2015 Sgp & Swc Calendar
theflyingkiwi replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Go onto google and search for the 2015 Lotto Warsaw Speedway Grand Prix. Should come up then. Just tried it myself and they have taken the page down... Looks like we spoilt their big announcement. -

Best Speedway Track In The World?
theflyingkiwi replied to Stoke Potter's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Has to be Bydgoszcz for me, shame about the other facilities are not up to scratch there. -
Couldn't see that working, if a rider crashed out injured who was in the running for the World Championship it would end all chances. Then we could have a situation where riders were riding injured and being a danger to others.
-
Hampel has proved though that he is a World Class rider apart from the poor season that he is currently having and the season that he was seriously injured he has finished on the rostrum three times since 2010. Lindgren has qualified once on merit in the top 8 and once through the challenge. Everyone is so quick to go on about the amount of wildcards Harris has received off BSI yet seem to forget Lindgren has received the same amount.
-
What I meant with my previous post was that I would rather see Batchelor over someone who has been handed 5 wildcard picks.
-
I feel Batchelor may having something to add to the series. Just have to look at his form at Copenhagen was by far the best rider that night. Lindgren on the other hand has had 5 wildcard picks for the GP series and only qualified twice through merit, one top 8 and a place through the GP challenge. I do think that a Swede has to be in the GP series though.

Gorzow Gp-30th August 2014

A Swede will get a wildcard spot, if none finish in the top 8. Can't see BSI not putting a Swede in the series as a regular when they have two GPs in Sweden. -
Patryk Dudek Tests Positive For Banned Substance
theflyingkiwi replied to lastword's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
It would be interesting to know how often these drug tests are carried out. If his B sample test positive then I think he should be made an example of, after all Kennett got 6 months for the silencers. IMO this is far worse. -
An Alternate Gp Format?
theflyingkiwi replied to a topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Every race matters in the current format, if you go back to the old format it will be far to tactical riders not going for the win but instead racing for the position that will suit them further into the meeting. -
World Cup Final 2nd August 2014
theflyingkiwi replied to mickthemuppet's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
What vital experience would the youngsters get from trailing at the back? Surely that would be detrimental to their progression just look at Tai after the 2010 season went backwards. While there is all this excitement of of a 'five year plan' I cannot see the BSPA backing it, why would they? Speedway in this country is it on its knees and riding on the continent would surely take away further from the diluted product that is British Speedway. Also would a company really back the national team when the most media covered event in the calender is blanket sponsored by Monster? I cannot see that happening. -

Poland benefited from the Joker last year and Denmark tonight. Its time to drop the Joker its ridiculous. Congratulations Denmark great ride by NKI. -
World Cup Final 2nd August 2014
theflyingkiwi replied to mickthemuppet's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think it will be a lot closer than many people think. I think Holder might struggle tonight, didn't look that comfortable on Thursday despite his score and then he was only really racing against the Swedes. If I had to put any money I would say Denmark, Poland, Team GB & Australia. -
World Cup Final 2nd August 2014
theflyingkiwi replied to mickthemuppet's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Stead did have a brief spell riding for Polonia Bydgoszcz in 2008 and he must be full of confidence after Saturday night, if Tai can do what Hancock did at the Race Off we could be in with a massive shout. -
World Cup Final 2nd August 2014
theflyingkiwi replied to mickthemuppet's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Usually Harris always finds more when he is riding with the Union Jack on his race jacket. -
IMO blooding youngsters in the World Cup would be detrimental to their progression. Like many previous comments have said there needs to be more international meetings on the continent for the younger lot to ride in so not only do they gain International experience but they learn about different tracks. This is a professional sport at the end of the day and that means putting out the best riders that are available, how many other sports would have fielded a team of international novices to gain experience in the world cup? I for one will be getting behind the boys, speedway in this country is on it's ar*e. At least Saturday night and the upcoming Final have provided a little excitement.

Banning Dangerous Riders
theflyingkiwi replied to Star Lady's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I remember at Wimbledon when they raced Carmathen and Cory Blackman (I think) was disqualified from his next ride due to his actions during one race. -
Save Mildenhall Stadium-online Petition
theflyingkiwi replied to adz_mft's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I read the response a couple of times this morning and am somewhat surprised that planning permission can be rescinded if someone one day makes a complaint. I understand completely that if it is a new build or the circumstances of that stadium change then a complaint should have merit. Having visited West Row a quite a few times when Wimbledon rode there during 2002-05, the one thing that struck me about the place was the noise from the RAF base outweighed the noise of the Speedway track. Could a complaint be made against that as well, or is it only minority sports that suffer?
