Poland’s a completely different case because it’s a major sport there, there are many more young speedway riders than here and they have far better backing and pay.

On a 1.6 multiplier Anders Rowe doesn’t look like a good signing on a 3. His 4.38 CL converts to 2.74. Connor Mountain’s 4.73 converts to 2.96 and he had an even higher average earlier in the season and has an extra year’s experience, having ridden in the CL in 2018. Anders only went into the Somerset 1-5 when Somerset released three riders and went top heavy. Having said that, he did do much better than expected in the main body of the team in the final third of the season, raising his average from 3.85 to 4.38.

Not according to the opening GSA. Whereas Wajtknecht’s, for example, clearly showed his 2.5% discount.

He’s much more entertaining than Kenny Bjerre and more likely to step up to the plate in big meetings, home and away. Even if he ends with a 7 average, compared to Bjerre’s 7.75, you’ll get value for money!

Ellis Perks should have been Swindon’s lowest averaged signing for next year. For all of his effort this year people seem to overlook the fact he scored bugger all points and ended with a 3.57 average. Rowe has an average two points below Perks in the CL so I expect him to score fewer points next year than Ellis did this year and it won’t help the lad’s confidence. I doubt he’ll average 3. That’s no reflection on him, it’s just a year too early.

Surely it has to start in the CL though? They should have a minimum 7 point NL average to be eligible for the CL. And then a 4.5 CL average before coming into the PL. Otherwise they’re just rabbits in the headlights, making up the numbers and usually tailed off.

Except it doesn’t work like that. Ask Jack Smith, James Shanes and Zac Wajtknecht.

Nick Morris didn’t get a reduction in the PL this year. He finished on 6.60 for Swindon in 2018 and signed for Wolves on 6.60.

Quite right. Nicol instead of Nicholls only makes sense if Wolves need the extra points to sign an 8.5 rider and Hancock is the only one that comes to mind. I’m expecting Masters and Thorsell. CVS must be looking at Nicol as a long term asset, even if he has come a year too soon.

Blimey, can’t believe you lot writing off Rob Ledwith when several Kent fans have said he’s a decent, exciting rider who can improve despite his age. The promotion obviously thinks that too, so give him a chance. Maybe Morley isn’t available or could come in later if necessary.

Good try. Covatti is a better signing than BWD. And the promotion has preferred Ledwith over Morley so he has to be given a fair chance.

But these are all from 2018. Workington didn’t ride this year so even if they declared a team at the start of 2019 their “results” and averages would be expunged, like Rye House’s, wouldn’t they? Bradley was though declared in Peterborough’s 2019 PL team and he actually rode for them. So, he did not ride in the CL in 2019, his only 2019 averaged came in the PL, and consequently his 2020 CL average must be converted from his 2019 PL average. Is that not right?

Did he? I can’t see him in the GSAs.
