In the CL this year, James was 5.09, Ashley 5.58 and Stefan 5.66.
From memory, Doyle 9.8 and Lampart 4.58 adds up to 14.38, Morris 6.6 and Bellego 6.11 adds up to 12.71. Lampart is as likely as Nick to add a point to his average.
Plus Doyle frequently wins heat 15 home and away while Nick might manage a second and a third.
No worries.
The problem is that Jack’s 7.39 starting average is less promising for a number one than Brady’s 8.08 one was for this year! I doubt that either will beat 7.5 next season.
Fair point.
On the one hand maybe BV did need a freshen up; on the other hand, they’ve dropped a very loyal rider at the peak of his career and gone back to an older one who’s on the wane. For me, loyalty is worth more than squeezing the best average advantage.
Err, no, it’s not just one season, it’s an excellent progression.
Lambert is two years younger than the mighty Jack Holder but has averaged more than Holder for the last three seasons!
Thanks. So, in Matt’s table of riders, Musielak is significantly better than Worrall or MPT, we couldn’t have Morris or Kurtz and we already have Ellis.
So the superior available riders are????
But Bjerre is a journeyman who has ridden for most PL clubs and he’s used to being in one season and out the next, while Craig has ridden only for Belle Vue and was loyal to them when they were rubbish.
Bridges are rarely burnt in speedway. Look at Jack Holder returning to Poole and Batchelor and Doyle to Swindon. There were lots of caustic words between those riders and their clubs and all is forgotten within a season or two.
I agree that Craig Cook is not the natural talent of Darcy Ward or Robert Lambert but even Tai Woffinden had a terrible first GP campaign!
Craig has made the most of his career by hard work and determination and he should be admired for that and be the inspiration for every NL rider. He is also quite eloquent and doesn’t talk in cliches.
Only 8 places left now and 8 Brits unsigned:
If Kennett, Lawson and Wajtknecht go to Eastbourne and Dan Bewley and Adam Ellis sit out the PL, it’s down to Newcastle to consider Morley, Hume and Phillips rather than the Euro stocking fillers.
Update: Wright, Barker, Bacon, Smith and Greaves signed for Redcar.
