It was a poor decision and he knows it, however it was a split second decision. Magic made a mistake and slowed up Emil coming out of the bend, Doyle carried a lot of speed running higher in the dirt line and soon as he straightened up you could see he had a lot of speed and with Emil moving over to give magic room, Doyle had to either get off the throttle completely (which could have been deemed the right decision) or cut back to the inside line to avoid hitting Emil on the straight. I think soon as Doyle came into the corner he thought magic and Emil had more speed and would drift out but they clamped down tight and Doyle just had to try and make the best of a bad judgement call. It was all made from the exit of the bend beforehand, people making out like he just completely dive bombed it which isn’t the case.
