  1. Can't say im at all surprised by what ive read today. There is no doubt that Darcy is one of the most naturally talented riders the sport has had but ive thought for years that he doesnt have the right personality to make it to the very top. This latest disaster just confirms that. Yes he is a young lad on the other side of the world but he has been allowed to get away with things for too long. Perhaps if he had been nurtured properly and discliplined by the appropriate people for past circumstances it wouldnt have come to this. As it is,i think he should have a lengthy ban of a minimum 6 months from all motor sport and not be given a wildcard for next year.
  2. If they had looked into the planning before they submitted a team in the nl they would not be in this predicament now.
  3. I too have said for a couple of years he should be replaced. I put my views on the forum and quite a few people agreed with it, yet i got banned from the forum for not backing the manager. I pointed out several occasions were he had failed to make decisions in meetings which ultimately might have made a difference to the results. Fair enough for the first couple of years he was new to management and just learning the ropes but it appears that very little has changed.
  4. If the promotion had looked into groupon schemes before they jumped in without fully understanding what they were getting into people wouldnt have been able to abuse it. They should have had a list with the voucher codes that had been purchased. These should have been ticked off once they had been presented. Perhaps a separate table could have been set up for groupon customers to prevent hold ups at the booths. If this was followed the abuse would have been prevented. Its hardly rocket science is it? Also the idea of marketing is surely to attract new customers who have not been to speedway before, bit silly of the person running the devils twitter page to advertise the groupon on there. Many regulars would not have been aware of it had it not been publicised on there. That was financial suicide as the regulars who would have paid full price were encouraged to buy a groupon enabling them to get in for half price!!
  5. Plymouth cancelled the groupon. I tried to use mine and was told i couldnt and that i had to get a refund through groupon. I wasnt very happy to say the least!!
  6. And the plymouth promotion messed up Smart and Reade's season by signing them for an nl team that they didnt even have planning consent for. Hence the riders didnt get the track time they thought they would get, which in turn would have increased their confidence and now both are lost to the sport as they were dropped by their other clubs. The Plymouth promotion have a lot to answer for wouldnt you say?
  7. There was a healthy crowd there last night and a fair few somerset fans. It was an entertaining meeting until the unfortunate incident with Robson, which was a horrific looking crash. Best wishes to him for a speedy recovery. It was very distasteful of a few plymouth fans near us to cheer when he went down. No place in the sport for people like that!!
  8. I think both Smart and Reade were victims of the Demons not fulfilling their home meetings. The lads were likely to have increased in confidence riding in the lower division and getting wins under their belts. The lack of fixtures has therefore had knock on effects to their other clubs. I feel for the lads and wish them all the best. Its a shame they have been let down as im sure there would have been other teams that would have wanted them at the start of the season and Stoneman and Shanes would also have been likely to have been fixed up elsewhere.
  9. I have never claimed to be a "true Devils supporter". I am and always have been a speedway fan. I don't support any team, I have favourite riders that I follow and I have been to the SBA most weeks since Plymouth reopened as it is my nearest track. I appreciate what a great racing circuit the SBA is, I have been to most tracks in the country and rarely see better racing, however, I pay my admission and feel I have the right to comment on what I see, just as everyone else is entitled to their opinion. As a neutral, I am perhaps not as biased towards Plymouth as many others though.
  10. The manager is now in his 3rd season in charge and makes strange decisions time after time. Rarely do the reserves that have been scoring take 7 rides as he chooses instead to give riders that havnt been scoring 4 rides. This has happened several times this season home and away. The riding order has also not worked in Plymouth's favour and should have been addressed within the first couple of meetings. The pairing of Newman and Jensen was ridiculous. Neither of them ever looking to team ride together and on more than 1 occasion they were lucky to avoid knocking each other off as they both seem to want to stick to the inside line. Im afraid it was highly unlikely that Roynon was going to do much last night. I believe its been several years since he last rode at the SBA and due to him being dropped ,i would imagine his confidence was fairly low and will be even worse now. I do hope he quickly regains the form we know he is capable of but i just cant see that happening at the moment.
  11. Wow thanks for the info. Have just purchased one meaning myself and my partner get in for £5.50 each instead of £14 each. Also sent to a friend as a gift. Wasnt very clever to advertise it on the Plymouth speedway website though, as they will now be losing money from regulars who would have made full price!
  12. But not premier league meetings and like i said he was coming back from a lengthy injury, which takes most riders awhile to get back to full fitness.
  13. But they were elite league, so not really a true comparison and he was just getting back into it after a lengthy injury.
  14. Still no news from Plymouth? You would have thought they would have looked into the planning regulations before they submitted a team. I feel for the riders that have signed for them. Riders like Smart and Reade would have benefitted from extra track time, possibly increasing their confidence and hence making their performances better for their other clubs.
  15. So if thats your way of thinking, then you are as much of a cheat as the Kurtz brothers, who you are accusing of cheating. Bit hypocritical and far from a sporting attitude.
  16. I thought only programmed rides counted towards heat 15, so thats probably why? He should have had 7 rides though and taken 1 of Newmans or Simotas rides. Bad management that that didn't happen. I wasn't there but from what i've read I would have put Jensen on the tactical instead of Ben.
  17. So there definately weren't any bikes going around the track at anytime between 1.30 and 4.30 last Saturday afternoon?
  18. Yes i have friends that live in Plympton and they said that they could hear bikes for a couple of hours on saturday afternoon!!
  19. [quote name="Penny Cross" post="2423447" timestamp="1396286219" The NL meeting was called off on the Friday, yet riders were practising all Saturday afternoon!
  20. I think it was from a challenge meeting the year before Plymouth joined the premier league?
  21. From conversations and messages i have had from people, believe me i am not the only person who is fed up with your constant remarks about Lemon. Some people just view the topics and don't wish to post on them. You do seem to be a bit obsessive about him. No i am not Mark, i dont even know him.
