From the rulebook: "Each FMNR of an 80cc Speedway meeting (Qualifying Rounds, Semi-Finals and Final) is guaranteed at least one rider from its Federation in this meeting. One or more qualifying meetings or heats will lead up to the final meeting, the number or qualifying meetings or heats will be decided by the CCP Bureau at least one month before the final meeting. The qualifying meetings or heats will be held one or two days before the final meeting." Now is that saying that all the rounds add up to one meeting??? The youngster's should ride a final as well, but I think havent in the quali's. In the Euro's the rule was that from both semi each nation could get only it's top5 to the next round.
 -
Dont want/mean to take anything away from anyone, but thats how it goes. Saw with my own eyes in Elgane last autumn in the U16 Euro's... Jari and Kalle meet in their third and AP and Kalle in their last ride. What would YOU do? What did Hampel do? What did Penhall do..?
 -
Seems that the finns have three riders in the semis. SMS just told me that despite one fall, Aki-Pekka Mustonen rode F,0,2,2,3 and was the last to go trough from the third semi. Who could have believed that the finns would actually have a chance of team riding in an individual event on a world championship level semifinal??!!
 -
I've just been on the phone to Poland. Jari was extremely happy to get trough to the semis. It's been burning hot down there, around +30 celsius, and loads of water has been consumed. By his words the track is soft, just like it was a couple of years ago. All the finns are staying at the track, playing football with the security people to pass the time. Sounds a lot better than waking up at 5 o'clock to get to work
 -
Excellent!!! Where did you get these?

There's this swamp football world cup somewhere in Finland next weekend. I just read from text-tv, that the promoter is more than happy, actually quite proud to be serving the worlds worst food in his "Berlusconi cafeteria". They have Berlusconi soup that has kebab meat in it, and Chirac chicken wings, smallest in the world. 6000 players are coming worldwide!! After all this food stuff, there was a poll in a finnish tabloid. Question was which one is more of a moron, Chirac or Berlusconi. Presented were ten facts from both of them. Most of the facts were about their controversial finances and how they have managed to avoid prosecutions (= immunity) while in power. It was appalling reading to say the least... Anyway almost 8000 readers answered, and the verdict was that Berlusconi is the biggest moron of the two with 90% backing him! I think he was in the top 5 of his qualifier, with 8+1 getting through from the other one. Check the link in the earlier post, go to internationella tävlingar. There's a link there...

We have a few finns there as well. Check out: http://www.speedwayresultat.com/2005/index.html go 80cc north and see snittlista. Kalle Katajisto is #1 in averages. Appe Mustonen ( EC #6 -04) had two nightmare meetings with machinery problems, but managed an OK avg. On the south group we have Jari Mäkinen, who's ninth in the avg's without ANY bonuspoints. He's the most experienced one internationally, and has now some new equipment that "fits him like a glove"! They all have one more try next year, but I really see Appe or Jari in the semi, possibly in the final this year. The track was used maybe two years ago for a similar event, so thats one bonus for these guys. All pictures are welcomed by me!

				Danish Grand Prix - Copenhagen
f-s-p replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Damit!!! this was suppose to be my story... Allowed to be tested by Lindback, according to my sources. Nothing came out of it. Quote from the speedway star: " Tony plans to fly with BA". Story itself said Brian Andersen does his engines, and no-one else this year. Lots of interesting stuff on this page, need to catch up quick. The guy who was saying there's carbon in Tricks frame... where?! I've been staring the frame for good 45min this year, and the only carbon I've found were in the saddle holders... The frame is build in a way, that it flexes from a point where you want it to. Also with a completely adjustable front end geometry it gives unseen possibilities to adjust it to any track. I believe it's abilities are well known within the rider community, and it gives Trick a huge mental advantage. The name of the frame is actually "Rickardsson-Penske" frame, as said by mr Trick himself at the Cardiff press conference. -
I dont know. Last year we went to Kuusankoski, I got a A4 black&white print of the ridingscheme. This year at Pori it was the same. I have the Excel spreadseet of the meeting... The clubs really dont put too much effort in to programs currently.

