  1. Oh dear MikeyT. Bit touchy aren't we? My comments about Alex and his permit were first posted on the Plymouth forum. You made absolutely no comment about it on there. I make a reference on here and you go off on one. The article does make reference to a potential problem and even alludes to the cases of Campton and Masters. Why shouldn't we believe the reporter, as the comments supposedly come from Team Manager Trigger? Oh, but of course, you already know that don't you? Seeing's as YOU wrote the article for the website!! Ok, in future I wont read anything you write on here or there, because as you say just because its in black and white doesn't mean its true. Or do you always write a load of b******s? Happy Christmas.
  2. What a farce. How unprofessional. Nothing surprises me anymore. I wouldn't have considered Lemon anyway, but this is not clever. Now it seems there are potential doubts about Alex Davies getting a work permit, according to the BBC sport webpage. You simply couldn't make this up, could you?
  3. So, Lemon and Katajisto make it 6 of the 7 riders for 2014. www.plymouthherald.co.uk Season of struggle beckons, once again.....
  4. Instead of the 'Devon Demons' why not have the 'Devon Falcons'?
  5. Oh bless. You are entitled to think what you will. You both disagree with me. that's fine, that's democracy. Just because we disagree, it doesn't make my thoughts rubbish or invalid. Grow up the pair of you. Oh and I have absolutely NO CONNECTION at all with Bowden.
  6. Good riddance. Now to change the team manager as well, please.
  7. I sincerely hope thats not Plymouths confirmed line up.Id definitely put Stichauer at No.2 and leave Jensen at No.3 with Kata at No.4.
  8. Thank you Najjer. Thats the whole point of this thread.
  9. So Lewy, can you provide the link to the discussions regarding signing Mikkel? Any further mention of me being involved with the former promotion or any thing to do with the incidents from last night will result in legal action. You are 100% out of order. All I have done is outline my concerns regarding certain riders and presenters. I raised concerns early on about Kling and Schramm. So who was right? Both have since moved on, and the management even acknowledged they had been looking for replacements for a while before. So they were obviously thinking the same as I was! Ask those that were at Leicester early in the season,They were all for getting rid of Trigger for his inept display that night, and a few since. I have watched racing at every possible level and watched 1000's of meetings all over the World. Without any doubts at all, the meeting presentations at the SBA are the worst I have come across. Baxendale is clueless. I like the idea of the riders coming to the start line, without their helmets on. However,as they leave the pits, the riders should be introduced individually instead of ''here come Witches' or whoever. Then a little of each riders background instead of 'No1 Ben Barker', No2 ... and so on. The presenter is there to keep us all up to date with latest results from around the country, when and where the Devils riders have been since the last meeting, etc. So what does Baxendale do? Hang over the fence to shout at his mates in the crowd and lark around on the centre green. It makes the club look very amateurish. For all the good work behind the scenes, his actions undo a lot of it.The whole show falls flat because he doesn't know how to present. Oh, and why should I go to another track when I live within 0.5 mile of the the SBA? I DO want the best for Plymouth Speedway, These are my opinions, you don't like them? Fair enough, Im not that bothered to be honest. Put me on your ignore list and you wont have to make spurious comments like you have here. If the management do not want to reply to my comments, made in very good faith, then fair enough, that's their prerogative. I DO NOT have any agenda as others have said, I only want the best for the club, however there is room for improvement
  10. Please be good enough to provide the link to this discussion, as I cant find one on the official website. Im not posting crap, as you put it. Im just quoting other information thats available via this website and the Heralds. I'm questioning the validity of the their story. Either they have got it completely wrong, or Trigger has given them wrong information. Which is it? Other on another thread on here others have raised the question regarding Bech riding at Glasgow. There has not been any comment on the official website, which is the only place I look for any information. Oh, and by the way, I have contacted the management by letter, but have yet to receive any acknowledgement whatsoever.
