  1. Why should 'gate and go' mean 'follow the leader'? All 4 riders could gate and go, and the racing could be fast and close, Clearly a 'leader' is going to win with others following, other wise every race would be a 4-way dead heat (if the transponders allow?) Maybe the answer is in the heat format and there should only be heat leaders v heat leaders; 2nd strings v 2nd strings and reserves v reserves, rather than always blaming the tracks?
  2. During the lunch break of the Ashes cricket today on BBC 5 sports extra, there was a live interview with sports promoter Eddie Hearn. He made several interesting and relevant points about the sports he promotes and some others that he enjoys eg cricket. He reckons that in every sport - team or individual - you have to create 'characters'. Any sport should have characters that fans can relate to, even if the personas are 'made up' to generate supporter and media interest. ( Wrestling,Darts etc) 'Sports should be entertaining - not just in the actual live competition, but also in the pre and post publicity'. 'Whatever the sport purists want it can be achieved but also every event must entertain by creating characters - heroes and villains'! Interesting.......
  3. There seems to be the impression that 'gate and go' only applies to one or two riders per race?! 'Gate and go' can apply to all 4 riders in a race, is very often NOT boring and often provides decent, fast racing by riders that 'miss the gate'! If all 4 'gate and go' then the racing can be very close even when there are no overtakes!!
  4. Not sure if that rule applies to reserves? Someone will no doubt clarify.
  5. Not a chance! Just wondering if going Prem rather than the bigger league is paying off?
  6. I did say previously that the options for Complins 3.61 were not too good.
  7. I'd be really interested to hear from regular Leicester fans as to what Premiership attendances are like compared to the last couple of years at Championship level on Saturdays?
  8. Rescheduled for Weds 16th August. Suspension remains in place until at least then. Brummies continue to have a facility!
  9. Don't you mean "No...err uhm....doubt about...err uhm... that"?
  10. Sheffield have their own issues - especially over stadium availability
  11. Certainly was the correct decision to postpone early. Its been persistently steady raining since around 4pm ish.
  12. So Mr Dickson's plan to use Alfie Bowtell for upto 7 rides a meeting won't last long then as Starkey drops to reserve in August!
  13. Ian, what are the official reasons for that?
  14. Lewis Kerr (5.73) drops to reserve (when fit) in August.
  15. The last time that Anders will be at 2 and Kyle at 6 - at least for a month!!?
  16. SCB hearing was to be this week I believe, but now rescheduled to 16/8
  17. At least the Morris/guest situation should become clearer by the new date with his SCB hearing scheduled for tomorrow (unless it's rained off)! Incidentally the new averages for August show Morris back in the Brummies 1-7. (and Starke dropping to reserve?!)!!