Kaj Laukkanen was still suffering the aftermath of his spill on wednesday, when his bike landed on his leg after his first start of the season is Denmark. Add to that EF in his first heat, so the A-final was gone. After nearly 1 year of badmouthing the finnish tracks (mainly by me ) the track at Kuusankoski got a thumbs up from everyone. Huge effort was put into it during the week, and the winner Juha Hautamäki gave it 10+/10! Well done!!! Who Met Who At Cardiff?
f-s-p replied to batesie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I saw both of you then... Addy! I dont remember seeing you (ever)? Not even in Bydgosz last year, alltough I got your message... This time we even behaved nice, which is something we quite didn't succeed in Poland -
I take it then than Jawa's are more powerful than GM's. Because in league racing the tracks are deeper, and have more grip. In the GP tracks are slick, and with a less powerful engine you have better traction... Honestly I think it's the tuner, ans how a rider tell's him to do the engines. Second, it's a mental thing.

Within our 4 days I met or saw: Rico HenryW the Pugwashes Steve Turner Midnight Lady Kevin Hammond Joanne Splatty +James StorminNorman SwervinMervin I think it must have been more, but as the meetings during the week progressed, my memory got a bit more selective... -

				Cardiff Attendance
f-s-p replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Maybe he meant the trophies... I think the organizer pays the prize money, at least in other FIM events. Maybe BSI have a special deal? It was nice to meet you HenryW, after Bydgoszh I had no idea I'd seen or talked to you! LOL !! -
Don't know when this track was layed, week before or few days. But that's how the one offs are made. Very hard, very slick. So when they have the interval, they only have to put the loose dirt back towards the inner line. Can't see the one offs made deeper than this was, and if they get in to trouble with it during the meeting, they cant do anything with it. I thought the first heats were boring, but after Norris got excluded, anything that was missing from the racing, was given back with the atmosphere.

How much is it then? I'm doing the driving this weekend, and I have no idea? -
It's the same places as during the meeting for photographers. But I think practise shots are somewhat boring Weren't you at Eskilstuna? I think it gives a good answer to your question. There were platform's in each bend for taking pic's, but halfway trough there were guys by the tapes between the fences. I think that's how it goes at Cardiff as well. I've been to practise a couple of times. It's a good place to meet the rider's, they are all fairly relaxed, and you might even chat a little with them. Because come raceday, their all in their motorhomes thinking about the meeting.

Iris123 I think you were asking some time ago, why do the scandinavians have their own qualifier. Well, I still dont know why, but I do think that others should feel lucky (at least this year, maybe next) that they do. 1. Antonio Lindback (GP rider, top8, Swedish nat. team) 2. Jonas Davidsson (Elit league and Elitserien) 3. Fredrik Lindgren (Elit league and Elitserien, GP wildcard) 4. Kenneth Bjerre (Elitserien, Elit league, Superleague, Jawa works rider, #1 GP reserve, and top8 one might add + Danish nat. team) 5. Morten Risager (Elit league, some other leagues as well Superleague?) 6. Henrik Moeller (Super league) 7. Andreas Messing, S 9 Pkt. Res. 8. Eric Andersson one, S 9 Pkt. 9. Sebastian Aldén ( Elitserien and Elitleague) 10. Rune Sola (GP wildcard, a bit far fetched I know) 11. Mikke Bjerk, N 5 Pkt. 12. Jesper Kristiansen, DK 5 Pkt. 13. Casper Wortmann, DK 3 Pkt. 14. Tero Aamio (Wins other finns by a mile, loses to Swedes by two) 15. Rene Lethinen, FIN 2 Pkt. 16. Joni Keskinen, FIN 0 Pkt. I think that some major credits to some riders are STILL lacking!

OK, so to rephrase the question, where on the internet. Bacause speedwayworld.tv does not have them, and the fim site is absolut crap! I need them because I'm writing a report of the meeting, and need a source that can be traced...
 -
Where did you get these?!! Somewhere on the internet or were you there?

I dont have the time to read everything now, but I'll be back later on. Some comments Best GP I've seen live or on TV, loads of passing and bold riding especially from Scott N. Nicki and Crump had a couple of good fights, and I thought Jason rode as hard as Nicki. Many incidents looked worse live than on TV, including Jason vs Nicki and Nicki vs. Bjarne. I was talking to Nicki after the meeting while the danish tv was waiting for me to move on , and he said he had apologisied to Bjarne. Apparently (Nickis words) Jason had slightly ran Bjarne wide, and just as Nicki was entering the turn Bjarne slightly overcooked it and there was contact. Bjarne's answer had been, that he would have done the exact same thing. I thought the track was good with grip, for a GP, but Billy Janniro's comment was: " The track is rubbish, no grip!"