  11. Article from our local rag… thisisplymouth.co.uk I don’t know what to believe any more. Im under the impression he is riding in the World U21 Final at Berwick on that Saturday? Also under DMU rules, all their riders have a 48 hour restriction put on them before the meeting. Therefore, that would put him out of the Friday meeting at Somerset as well. That is of course unless the DMU have changed their stance? On the Glasgow v Plymouth thread, questions were raised about Bech riding at Glasgow last Sunday. Strange how he topped scored for his Polish club at the very same time he should have been at Ashfield? Im not sure what time the meeting up there was called off, but it wouldn’t have given him much time to arrange a flight out to Poland. Or had it all been previously arranged?, and therefore short changing all the fans who might have turned up especially to watch him? Not to mention the travelling fans, as I didn’t see any pr suggesting he wouldn’t have been there. Now you see him…….now you don’t…… Shame really, as he is a genuine talent and is exciting to watch The article……. DANISH sensation Mikkel Bech has turned his back on a hefty pay-day to help keep Plymouth Devils in the Premier League play-offs race, Herald Sport has learned. Bech, 17, already a world cup winner with Denmark, was due to ride in Germany next Saturday, when Devils take on southwest rivals Somerset Rebels at home next Saturday. Plymouth, who take on Rebels in Somerset next Friday, must win both meetings if they want to keep their play-offs hopes alive. A Devils without Bech is like a dog without a tail these days as the teenager not only wins big points for Plymouth, but also entertains the crowd while he's doing it. Team manager Lee Trigger said Bech's loss for the Somerset home meeting would have put the city speedway club in a difficult position. The Devils have been riddled with injuries, a process which began in May when number one Ty Proctor was badly enough hurt to end his season. Latest rider to have a trip to the physio is skipper Cory Gathercole, who is suffering from a dislocated shoulder. Simon Nielsen and Todd Kurtz are both carrying knocks, although all three turned out for Devils in their shock 46-44 away win at league leaders Workington Comets on Saturday. Trigger said the Dane was willing to give up his trip to Germany to ride for Plymouth, who have an outside chance of making the Premier's top six and the play-offs. The Devils' team boss said: "The meeting in Germany is about big crowds and big money. "Mikkel was due to be absent from the team on Saturday so he could ride over there, but he's decided to ride for us instead. "He signed up for the meeting before he joined us (earlier in the season), but he loves it so much at Plymouth he's decided to give up what should be a meeting which earns him money to ride for us. "I think that shows that a big rider like that – and he is – recognises that we as a club have a lot of ambition." Meanwhile, Bech is due to become a Plymouth 'asset' in two meetings' time. The Dane had to appear in a total of eight meetings – four home and four away – before the Devils owned his contract. Bech has one home meeting, against Redcar this Saturday, and one away, probably against Somerset next Friday before Devils own his contract. Trigger said that situation, when it comes about, could mean a significant amount of money for the club. He said: "Mikkel should be our asset on Friday on Friday, August 9. "If he didn't ride for us next year, we can loan him out to other clubs. "And if an Elite League club comes in for him, we could get quite a substantial amount of money for him."
  12. They were having talks with Kennett, last I heard.
  13. Trigger and him in bikinis on Youtube................ make your own mind up! Genuinely forgot to say how impressed I was with Kozza. Excellent effort.
  14. Rather lack lustre to say the least. Good effort from new boy Simon Nielsen. Two strange performances from Kurtz and Bellego. DB started like a rocket and then faded, whilst TK started very subdued and ended like a scolded cat. Our meeting presenter bumbles on as clueless as ever. Introduced Aspegren on the pre meeting parade! Do your homework, PLEASE. Great to listen to Dick Barrie and his comments.Heard several different reasons why Robin wasn't there. Can anyone confirm the official reason, please? Some dubious starts gave the Devils an advantage, with Gathercole and Lemon benefitting on more than one occasion each. The main highlight for me though was seeing former Team Manager Gary Spiller and wife Kelly on their first visit since reading in the local paper that he'd been sacked at the start of the 2012 season! Also what all this nonsense about the 'Bech' straight? He's ridden ONCE at the SBA, and the management want to name the back straight after him! Quite astonishing. He was exciting, but not that good. From what I gather, Mikkel will miss a fair few more fixtures due to other commitments. In out in out more than the hokey cokey!
  15. I said the same thing, before Kling s departure. Its not the first time he's messed up. At Leicester he tried using a rider in Ht15 who didn't qualify! ( he didn't realise that it was from programmed rides only) Does he not do his homework? Barker was flying up at Berwick a few weeks ago and set the fastest time of the season .Bellego equalled that in Ht1 on Saturday, and along with Barker was flying. Horrendous decision to use B/W against them..Add in his pathetic youtube footage ,he's giving the club a very poor image. Our club is still trying to shake of the Bowden nonsense, and we still have this clown at Team Manager. I have vowed not to sponsor anything or any rider while he's still in charge.
  16. A superb piece of archive footage of Plymouth Speedway in 1931. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1LCv9f78E4 A superb piece of archive footage of Plymouth Speedway in 1931. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1LCv9f78E4 A superb piece of archive footage of Plymouth Speedway in 1931. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1LCv9f78E4
  17. Think again Devilspoet. This type of nonsense can have a serious effect for clubs. There have been reported cases of potential sponsors unwilling to part with their money after looking at forums this. Its called research. As Trigger is Team manager and the other idiot, Baxendale? is the meeting presenter, they are in fact representing the club. Very badly. If this had been done by a member of the public, the club could easily distance itself from it. The Devils and all other clubs need sponsorship. The sport needs to promote itself in the best possible light at all times.Do whatever needs to be done to secure some. I can and do support the Devils, although anymore of this nonsense will see me and my family not bothering in future. That's 2 adults and 3 children missing every week from the terraces. Times are hard and sponsorship is at a premium. This, sadly, is extremely misguided.
  18. How embarrassing. There's the club trying to present a cleaner family friendly image, then you get this. Pathetic. You should be ashamed of yourselves. For those that don't know, it features Lee Trigger (T/M) and our crap presenter.
