Neen to Krsko several times and I can recommend Slovenia big time. Flights from Stansted to Ljubljana (Easyjet), Stansted to Maribor (Ryanair) and Luton to Zagreb, just over the border in Croatia (Wizzair). Car hire or train to Krsko. Have stayed in Ljubljana and Maribor and can throughly recommend both cities but not done the Zagreb link so dont know about it. A lot of fans stay at the Terme Catez complex and I'm sure that somone can fill you in with the details of it, but for me stay in Ljubljana or Maribor and see the country, it's beautifull. I prefer to drive down thro' Bavaria and Austria, mega scenic. Don't stay in Krsko, very basic accomodation and a bit of a dead end place. Hope that you give it a go.

The best GP venues in Poland, tourist wise, Wroclaw and Chorzow have both been put on a backburner. For me a good GP venue was Slaski Stadium at Chorzow, which was set in a pleasant park. Krakow was just down the motorway with Auschwitz musuem, Wieliczka Salt Mine and Zakopane all not too far away. Temporary track was usually bad but the have come along way since with these tracks (alledgedly). Same it's been binned. Wroclaw, what can you say. Brilliant city, lots to see, beautiful square with great nightlife and restaraunts. Fantastic pre-meeting atmosphere in the square. Will we ever see a GP there again?

"About my next season, I will ride in Allsvenskan in Sweden. Of course there is one thing which is shining in my eyes... It is a dream to be racing for some club in UK! " What's the inside information on Jari for 2008? Any chance of a UK team place? Any chance of a Polish team place? Especially after his good showing at that practice session at Rybnik.

GP system but go back to the old Elimination system after 4 heats. It certainly had more excitement "early doors". -
Don't forget to keep me informed of the dates as soon as you know them, we're planning a trip "up country" to support Jari. I will be the Speedway Sanomat's UK correspondent and keep you up to date with his progress.

Cracking videos, Mateusz. Thanks. Thanks also for making us welcome with the Net-Fans on the backstraight, we had a great night.

Mateusz. Have you got any idea whereTHIS place is. It looks to be some kind of ranch just outside the City. Anyway we have booked it and will taxi into the City and to the track. Look forward to seeing you again, save us some seats on the backstraight. Cheers Capt P

You didn't say which city. Only the crazy Finns would take a taxi from WARSAW to the track. (2004 if I remember correctly)

World Cup - Vojens Sat 14 July
pugwash replied to Mad Mitch's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
There's been quite a bit of interest in speedway in my parish since Bomber's GP win. A lot of people in the pub been asking me about it. Yesterday "early doors" I told some guys at the bar about the SWC, all the worlds top riders etc etc. They all decided to head down to the club to watch on SKY, Oh dear, am I in for some verbal. Doubt it if they will watch again, even though Bomber is riding on Monday. As for Olsen meddling with the track on Monday, the Cov staff need to tell him to "do one". I seem to remember a couple of years ago in Slovenia, the Krsko track staff doing the same, result good track, (win for Trick). -
Pour yourself a glass of Salmiakki and watch the action.

Thanks. Now you are a working man time is short, eh?

Brilliant. About time that the Poole Promotion took a good look at this fella.

No worries. I am sure that Jari will make a swift recovery.

Nice to see Matej doing well. M&M take note. -
We were thinking on the same lines, but staying in Koln which now appears to be booked solid so it's probably going to be Dusseldorf. Will probably stay for an overnight on our way to Wroclaw.

Nice one, I'm privilaged.

Deserves every penny after being married to him. I suppose that he didn't have a leg to stand on, or have I got that the wrong way round ?
-
Thanks for that, Tommy. Just out of personal interest where does Adam Malysz appear. Jan and I always follow the Polish Ski Jumpers with great interest. It's on Eurposport TV live every weekend. Hope to catch up with you at Wroclaw in May. Cheers Pugwash
