Isn’t he already a member of “The Club” by being owner/promoter of Sheffield? -

Unless Covid or similar bites again there’s very little chance of the Leicester promotion going from profit to loss next year. -

The lux levels projected by the current lights are too low for TV coverage once the sun begins to set. The improved lighting will enable more flexibility in planning for Lions fixtures to be considered throughout the season rather than being limited to the short period of weeks when maximum daylight hours prevail. -
Agreed. Unfortunately two wrongs don’t make a right.

Economically, a four month regular season wouldn’t be sufficient.

Are you saying current engines rev quicker higher than the electric equivalent which would/could cause problems by the electric motors not being powerful enough to cut through/move grippy surfaces?

Clearly an experiment for a new format for next years play -offs. Idea is to give teams a chance of beating the club that scored most points during the regular season. (Some would call that team “the league winners”) Under the new format the team that finishes the season with most points gets to choose their semi-final opponent. Then should they overcome this hurdle, they will ride the first leg v the winners of the other semi final at their place before holding the second leg on a neutral track. Of course this is only a joke as any sport that wishes to be taken seriously & considered professional would never propose such a ludicrous scenario. - or would they?

Mildenhall v Leicester Double Header. Sunday 23rd October.
1 valve replied to Bunce's topic in National League Speedway
23.55 meeting finished. Got to be a record for latest finish of a speedway meeting ? And another example of atrocious organisation in the world of British Speedway. -
Selling tickets for an event that’s knowingly not going to happen is at the least “immoral” & most probably “illegal” but being speedway I’ll settle for “incompetence”. Not a lot I can do other than decide not to buy the 6 season tickets we intended to do for next year. They just don’t deserve that kind of support.

What time was the meeting called off? we brought tickets online @ 4.30pm. There has been absolutely no rain in Leicester today so it’s very hard to imagine that the track has been anything but unfit the whole day. A total disregard for the paying public.

The burgers served inside stadium are ok - chips ok too. That’s about yer lot

And so long as the weather doesn't interfere, you'll see some good racing from many of the riders involved - Great to see Doyley back at BP!

Sheffield vs. Belle Vue Grand Final 2nd Leg 13/10/22

How surprising. Sheffield fans think the referee made wrong decisions Belle Vue fans think the referee made correct decisions Love Opinions - no matter how biased ... As neutral, looking at the decisions by the same ref over two legs it looks like Sheffield had the rough end of the stick, and maybe at a sufficient level to have made a difference to the eventual outcome. - but maybe is a big word & we will never know what "might" have been - re-run of races are hardly predictable. So, Congratulations to Lemmo & the Aces on their win ...about time & to the Tigers, thanks for making it a great final, you definitely played your part! -
Isn't it the case that GI as a business buy and run stadiums until they have the opportunity of selling the land the stadium is situated on for housing or similar building development. During the intervening years they charge rent to users i.e. speedway/ Greyhound racing / football clubs and in some cases even play a part in promoting a particular sport. This latter involvement provides some sort of credence to them being interested in finding a new stadium where the displaced sport(s) can move to. But of course, this never happens because when condensed down, GI business plan is to buy sites that in time will be ripe for development - Period. Put simply, once GI get hold of a stadium, the closure clock has started to tick.

Strange behaviour to adopt if you want your views to be considered as fair (and reasonable & realistic) by the person on the receiving end of a rant? -