  19. Pleased you enjoyed yourself English Roundabout. Pretty fair assessment of things. Saw the VW van on fire as I approached SBA, with fire brigade in attendance! The crowd was back up to pre PL days. Good to see. The track was terrible up to Ht9,hence the race, grading, race, grading throughout the meeting. Too much dirt and over watering making it rut up badly on turns 3/4 in particular. Sold out of programmes by the time I got there, or so I was told. Later in the meeting, Promoter Ashley Taylor did walk round with some. The PA system needs looking at. We could barely hear Graham Hambly throughout, as background music was drowning him out. I wish the same could be said of that awful presenter. Sadly he butted in many times and spoilt it for us. Why oh why cant he make an effort with foreign riders names? Just ask the rider how you pronounce it! He called Henning 'badger, bagger' not once the correct way of BAYER. Very annoying. A couple of racing incidents to mention. Schramm closed the door hard on Grieves in one race. Very hard indeed, although nothing like the way he stuffed Newman the other week. Big cheer went up around us. Yet when Bager did exactly the same to Kurtz, they wanted his head. Both moves bordered on dangerous, in my opinion. Bech looks the part already. With riders bouncing all over the place, except straight on, he went from 4th to 1st in Ht3. He looks like a raw Bo Petersen, with his long gangly legs. He said he liked the 'rough and bumpy' surface. He did tail off a little in the slick conditions after Ht9. Really felt sorry for Magnus in Ht13. He was in 3rd going into 3rd turn lap1.The two Tigers ahead of him both made mistakes, and as he lined himself up to take both, Lemon took his line and left him no room. He did extremely well stay on his bike. Overall, you have say that it was, for once, a TEAM effort that won the day. All 7 riders winning at least one race.
  20. No Bech, surprise surprise. If he rides on Fri,Devils can use r/r.If he doesnt or its rained off,NL guest only
  21. Genuine question. Will Bech be at Rye House on Saturday? I see that he is listed as riding in the Scandinavian Semi Final of the Euro U21 Championships at Malilla,Sweden for the same time.
  22. Absolute shambles.....again. The first change Id make would be to get rid of Team Manager Trigger. Appalling record in charge. He's the one who selected the riders. His pre season boast that 'this team will not bee beaten at home all season' should now read 'You may get to see us win at home again before the end of the season'. Easy to blame riders, as I've been very critical of Kling in particular. Last night was the best I've seen him in a Devils race jacket, even though he should have been excluded for brining Kurtz down in Ht8.Maybe he is aware that he might be dropped and was desperate to put on a show? Agree a shocking decision also regarding Edberg and Kurtz. Fair play to Josh for a superb effort as a guest. You Sir are welcome back anytime. Otherwise it was an easy away win for the Lions. Well done to them and another easy win tonight against a Devils squad in total disarray Poor crowd and very quiet. A few around me considering whether to go again.
  23. So far, just half a mile from the track...........no rain at all since last night. Unless theres downpour between now and 9pm,eggs on faces springs to mind.
  24. An excellent meeting with some good races. Proctor: At last, a decent No.1 performance. 9/10 Schramm: Tried hard, but needs to gate better.5/10 Lemon: Went awol, totally opposite to last week. 3/10 Kling: Other than finishing in 2nd place in a race, he didn't finish any of his others at racing speed.1/10 Gathercole: Ht15 he seemed to fall a little too easily. Spoilt another good effort. 9/10 Anderson: On this performance, Reade would have done just as well. Obviously needs a little time to settle.4/10 Kurtz: Seemed to lack drive and power. (Best bikes abroad for U21?)6/10 Robson: Unlucky with an ef and suffering a fall when being cut up by Kurtz. Superb dive under Gathercole in Ht15 8/10 Henry: The best Ive ever seen him ride. Deservedly top scored. 8/10 Lindgren: Started red hot and then faded, just like last season! 7/10 Newman: Finally got off the white line, and looked so much more competitive for it. Best performance here for ages.7/10 Kerr: Excellent reserve performance.7/10 Worrall: Disappointing night for him. 3/10 Overall, the best team won on the night. Some hard racing on a well prepared track. Strange decisions from the referee though. Proctor made a flier in Ht6 and it was let go. Newman did the same, but not as obvious as Proctor, and it gets stopped, and Newman warned! 10pts from r/r for the Diamonds was the deciding factor. Not amused at Graham Hambleys comments when Newman dropped it in Ht15.Congratualted him on clearing the track quickly enabling the race to continue. Fair enough. But to then go on and say 'not surprisingly as his partner (Robbo)was at the front at the time'. Totally out of order, as Newman didn't even look up, he just ran to his bike and pushed himself clear If and when this Devils team can all perform at the same time, someone will get a battering. They all just need some consistency. Nevertheless, well done to George English for a very well received interview on the centre green. Im pleased the all the work done by the new Promotion has been noticed by a very experienced Promoter.
  25. Bike problems, again? How many more times are we going to put up with this excuse? He goes to Poole and beats Holder. He scores double figures at Somerset and gets a paid maximum from his pdogrammed rides at Wolves tonight, before running a last in Ht15.Yes Ht 15 of an Elite League meeting! Yet at the SBA the only thing he beats is his own shadow.
