  1. Everything else can be done during the weekend while in Pardubice, accommondation is the problem. Unless of course you are happy to throw away 200 a anight for a double. First year we stayed in Chrudim, 10km south from the track. Really nice little town with a train connection to Pardu.
  2. Having written himself in to the series before the series starts, one becomes a GP rider. If you decline to ride in a gp and try to ride somewhere else, the FIM will see to it that you wont. For some time and and with a nice fine. EDIT: the fine was not in the gp rulebook, but if I had written myself in and said I'll ride in some local meet in Finland instead of the GP, the FIM would revoke my start permit for the friday before to the following tuesday + kick my ärse out of the SGP. rubbishrollsdownhill... Fim, fim europe, fmn's...
  3. Thanks. The bank holiday thing dont work in Finland. Think we had 4 extra days off work last year, this year they all allocate to weekends!
  4. 22 riders enlisted for the Finnish final with four new names to add to my list of the past three years!! Tomi Kirilov (Tampere) makes a comeback with Miko Ronkainen (Oulu), Matti Isoaho (Oulu) and Timo Smed (Oulu) as "new" riders.
  5. So it's sunday and monday for the Euro final? Whats that about, the supp regs are not yet online....
  6. I've only been involved a decade, but the fact still is, that UK has a special role in the world of speedway. They are the one's that enable Aussies and yanks and other to come to Europe by giving them 30-40 matches a year and upkeep. As example's Darky and Holder, dont think they moved to Motala or Torun from down under and started from there? I'm not far off the mark when I say that they came to UK, were good enough and then the dorrs in Sweden and Poland opened up. Also during this decade, tuesdays have been Sweden and sundays Poland. Denmark with their STRONG work with youth is now a growing force and will shake things in the next few years. Less than a decade ago they were in a situation where there was no Superleague coming for the following season! Now it's a working system with most top riders and good crowds. Polands plan to take more racenights might just as well backfire badly this coming season. I think it's a huge risk that they are taking. Been hearing this from outside of speedway as well, that they are crazy for sports and it doesnt have to be speedway... Other side of the coin is, that in all leagues there are shaky/dodgy teams that dont pay and are in danger of folding mid season, any season. I'm a bit conservative in some things, but there are things you should be very careful with messing around!
  7. He's met me and been somewhat regularly in touch... I've ruined him!
  8. Yes. It has nothing to do with the fact that he's the best German and they need him. EDIT: Or the best german, what ever...
  9. Was gonna say it's mentioned in the supplementary regs, but for last years Torun it was not. So I guess it's down to the jury, but I expect Warsaw to be on at 2 PM because thats when the other meeting is supposed to start.
  10. Where is this list from? A riders Facebook site? EDIT: NOW the rider list for the series can be found from where it should be, but my original problem was that a ride list was "published", yet not anywhere to be seen, or sent to.
  11. You happen to know where the live meetings By svemo (other than league meetings) are listed so one could find them? Looking for the Östersund quali.
  12. OneSport now has 11 meetings a year. Whats on GoSpeeds plate? EDIT: 9 to 11 meetings
  13. As this is basically copypaste from sportowefakty late last week, can you please share/add to it By giving out the name?
  14. The problem with accepted practises is that if someone wants to act differently they can. And since they are only messing with accepted practises, they get away with it because they are not brwaking rules. And thats not right... as seen in the past 7 months.
  15. ... and now you've started selling it as well!
  16. Well that could have changed then.EDIT: I browsed through the sporting code and found no info on the subject. I think it should have been said clearly. Järf has been covered here, Tani is taking a year out as well. Norola seemed like the next one, but didnt really impress pointswise last weekend. Kankkunen has increased his speed steadily in the past few years, but he's an older gentleman already.
  17. Never heard of that rule before, doesnt mean it cant be.
  18. Did some stats early in the week, ain't that rosy in Sweden anymore either even with N. Svensson and Ledström coming through. They've had 2 Isracingserien meetings with around 24 riders. Of them 6 were foreign and Serenius and Fastesson are closer to 70 than 60 years of age... Enlisting for the Finnish final has just opened, hoping to get 16 riders together. In the past 3 years 33 different riders enlisted for the Finnish final.
  19. Järf is not interested in doing the full WC series, so he wasn't given a quali slot either. Which in my opinion is the correct move. Shame in the way that he's a TOP15 rider in the world capable of reaching things in his chosen sport...
  20. This just might be tougher of the two quali's? Norola might shake some feathers... So the quali on sat, challenge on sun and a revenge race in gävle on mon.
  21. If it's a rule thats in place before the series starts, fine. Some rules are stupid. I thought the ref had bottled it.
  22. If he's given his name wrong in his license application (or it's been misread) then thats what we'll call him... 550 paid to get in and VIP's + other freebies on top of that. 1k was mentioned as a target. But like me, many people thought it was just too far. On the other hand people in Lapland turn up if something is happening, just because something is happening. So I guess they'll be a bit disappointed. Personally I spoke with Aakko on 29th August and got the impression he would miss yet another season. He didn't, but maybe his injuries and slow recovery played a part. I mean the Aakko I know should have walked heats 18, 14 and 1.
