Missing riders being british wasn't the point I was trying to make. It was the missing riders, QUALITY riders...
-
On this I'm with a bunch of british speedway fans who think this whole Euro Champs is just a (thought I'd say another but I dont know if theres any?) political move by the EUM to gain power in the world of governing bodies. I went trough the qualis earlier and noticed that not one brit took part in this! It's nice that Laukkanen was third, but look what TNT said earlier. This is great news for finnish speedway if it gets any publicity, because the general public doesn't know how little this comp actually means in the world of speedway. Laukkanen won his semi on a track he's ridden for over twenty years, and he's no stranger in Lonigo either. Well done the Dryml's, I do hope Lukas is really coming back after a lean spell! The wildcard scenario is something that I find a bit odd, because the GP is run by BSI with FIM, where as the UEM are trying to live under/compete with FIM in my opinion. Oh, and I dont think winning this comp has made JBJ one of the top15 in the world...

Why would anyone say a thing like that? You honestly think 4000+ post's in roughly 200 days is too much... I wonder how many of them are anti Nicholls/Richardson...

Can anyone help with the line-up for monday @ Prague?

Confirmed Wildcards Are.....
f-s-p replied to SCB's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
You just keep on going... Maybe they should do the GP with 8 riders next year, because no one else is good enough/they havent qualified. -
My little brother is living in Prague at the moment, he said that a ticket to see Champions league (Sparta Praha?) was 160 euro's. I just could not believe it. We saw German Bundesliga last year for 14 euros a piece in the Berlin Olympic Stadion. Also last year people were turning around to get back home from a German Bundesliga meeting (speedway), when they were asked to pay 13 euros instead of the usual 12. Alltough the Euro semi @ Seinäjoki was 15 euros, it had the biggest crowd of the season over here. Which was kind of surprising I might add...
-
And another co-driver here in Finland as well. Not a good weekend for rallying. In this years finnish rally the ticket for the main service area was 5 euros for the weekend, rallypass for every stage 45 and SS killeri cost 15 with other stages 12. It's a ripoff. It's been getting more expensive every year, and even when I lived there in Jyväskylä, I couldnt be bothered. Next year even less.
-
Thats what I thought a year ago, but it didn't happen. Why would it now, there's not one good enough! I would kick out Sullivan and replace him with possibly Zagar, Chrzanowski for KK and maybe Andersen for Bjerre or PUK. All the others are good enough to stay.

Breathtaking moves from Scotty against Sullivan @ Eskilstuna GP

Don't they say that when it's too good to be true... But who has these mega budgets? Crump, Trick, Gollob, Adams...??? Richardson maybe 2nd tier same as Nicholls... Yet even Crump told in the Star how overwhelmed he was with all the toys Trick has. Same kind of stuff (the MaiKai incident) has been in football for years. This year a chinese businesman bought a finnish football team, fired the coach and brought in a dutch coach with 5? dutch players, one of them previously suspected of fixing a game. Anyway, they lost their first game 0-8, and it's been reported that millions were made in illegal bets troughout Asia. This was 3 months ago, and the investigations are yet to finish. Infact there's another game they are currently investigating as well, with the same team.
-
Have I heard this before?? Oh yeah, you've said it on every post in this thread Boooooooring Chances are Trick will fail 2006, chances are... Nicholls is an asset for the series, a great rider who becomes the the greatest when he sorts his gating.
-
I know they're not father and son, and not an uncle either. I was told Pekka lives in Seinäjoki at the mo, other than that..? Tero Aarnio is more closely been linked to IOW recently, but its been quiet for a month now. We'll see what happens.

The Holta Kaspzak Incident In Poland
f-s-p replied to tarabanko's topic in International World of Speedway
Kicked Holta while he was still laying on the ground after taking KK down. Several times I believe before Ryan Sullivan ran to the rescue from the pits. I think Daddy Kasprzak was involved also. -
Jari Mäkinen said he suffered some bad luck in this meeting. He hit a rut on one heat which he was leading, scored one point in that one. In his last? he was leading when Niklas Larsson came from behind and took his leg away and got excluded. He was involded in a pileup with the danes in one, and Steffen Andersen kicked his bike and got a warning in one heat. Sounded very incident packed meeting! But it was a good experience for him. He got to the final when two danes were disqualified because of the nation limit from the semi.

Apparently after some talks between Harri Heikkilä from the track racing committee and Reijo Kivelä from the SML in yesterdays Long Track Championships (won by Jari Ahlbom before Janne Koivula) the previous decision not to enter the SWC next has been withdrawn, and a finnish team will be entered in to the competition next year. Jari Mäkinen was 14th in the U16 Euros at Rybnik today. Well done!
-
EDIT: I really need to keep this computer shut saturday nights... Jari Mäkinen has made it in to the final at Rybnik in the Euros, so one more achievement is on it's way!

Third round of the finnish series was cancelled a week ago, because the organizers were unable to find a required doctor to cover the meeting. Common opinion here in Finland is that this was a lame excuse, and the real reasons for it might remain unknown forever. The club that was supposed to organize the meeting doesn't have the best recent history in finnish speedway, they've pulled out at the last minute from every competiteve level of finnish league speedway in the past five different years. The round has now been given to the Pori club, and will be held 10th of September. In a 1st division meeting a month ago the Pori club in association with some veteran motorcyclists made a bit of a history, when more than 1000 fans saw the meeting at Yyteri. Last years Individual final at Seinäjoki was witnessed by 550 people, and the same amount of public saw the Scandinavian final three weeks ago at the same track. Finnish track racing committee had decided in it's meeting held 6th of August, that it would be best for finnish speedway to track a team in next years SWC. This decision was then handed forward to the higher echelons in the finnish union, the SML. It was their decision NOT TO APPLY FOR A TEAM PLACE IN THE SWC, because there's no chance of going trough the first qualifier. Similar decision to overrule a track racing committee's decision late last year led to the resignation of Matti Pöysä from the committee. Calendar proposed for approval was changed dramatically, and Pöysä decided it was enough. He has since become a certified FIM referee, and later he was approved by the governing Russian body to be a ref in their meetings. So in these times when we have... - for the first time A MEDAL coming from the longtrack GP series! - last year we had a GP rider! - last year a rider in the TOP6 in the U16 Euro Champs! - this year 3 riders in the Swedish U16 league, top of the averages I might add! - A finalist in the U16 World's! - 2 riders in the Swedish Elitserien and 4 in Allsvenskan! - 1 in Elitleague and 1 in Premiere ready to step up! ...the men in charge decide there's no point in participating!
-
Yeah well, that's something I knew a year ago (and I'm a bit sorry about that) But this year I can remember everything from Oxford, only shame is the souvenirs (and the track sample) from the track at Oxford! You remember where they're at? Because I do! You guys were great at Oxford, and we had a great time, cheers!

Sorry Mateusz, it's Nokia that connect's people! Alltough I have a hunch what you're after
