Etheridge has had a shocker of a season with Sheffield, thought they would've sacked him early doors but who was available on such a low average to replace him? He's a rider with absolutely no confidence in himself when riding in the Prem. When he downed Jenkins it was the start of lap two, he'd been all over the back of Jenkins up to then and was obviously faster than him, all he had to do was bide his time and he'd have passed him easily. The incident in heat 11 was abysmal, both from Etheridge and the referee. Riding a wide line he was well behind Fricke and there was room for him to continue that line as Fricke wasn't that close to the fence. Why he chose to change his line, across the front of Cook, only he'll know. The same applies to Ackroyd as to why he excluded Cook....unbelievable! Don't know what Etheridge was on last night, but his head wasn't right, he came out in heat seven with the wrong helmet colour, pity he had to have three rides!

Yep we had that shower too, it lasted about 7 minutes, now bright sunshine. I did say no rain forecast after 5pm!

No rain forecast for Sheffield after 5 pm. No rain yesterday and what's come down this morning and overnight hasn't been extreme. If the track staff can get a good start on track prep this afternoon there's no reason this shouldn't go ahead.

In last nights Sheffield programme (v Kings Lynn), two of the Sheffield co-promotors mentioned in their notes about the previous week v Belle Vue, "heated discussions between both managements and referee prior to the start" and "they tried to play some silly games before the meeting". Does anyone know what they are referring to?

Must be around 11 pm, the latest I've ever stayed until is around 10.30pm and there weren't many in, the staff were asking if anyone wanted any more drinks as I think they were thinking of closing up. You could always go out to the New Barrack Tavern which is about five minutes walk from the stadium.

Other than the Wolves riders I can't think of many riders who actually like Monmore Green. I couldn't understand why they used to hold the British Championship there year after year until the NSS was built.

Nothing wrong with Kerr's commitment on Saturday, but they had fixed him up with a move to Leicester, think you may be right with the last part of your post.
