Ben Barker was poor at Poole last night only scoring 6 from 5 rides. He's not fully fit - but who is? - His bikes sounded off too. Good luck.

All home riders congregate for post meeting interviews and rider of night presentation in front of main grandstand. Sam was holding his ribs!!

Sam Hagon had a big off at Poole last night and was in some discomfort when interviewed at the end of the meeting. He only managed 3+1.

The pile of Monmore shale at the back of the main grandstand has certainly reduced in size since the last meeting. We are certainly losing a bit of Terry's track prep expertise. Pleased for Tobias and Vinnie tonight.

Poole tend to only get the blue groove when the weather is hot and sunny and the track dries out so quickly when its underwatered and thats despite using the shale purchased from Monmore!! Bright, sunny and breezy today after the deluge of rain in recent days so who knows..............?! I'll just go and check the tide times..

The first of 6 Pirate meetings in the rest of July. Lets hope for some consistency in the weather which should make for some better consistency in track prep. With or without Nico Covatti/Dan Thompson (or guest/r/r)I can't see anything other than a Pirates win 54-36. NB. Happy 18th Birthday to Vinnie Foord today! COYP.

Updates said he came off and his bike rebounded off the fence and landed on his chest!! Painful!! I didn't watch on BSN and have not yet heard anything this morning.

'100% more pounds per point for Brum' is irrelevant if he's not scoring enough points! More points and more meetings for Poole (plus more win bonuses?) makes more sense . The Poole track gets similar criticism for being inconsistent, but points are still scored. However I do share concerns that his overall speedway schedule and travelling is taking its toll - something that may get worse as the season progresses.
