  1. Grassed again or Tarmac? So that doesn't mean Grass or Tarmac?
  2. Perhaps another person will sign the lease? Perhaps Brandon Estates will run it, once Sandhu replaces the lights and shale with what's is face being promoted to promoter, not just manager.... Possible??
  3. Yes, the way it was handled was/is the issue....
  4. It's imperitive that the Bees come to tapes this season, otherwise we're down to 8 again, no bigger than before.... Surely, the BSPA can sort Belle Vue and Leicester, but then fail to assist Coventry.. Come on BSPA, don't let the Bees down....
  5. Perhaps the GP's will go from strength to strength, to a point where GP riders will be almost a separate entity... Something like 14 to 15 Rounds, bigger sponsors, bigger prizes, and GP riders won't need to compete at league level... League racing will be free of GP riders and will be able to flourish with riders not zipping off fortnightly to do the GP's, except for perhaps the qualifiers......
  6. Maybe a lot of the anti-DH brigade will come back now..... I don't see any reason why they wouldn't, it's about as DH-LESS as it possibly can be now......
  7. I think an air fence with split panels would work, shame you can't put drawings up, as I don't think you understood what I meant...
  8. Your team, but they're not your riders.... You turn up to watch "your" team, only to find out that your number 1 is actually riding in Sweden tonight and is replaced by a rider that rode against your team last week!! Your teams number 4 is also not there... He got injured last night riding for one of his "other" teams...!! You also have your number 3 absent, he's has a meeting tomorrow in Poland, and his Polish team insist he's there the day before for team practise, so you have to have a "wobbler" guest from a lower league to replace him!! And you wonder why people fall out with speedway, and why it's hard to get new people to attend for a second time....
  9. Maybe air fence panels should be in two sections, an upper and lower bit, then there would/could be 4 anchor points, so the bike hitting the upper section would not deform the lower section that the riders slide under....??
  10. DH = Sandhu Darcy = Horton eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!!
  11. Wasn't there a figure of eight speedway track in Australia once? The bikes were set up differently, IE exhausts and footrests? Seem to remember Steve Regeling talking to me about it once, many years ago??
  12. Did Nikolai Klindt win an award last night at that sports do at the Leicester Tigers ground? Where Alan Birchenall had his heart attack? Noticed his name on the wall of fame there??
  13. And WH Smiths in Leicester, always half a dozen SS in there....
  14. Does the name "Promotor" put it into a bad light with non speedway folk? Think wrestling, etc..... Loses its sincerity a bit?
  15. I have often thought that there must be a liquid out there somewhere, that is a water proofer, which could be sprayed onto the track pre rain, then graded in at meeting time...
  16. Yes, the Nokia 6 Something else for the West I believe...
  17. They were the best.... But failed to see the future... Now that they are no longer under Microsoft, and have a manufacturer that is made up of ex Nokia people, with some sound tech, I look forward to their re-launch, it could have a range of phones to market by March 2017.. I am not upgrading until then, even though I could do it now....
  18. Well, it's getting late in the day in the "Premiership Cake Shop" The only cakes left on the shelves now are as follows.... 1) the ones that have been reserved by the early bird shoppers (didn't want to carry um around town all day, will pay and collect later that day) 2) A couple of specialist cakes, celebratory types, etc.. 3) A few "happy shopper" plain sponge cakes.. 4) A few "slight" seconds.. 5) A "handful" of fresh cream cakes, now going a bit watery... So, will they end up in the bin? Be collected? Bought on the cheap?
  19. Not so much the cricket pitches/speedway tracks themselves, it's the attitude of the competitors who perform on them......!
  20. I don't believe that Buster would be in any way involved in the above X-File you've just set out... But, the trio of, [sandhu] [brandon Estates] [Mick Horton] That's a different kettle of fish.. I still think that there is time to reinstate Brandon for the season start, even if at worst, the Bees had to ride "top heavy" with away fixtures through April whilst Brandon was finished off..
  21. And don't forget how expensive darts is to compete.... You need at least 1 set of darts, a spare set of stems and a couple of packs of flights, oh, and a piece of chalk.... Thick end of £75!!!! And the noise!! And finding somewhere to practise, and all those trick dartboards, you know, the tiny slick ones, and then you've got the large ones abroard! Then you need a fully ply lined van, a state of the art workshop, a couple of mechanics, and all that safelty wear, trainers or shoes, big sized shirt.... The costs are astronomical to compete in darts, and then the injuries, since the flights regs were changed, there's so many more serious accidents in darts.....
  22. People said Nokia would never return...... Never say, never....
  23. With regard to other stadiums for Stock Car Racing, what ever happened to Skegness Stadium, over at Ingoldmells?
  24. Dean, this was discussed on this forum last year....... If I remember, most people that were riders/ex riders thought that it would be dangerous with the bikes used now, did you not comment on it last time?? Or am I losing the plot? Cheers Dean......
