How much did sky pay to show speedway £90,000 ? That dosent sound a lot but I guess when you see what's on offer a fiver would have been too much. If it was £90 grand would that cover installing air or similar fences at all tracks ?

I have no idea how much money sky paid to cover speedway BUT maybe air fences at every track would of been a sound investment. Where did the money go ?

Crikey I am obviously easy to please I thought it was a fantastic GP not just the racing it had everything. I don't understand the posts saying that the indoor tracks aren't as good as permanent tracks ,I agree some of the polish tracks are superb but compare saturday to Poole or swindon ok not GP venues but in my opinion poor racing/passing tracks. Indoor is here to stay & surely that's a good thing , ok I am old & going bonkers but for me the GPs are superb. -
Let's not kid ourselves why would sky ,eurosport ,playboy channel anyone want to pay & show the disaster that is the Elite league ? Shambolic stadiums ,teams made up of other teams riders ,ancient team managers/ promoters interviewed & spouting gibberish. Christ I am saying all this as a fan of 37 years but for me just from a tv view the GPs are a quality product the elite league is a shambles.

Sorry but the fans saying ". The track was too samall for a GP ,the track was dangerous" & the most hilarious comment "was just an ok meeting" your all having a giraffe. Its all about opinions but that was a hell of a meeting last night up there with the best ever IMO. -

Think I need therapy after that. Without doubt the most dramatic & tension filled meeting with lashings of brilliant racing i have ever seen. Thoughts with gollob really hope he is ok but it looked awful & as for tai the lad is something else he makes our footballers look like total wimps riding on with an injury like that. They should box up tonites meet & send it to BBc or ITV & say this is GP speedway this is what your missing. 10/10 to all Bloody Brilliant. Off for a lie down. -
5 live do have speedway but usually only around the cardiff GP & know darren fletcher who commentates for 5 live has done GP commentary on the radio & really likes his speedway. I can see them covering the GPs in the future but why the hell would they be interested in the elite league ,my badminton club is more professional & were rubbish

Tai Woffinden

Well done tai excellent interview you are a credit to yourself ,your family & your sport. Well done my son. Will your success make any difference to the leagues in this country ? With the numbskulls who run it the answer is no. -
I listen to 5 live every day & occasionally they do feature speedway even having the play offs on sports extra last year (is it on this year?). When mark loram won I bombarded 5 live with numerous texts & they eventually they mentioned the wonderful news. I guess they don't show much enthusiasm as they regard it as a minority sport but are happy to feature ladies footie ,rowing, snooker etc.

R/r For A Rider Riding Elsewhere?
rob tatum replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I & many others have made posts on this forum re r/r ,guests etc etc bemoaning the amateurish way it makes the sport look & we have been destroyed by fans criticising our views. Well the sport stinks I'm afraid & it saddens me to see such a sorry mess. It is the titanic league. -
Crikey sidney you can read my mind. Simmons ,adams & phil crump were super smooth

Wild Cards 2014
rob tatum replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Personally I would like the best 16 riders in the world competing injuries etc etc permitting. No disrespect to dryml he is a lovely bloke but its no fun watching a rider struggle so badly. So I am not against picks or seeded riders if it means we have the best available. Just my opinion -

To White Knight I never said you did it was a general post aimed at those slagging off the BSi. Apologies. -

So let me get this straight the reason we have crumbling stadiums ,terrible crowds ,extortionate entrance fees & a poor standard of racing is all down to the BSI ? ! Rubbish -

Sorry I don't agree BSI are causing the downfall of league speedway the league is poorly run & always has been. Pains me to say it but it needs major surgery or it will cough & splutter like an asthmatic ant carrying heavy shopping into the abyss. -
A customer of mine was telling me about the day he went to newport and saw ivan mauger V phil crump in a golden helmet match race. Mauger made the gate (as usual) but on the 2nd lap crumpie blasted round mauger and did a wall of death up the safety fence. Apparently you could see the rubber from the tyre half way up. Wish I'd seen that as phil was my favourite rider as a kid.

Rider Size, How Much Does It Matter?
rob tatum replied to manchesterpaul's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Apparently size is very important according to my wife. She is hoping michael fassbender signs up for the GPs next year as he will have a distinct advantage on the run to the line.
