Very Disappointed With.....
Presenter replied to Cornishman's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I too was expeecting some kind of tribute in the form of a montage of Lee in action. As there were so many #RICO t shirts being worn, it would have been a thought to have got everyone wearing them to stand, to just gauge how successfull "Make Cardiff a White Out for Rico" had been (well done to Freya Louis, by the way, for driving this scheme) It is a difficult situation for the organisers to have a tribute for Lee Richardson only. My suggestion would be to, in the interval, show a slideshow of anyone connected to speedway that has left us during the time between British Grand Prix/ previous 12 months. That way, riders, officials and even die-hard supporters could be honoured, in the same way as they do at the BAFTAs when they take a moment to remember those that are no longer with us. Just a thought Overall Cardiff was a good event, although I felt that it was a little "flat" this year. Perhaps they should change the guy on the microphone -
Ipswich 2012

Thank you. It was not a written tribute so cannot reproduce it anywhere for you. i just said what I felt was appropriate and paid tribute to a man who we all at Ipswich, have everything to remember him for. -

So sorry to hear this news. Jean loved her speedway and was totally dedicated to the Fen Tigers. My thoughts are with Ray at this time and hopefully her Fen Tigers will do her proud at the weekend. Kevin Long -
Hotel Rooms In Cardiff ?
Presenter replied to Captain-Sprocket's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
We had a room available last week as one of our Ipswich party dropped out. We have since re-sold it. But you could try the Future Inn, Cardiff Bay - Good Luck www.futureinns.co.uk -
Polish Grand Prix - Bydgoszcz
Presenter replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Surely this meeting contraveans (sp) Testimonial Regulations.....I mean, NO SHANE PARKER ??? outrageous!! -
Another example of the influence of SkySports, as they were obviously just after the "Hollywood" shot of the riders emerging from the car and introduced by the totty, in a similar way to the red-carpet Oscars I suppose. It did not work from a fans point of view as we like to think the riders can see us and where the majority of their support is based. I know from years of going to Coventry for British Finals that the Ipswich riders always knew to look at the exit of the second bend for their fan-base. You cannot knock BSI for trying a new idea and I'm sure next year they will have thought of the fans in the stadium a tad more. Overall, though, excellent weekend.....particularly my 4 hour boozy lunch in Mill Lane.....Here's to 2 0 0 6

I think there are plenty of signs for Cardiff Bay. I will be down there tonight (Friday) having dinner in Scallops Restaurant with friends and our coach drivers from Ipswich. Two coaches going on a three-day trip, plus three one-day coaches going from Ipswich. Loads to do in the Bay. The boat trip round the bay is excellent and you sail right round the stadium and there is also a white-water raft ride for those that are more adventurous. Loads of bars and eateries.....so you should have fun... I am looking forward to our behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium on Saturday morning....exclusive to our tour.... Whatever you guys do....have fun....

Crump knew that the exclusion was on its way...otherwise we would have been witness to the usual dummy spitting, helmet throwing tantrums... The only question i'd like to pose....How would Crump have reacted if it had been Pedersen kicking him??
-
Andreas seems to be going in the right direction...unlike some of his more esteemed colleagues who are actually going backwards....riders who only a couple of years ago were being touted as possible champions themselves...
-
Congratulations to Jason....but what is it with this new "touchy-feely" Crumpy...chatting all nicely in the pits with Gollob, Adams and then apparently even sharing a joke with Nicki.....

What about Scott then!!
Presenter replied to GeneralMelchett's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
What was noticable was the complete lack of National Managerial support for not just Scott, but all the British riders. Whilst Jacob Olsen is a very prominent presence in the pits geeing up and encouraging all the Danish riders, where is our National Team Manager supporting our riders. Scott eluded to it when being interviewed on Sky, and thanked Mark for his support after his own early exit, but surely there should be a managerial presence supporting the riders and not just allowing them to self-support each other. I'm afraid that our National management could take a leaf out of the book of some of the other nations. -
A-Final
Presenter replied to ha en bra födelsedag's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Imagine how confused he will be if you tell him there isn't an A Final and then next year there is one....as apparently the four final finale is being reintroduced.....i'd of thought of more concern to Leigh was the fact that during the whole Sky broadcast it wasn't mentioned once that he is the Man from Mildura.... -
Well done David Norris
Presenter replied to Philip Addison's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
David Norris is partially responsible for my sore throat today, as I shouted for all I was worth in each and every one of his races. He put in a truly LionHeart performance. It has left me wondering though what David might have achieved in his career if he had shown his current determination and commitment a few seasons ago. He has to be an automatic choice for the WTC, of course, and I hope that he carries this rich vein of form into that tournament, and then who knows, what Team Great Britain might be able to achieve....Well Done Dave... -

Tony Hadley was a real star when we met him over lunch in the Cafe Street....he said how much he was looking forward to the gig...and the way he belted out Delila was magnificent.....and a really HUGE man...he must be about 7 foot tall... -
Just to congratulate Sam Ermolenko for his performance at Cardiff tonight....making his debut as a stadium announcer and at such a huge event he played a blinder....and got his just reward by having Greg the winner....A great night for the Stars and Stripes.....

You can understand why Scott Nicholls was so aggreved as he was still coming down to the finish line at full pelt, with two vitually stationery riders infront of him causing an unnecessary hazzard. Especially when you think that this is his first meeting back from injury and naturally trepedacious. His point to the referee was that at the jury meeting he quite clearly sent a directive to the riders that if they blatently shut off then they would be excluded....that did not happen....Why??? The standard of refereeing in the Grand prix this season has been generally poor, with a whole host of incidence that have gone by without punishment.

I was watching the Grand Prix with Scott's partner Anna, and she says that the 'donation site' (from which the graft is taken), looks even worse than the actual leg injury. Scott is still in a lot of pain with the injury and very prone to infections in the wounds. I'm glad that Sky showed the injury on the GP tonight, to silence the doubters that thought this was just another 'ghost' injury. On which note, Nicki's injured wrist didn't seem to be troubling him too much tonight...

The story of the 1st GP ?
Presenter replied to gillam's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Nice touch from Jason Crump to point out to Tomasz Gollob with less than 60 seconds left on the clock that his front mudguard was broken. Since when was he a member of the Dark Warriors pit crew. Or was he just trying to get Gollob to ride his less favoured machine and thereby trying to favour himself....
