Assuming the other four will maintain their collective average: Doyle should average 9.6, adding 3 points to Morris’ 6.6, Shanes should average 4, adding 2 points to Jack Smith’s 2, and Lampart needs to average 5.1, so he drops no more than a point off Bellego’s 6.1. If that happens we’re looking good.

Yes, you’re right and if we’d had the points available I’d have chosen Stefan, especially as he is an asset, but he is injury prone and their CL averages suggest there may not be a big difference: 5.66 (Stefan) and 5.09 (Shanes)

Hmmmm strength of reserves? Poole fans are drooling over Covatti who put in some good cameos in the PL this year but who saw his bread and butter CL average drop from 7.49 to 6.56. He’s inconsistent and injury prone. It makes more sense to have a 9 point number one and reserves of 5 and 3 (Swindon), than a 7.5 point number one and two 5 point reserves (Poole).

Apparently it’s the target average Matt has set for your riders.

Really? So how come his average dropped from 6.64 to 4.96? Was it because he had a poor season or because of his riding position in the team?

Let's face it, there aren't many good analogies with speedway. Regardless, it was very poor for Poole to do nothing for Stefan when he broke a leg riding for them. Mitch Davey is not a Swindon asset but we raised thousands for him. Just common decency.

You think? We kept the same 1-7 except for an injury replacement, had a very good half season and were pretty good at home all year. While Poole were a laughing stock, particularly useless at home, used 13 riders, most with no connection to the club and got lucky.

If so, I’d have Berge and Stefan Nielsen at reserve. Both could add 2 points.

If Berge is converted back from his 5.03 CL average on the 1.5 conversion rate, it gives 3.35, which would make him fit with Zach. Doyle Lampart Ellis Musielak Batchelor Wajtknecht Berge The strongest top four in the league and Berge certain to improve on 3.35.

If we sign Zach, it looks like the best we can hope for at number 7 is Shanes or Bacon.
