World Long Track 2013 Round At Rzeszow
f-s-p replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
When he won his first title, he said a LT GP cost him around 5000 euros in bike wear/tear. I dont think he's done any other LT events since his first title. Not worth risking some sunday riders crashing in to him and finishing a season for a chance to win a coffee cup sized trophy and 250 euros... You mean Kylmä has complained about money! Now that's a shock. -
Grand Prix Speedway In Finland 2014-2016
f-s-p replied to f-s-p's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Actually I find Denmark/Copenhagen expensive and Sweden (been around a lot more) a bit cheaper than Finland. The two hotels to stay at are Hotel Ilves and Cumulus Hämeenpuisto. Both within 500 meters from the stadium. -
Grand Prix Speedway In Finland 2014-2016
f-s-p replied to f-s-p's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
There's a friendly saying Finland called KVG, kato vitsi googlesta. Hotel room is around 80 to 120 euros, a pint from 4,50 upwards, pizza from 6 euros, hamburger meal at our mdonalds from 7 euros upwards, single bus ticket 2,40, train between Helsinki and Tampere around 35... -

Actually you started your post wrong , they changed the rules so they could take in tracks like Rzeszow and Pardubice. Also only five riders in a heat from now on. -
Grand Prix Speedway In Finland 2014-2016
f-s-p replied to f-s-p's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Like it says in Speedwaysanomat, the Finnish track racing magazine thats again out tomorrow, things are looking positive for the Ratina Grand Prix between 2014-2016. According to promoter Jarno Kosonen the talks with BSI have more or less been finalised with a positive outcome. A lot if not everything depends on the outcome of a meeting within the city council held in mid December. Thats when (I'm led to believe) the terms of the use of the stadium are discussed and told. Also the time of the GP has been switched from around August to May to better fir the stadium calendar. Kosonen has also set up a support facebook page >>>HERE<<< -
No More Semi-final Gate Picks
f-s-p replied to Ghostwalker's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Leave it as it is now. There's a reason why it is the way it is after about 80 years of racing. There's also a reason (or two) why the 24 rider KO system was scrapped. Maybe it's as fair as it can be, as it was last season? -
No More Semi-final Gate Picks
f-s-p replied to Ghostwalker's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
There's nothing much else to add to this other than there is no other sport that is as unfair as speedway is. The way you meet your opponents in different heats from different gates in changing weather and track moisture has nothing to do with fair. Maybe Ole could hijack the new UEM championship, test his ideas there and then forget about them and let SGP prosper, as much as it prospers. -

Speedevent, the company thats the only one currently thats allowed to make the oneoff tracks? -
No More Semi-final Gate Picks

Even though it takes a few minutes, there's an element of entertainment in those minutes. And also time to restock the coffee table / hit the loo. -
No More Semi-final Gate Picks
f-s-p replied to Ghostwalker's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
What is this round robin? I thought the gates get picked in the finishing order after 20 heats according to points scored, so you get a pick when it's your turn/after the riders that have been better than you... Not many days ago I was thinking that they have not touched the SGP system for a long time and I found nothing wrong in that. And now they've done it again. -
"Is" is wrong. Has the chance to be is more correct and is the #1 candidate at the moment. EDIT: 25 riders riding on 6 tracks for three days, everything went well I'm told. 23 wanted to take part in the meeting, 14 were picked and 9 had to ride a couple of qualis to take their place. The one's that did not qualify, were given a track to practise on for the rest of the camp. Anatoli Bondarenko and Jarmo Hirvasoja were present giving guidance.

With this letter and what it says they are taking a step (without possibly realising which or what) to improve the series even longer. To me (doesn't necessarily count) it says that the FIM will find out the winners of the challenge within 2013. And that means in my view prior to June 2013. All they need is ice. I've heard of people making new people inside other people and people walking on the moon... So whats the problem?

I was trying to find out how they give out WC points in the series and read it through a few times, but the question remains. Where does it say that about the 2014 challenge meeting?
-
Where does it say that?

This date probably seals the Finnish final date as well. Heard that the first Allsvenskan draft had two meetings for this weekend with Team Finland. Cant see them running them now since Sweden own #1 meeting is on the same date. EDIT: Any news about the GSS or RB series?

International training camp at Ylitornio, Finland between 6-9th of December. About 50 people in attendance according to this mornings info and that includes riders and mechanics. Weather looks perfect at the moment with about -10 celsius from today onwards...
-
I tried find dates for GSS and the rumoured Red Bull series, any info on these? Swedish Allsvenskan draft was scrapped and is redone in the coming weeks.
-
Finnish final is ecpected to be ridden on February 16th at Joensuu.

What Gp To See
f-s-p replied to michaelcroucher's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Copenhagen is is too expensive, Stockholm is new with a one off and the stadium is not exactly central. Not sure though, I've driven past it but I do get lost in Stockholm pretty fast. So that leaves Prague. Good beer, I would avoid the taxis and pay more for a hotel. If I go next year, it'll be Bitkos or Gorzow and with a lottery win I will also go to Krsko. Ohh, didn't exactly go straight from A to B in Prague either... -
Not in -13.

He's been as good as ever, best points scorer in the Finnish league this season and made Timo Lahti look like a novice a couple of times. Put on a decent show for Rospiggarna as well. Show him the money, he'll be there. Almost was too late this season.
-
Well it was news to me. Next step for Svemo is to give Anders two weeks pay and make him upload all the stuff that was on speedwayresultat.com back online.
