick with him tbh he is far better than he is currently riding . Rosco will help him find his form just like in previous seasons hopefully anyway . I know you always have to hate a rider for swindon i take it you have selected Zach now then.I look forward for your constant hate campaign against him.
  14. Looks like the wrong call was made here the conditions by the looks and sounds of things would of been perfect for a speedway meeting.
  15. The current Brummies 1-7 wont win a meeting all season imo. If the racing is good i wont mind but Tobisas thomsen will be gone very shortly 1.25 ave from 4 meeting from a rider on a 4.00 ave cannot be kept im afraid. I am currently 3 miles gfrom Perry Barr and it is raining nothing heavy light to medium.
  16. Oh nice one yeah i have heard his name he is starting his first season at reserve foe the iow this year ,i will keep my eye open for him and no doubt get to see him a few times at Perry Barr as we have the Bulls and Mk Knights riding there this season.. Is there many hang around to watch the second half's? at Perry Barr its around 20% roughly.
  17. What was the second half meeting ? and who is this young rider you speak of ?
  18. They own i think 6 or 7 stadiums and the price of everything is set nationally. The club have and are in continuous talks with the owners to address this issue but they just wont budge i am afraid.
  19. Yeah running costs a arm and leg these days hahahah. Yeah your right though you are the only person who attends or has attended Birmingham speedway who has other hobbies because were all a bunch of saddos who only have speedway in our lives. You clearly have a issue with Birmingham speedway for what ever reason and to be honest it rather unhelpful and harming. It is also not true .It costs no extra to sit in the grandstand my father sometimes does both if it gets a bit nippy after the interval. Its costs £50 a season if you would like a table of 6 reserving and that is for the whole season which works out to around 60p a meeting per person roughly. There are plenty of other tables and seats where you can sit for no extra charge. So your moaning about the cost of food you dont even consume unless you go to perry barr that is for some reason bit odd that. To be honest i dont actually believe anything you have said so what sports stadiums lets you bring your own food and drink in please ? To be honest my Dad and his pal always bring a flask and i always bring food and juice for my young boy and no one has ever said anything. As for the price of beer if you want a cheap pint pop to the weatherspoons over the road but the vast majority of people go to watch the speedway .
  20. I think you may of been caught out here pieman little bit sad really . So you went last year but a week ago you was enquiring what the facilities were like hmmmm.
  21. If you like to sit in the warm and watch the meeting there is no better track around than Perry Barr the grandstand is tiered with plenty of tables and seats that can accommodate approx 800 people although the stadiums wiki page states it can accommodate 2000. Toilets and clean and tidy both upstairs and downstairs .There is a bar for drinks both upstairs and downstairs which is very pricey £4.30 a pint .Food outlet is located downstairs does hotdogs, burgers, chips etc again over priced not eat much from there but its pretty standard for events cantering .There is now a small hut on the terrace outside where you can buy club merchandise and race programmes (which can also be purchased at the turnstiles) . overall all the facilities are decent . The prices at the bar and food outlets are set by the GRA and we have tried numerous times to get them more affordable but they wont budge. The temporary stands ,pits area, merchandise hut , turnstiles ,changing room ,junior pits, track, kick boards and all the machinery are Maintained and owned by Birmingham speedway and a lot of hard work has gone in over the winter by officals and supporters to maintain these. Would you care to expand on what was so awful about the facilities and we could pass it in to the management .They are always after feedback and are always looking to improve the supporters experience.
  22. Care to expand ? any suggestions how it could be improved ? what did you find funny ? and what do you find cringe worthy ?
  23. well contributed to what was a brilliant brilliant meeting twists and turns and well done somerset ,in fact well done all 14 riders you served up the best meeting i have seen in years at perry barr. As for guests and attracting big names to this country it matters not one bit to people because that 4 million people would not have a clue who anyone is anyway. Producing racing like i witnessed tonight every week would get 4 million people interested. We will have to agree to disagree on the guest ruling but i want to be entertained first and win second.
  24. I disagree personally i would rather see a competitive meeting with 7 riders each side if that means a single guest tonight so be it.
