  1. Didn't do a single GP in 2006 due to pressure of work, lack of dog minder, lack of roof etc, but Mrs P is insisting that we are doing Wroclaw, Bydgoszcz, Cardiff and possibly Gelsenkirchen. Looking forward to seeing old friends at Wroclaw in May. I had better get practising with the pints. My drinking average is akin to the riding average of some of the duffers that we have suffered at reserve for the past 2 seasons.
  2. Allow yourself plenty of time for this drive, it's a monster, circa 7 hours. Also check start time of meeeting.
  3. Wot no Kasper ! Add to that list : Jari Makinen from Finland. My man in Tampere tells me that he's the "real deal".
  4. Along with Mr Murphy's money ? Hope that this meeting is not rained off, don't want to have to watch the Eurovision Song Contest.
  5. 1. Greg Hancock 2', 2, 3, 3 = 10+1 2. Travis McGowan 3, 1', 3, 2' = 9+2 3. Andy Smith 0, 1, 1, 2' = 4+1 4. Matej Zager 3, 3, 3, 3, 1 = 13 5. Charlie Gjedde 1, 1', 1, 2', 3 = 8+2 6. Zdenek Simota 3, 2, T, Fx = 5 7. Janusz Kolodziej 2', 3, 2', 2, 3 = 12+2 Take your pick, passports no problem, apply via Matej Ferjan.
  6. Sorry Pete. Whole shooting match cancelled unfortunately
  7. Sorry aborted trip last weekend. Will fill you in with the boring details when I see you. Mrs P not a happy bunny.
  8. Dont expectRAIN until Saturday, then only a few showers.
  9. Have a walk along to Los Christianos. The Harlequin bar on the sea front has all the sky sports programmes and you can have a bet there if you so wish. + cheap beer.
  10. Listens to all the latest music on his 8 track.
  11. Joanne. Think that you've got her confused with Bonnie Langford.
  12. May be that The Slovenian Authorities and Matej are mending "broken bridges" at long last, perhaps Tomaz can enlighten us?
  13. Bonnie Tyler. Very poor choice only equalled by those awfull Blues Bros a couple of years ago. Suspect that a lot of fans will stay out of the stadium until the last minute. Don't know why BSI think that they need to waste money this way? Ugh.
  14. Don't bother with a ticket, just wait for the crowd to charge the gate in again on the back straight and walk in free like about 1000 did last year.
  15. If you're thinking of fly / drive, then try Wizzair, Luton-Katowice, £92 return inc taxes etc. Katowice to Wroclaw is a nice stress free drive on a modern motorway, about 2 hours.
  16. Jari Mäkinen . Where have I heard that name before? Glad that he's fixed up in a team, I'll be watching his progress with interest, could well be a future Pirate.
  17. Rybnik is about 40km from Katowice. If you're thinking of fly/drive, then Katowice, Krakow and Wroclaw are the nearest airports in Poland (in that order). Pick the cheapest flight, hire a car and drive. Wroclaw and Krakow are connected to Katowice via a new fast motorway (Wroclaw-Katowice 2 hours, Krakow-Katowice 1 hour). Alternatively Ostrava in The Czech Republic is only 50km from Rybnik and I believe that you can fly there from several UK airports.
  18. Good value too. 3 nights B&B in a Junior Suite = £190, less 20% discount = £152, works out a £51 per night, not a bad price for a suite in a 4 star hotel. Discount can be obtained by previously staying in anyPOLISH PRESTIGE HOTELS. If you're staying at the HP Park Plaza make sure that you get your room key card signed off and you can get 20% discount at the City Hotel, Bydgoszcz in September.
  19. We are making a bit of a holiday of it. Monday to Wednesday in Zakopane then Thursday to Sunday in Wroclaw. Usually stay at the HP Park Plaza which we discovered several years ago, but it now seems that everyone else has discovered it and there's "no room at the inn". (Block bookings by BSI and Travel + Tours no doubt). Still we are now staying at The Art Hotel which is within crawling distance ot the main square. For anyone new to the city HERE'S a street plan. Rynek is the main square. Hp PARK is at the top of the map, over the river (denoted with a red telephone) facing Wyspa Slodowa island. The Raddison is at the right hand side of the map on Purkyniego (denoted with a blue telephone sign ) facing the Panorama. Mercure is to the right side also at the "tp" sign. All within a short walk of the Highlander, Sphinx, Guiness pub and a million other bars and restraunts around the main square. See you all there, it's gonna be a knockout. Perhaps our "M.C" Rico will suggest a meet-up or three.
