  1. SPEEDWAYN SM-LIIGA 7 HYVINKÄÄ (HyMK) 18.8.2012 It was a decent meeting yesterday at Hyvinkää. They have done a lot of work with the track and it was in excellent condition for Finnish speedway. Every rider looked like a speedway rider yesterday because the track allowed them to ride speedway without worrying about holes in the track. The top guns were complaining about the lack of grip and dirt line, so it was just perfect. The way things were before this one, was that Keittiöpiste could have sealed it. Timo Lahti was riding for Eastie and Aarnio probably for the comets, so they did have a weakened team, but thats speedway. Anyway, Kotkat took victory and for the last heat Sand Blowers needed a 3-3 to get a rerun for second with Keittiöpiste. They were riding against Kotkat who had already won the meeting and by allowing SB to take atleast a 4-2 from the heat they were giving SB a second place in the meeting and therefore gaining one extra point towards KP in the standings. So naturally SB took a 5-1 from the heat, came second and the standings are giving Kotkat a chance to win the championship next tuesday. After heat 19 both Kotkat riders were excluded for not trying to win, but that did not change anything scorewise. The funny thing is though, that I thought there was nothing dodgy going on at all! Well, I was on the centre green and saw the start from behind. Apparently it was obvious from tapes up that the effort was just not there. So on tuesday, KP will win if they finish second or first. Kotkat needs to win with KP third for a win. KP will have Lahti bros and Aarnio, Kotkat might persuade Nemo to ride and SB will have Mäkinen and Siltaniemi. The way things have been shaping on and off the track lately, it's safe to say that every point will be contested 100 % next tuesday. There's no way the a rider wearing a KP jacket wont get passed if there's a chance for it. 2. I was at Plzen for the U21 team quali a couple of years ago. As it turned out, the people that did NOT stay home for the election TV show, left the meeting as the gates closed to see the TV show about the elections...
  3. Now that might the reason you're kept out of the box. You would have changed your call when MV phoned the box... I also noticed the elbows. But the carnage itself was a totally different incident in my view and something MV caused. And the fall looked really bad, REALLY bad. Vaculik was very lucky to get away with it.
  4. Vaculik tried to ride through Emil and instead ended up chin first to the ground. He was excluded, his mistake.
  5. Longtrack Finnish Champion 2012 is Aki-Pekka Mustonen. He beat Björn G Hansen and Joel Nyström in the final. Aarni Heikkilä was 4th. 6. Been flicking through some sites and see that Zlata Stuha on Oct 12th, start 5 PM U21 Final on Oct 13th, start 5 PM Zlata Prilba on Oct 14th, start 12/noon I cant see how you can do a meeting with 36 riders with that schedule, please someone explain.
  7. Finnish longtrack final this sat, Nordic final sun. SM-liiga 7 at Hyvinkää Aug18th SM-liiga 8 at Kuusankoski Aug 21st U21 final at Pori Sep 16th
  8. SM-liiga today at Kuusankoski postponed due to a waterlogged track. No new date yet.
  9. Better be something, preferrably good too before JRM goes belly up.
  10. I will be offered one too if no-one else wants one. I heard this last night at home, in my dream...
  11. Even though that one ässhole is giving him a bad name on the forum, that MJJ fellow is quite extraordinary! Hope to see him live later this year,
  12. Finnish U21 final at Haapajärvi abandoned after 6 heats, re-staging at a later date not currently known. KK rode a new track record and was leading with loppi, both 6 and siltaniemi on 5. There were a couple of incidents that took time. Without them we would have seen 8 heats definately, 9 would have given the results. So a bit of bad luck there too.

  15. Didn't I just tell you, that Norway is back on the 80cc scene! Also an interesting 80cc snippet: That Kurtz fellow would have won the YTG final if his bike had not packed up in the last heat of the weekend. Said so in Spar. And if you went to Stralsund, send pics.
  16. Hoping for a good performance in the individual meeting from Alhbom today!
  17. It's turning in to a nightmare... The teams in the Finnish league have riders that have a UK team and when you think about the money, it's not a surprise where the guys will ride and who will suffer. Good thing someone put the Finnish final on the same date as Cardiff! And it's not all that simple if the figures are even when deciding the finishing order. And the coin is last one that decides!
  18. Heard Stekkers say that 1/3 of the Uk meetings have been postponed due to rain this season. Any truth in this?
  19. Even knowing what the Know knows, I still get happy evertime Hans does well! And yeah, it was a poor heat, probably his easiest.
  20. I was at Pori this week for the federation training session. There I saw Jooa Partanen ride a 500cc bike for the third time in his life. He's the current leader of the 80cc series in Finland and winner last year. It looked so easy and beautiful... And on top of that he was on pace with Marko Suojanen, who was riding on his hometrack. And on top of all this, someone said that Henri Ahlbom makes it look even easier, and he's a year younger!
  21. Something like that! Yesterday and today have been the 2nd and 3rd summer days in Finland. It's not been so great, it should get better now though... Why?
  22. I have as much cold beer as I did a week ago, loads of snacks, half a dozen bottles of different kind of single malt whiskys opened and a carton of red wine as a left over. The GP is on free from the gp website and all is in place. Oh, and I also have a temp of 38,5 and feel worse than a squirrel that was ran over by a truck.
  23. Thank you for your comments, especially the not so encouraging private emails! He's home now and so is Heli... I do have a back up plan though, I've booked him a place at a friends house in Sweden. He has two daughters and lives 200 meters from the local track. But we'll give it a go ourselves first.
  24. Dont think you need to pay anything extra when organizing a FIM event, the riders money is listed in the FIM rulebook. Then you pay a meeting FIM license or similar that includes the FIM officials and their hotel bill. Thats about 2-3k. But when talking about FIM BSI/IMG event, thats a different story.
