2016 Swc Semi's And Final 29/30/july 2016
sparkafag replied to hyderd's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Could see Poland being pretty dominant in Denmark thus leaving Russia heading to the Play-Off with the likelihood being Denmark, Russia, Austrlia and USA – can then strip it down to a 2 team meeting as I don’t think Australia are as strong as either Denmark or Russia, then pick on Russia’s 4th rider, in theory…. All that being said the Denmark team isn’t actually that weak, it isn’t like they are throwing the meeting as both NP and PK have been a bit of a mixed bag this year. -
Yeah, that’s exactly what is going to happen – just like in 2002 when 10 years after Havelock won the World Title a load of kids turned up at Coventry with dreadlocks and ying yang t shirts on….

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?

Well when you put it like that...... Nah still represents the sport quite well and done far more good than two swears -
Thats comparable to the kind of nonsensical gibberish Jepsen Jensen fan comes out with and attempts to position as trolling/funny but in reality - just dense.

2016 Speedway Gp Qualifiers
sparkafag replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It remains what must be one of the most vile meetings to race in as a rider. Be just the thing for a Bjerre or KK to chuck in a good day and p*ss loads of people off. -
If he was injured I do feel genuinely sorry for him, and there is enough of a body of evidence to suggest Harris would race injured but.there is also enough of a body of evidence to suggest that injured or not Bomber has a duff Grand Prix in him, but, he also as the GP previous showed has a decent meeting in him as well. I do feel Harris is assessed in an incredibly odd way at times, this notion of be more better when it comes to the Grand Prix or stop being last or simply sod off and let someone else do it do it is more fun for me as a viewer, I just find incredibly harsh In order to be more better or stop being last he needs to beat better riders, that same logic and those same rules apply re him not being in the Grand Prix, or not consistently being Britains second best rider. If others were better, he wouldnt still be either of those things, it is probably better to direct any anger/fury/criticism at them for him still being better than them. The sad/odd thing is the best thing for Harris probably will be when he isnt in the Grand Prix, Team GB Squad, Elite League and people then say.you know what we could do with Harris

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?

Both mentioned incidents Ward and Hancock - merited the general reaction of supporters and a suspension, their actions were abhorrent and they were rightly slaughtered for it, neither incident was close to "a swear". Woffinden swore and thus far in his career it is the only black mark against him, as in being an actual thing, like a thing that actually impacts a large percentage of people, albeit the impact is marginal and minimal - because choosing which league he races in and meetings he picks isnt actually a thing as such, it isnt a thing that people can genuinely claim they were offended by and if they are/do they are precious at best and robert72 at worst. There isn't actually a basis for this supposed "bad boy of the sport" figure people attempt to portray him as. I don't even think Tai has attempted to put himself in that spot despite one or two on here levelling that at him eg: his hair, tattoos and ear's don't make him a "bad boy of sport". RE the other incidents. It isnt that wrong to reference other incidents in order to contextualise the actions of Woffinden, if anything it puts some perspective on how marginal the incident was when contrast to other "talking points" from other competitors of this family sport So by all means, continue speaking about it, but really what is it achieving.** ** this isnt a tantrumeqsue look at me ala Starman post telling people top stop talking about things, simply a, maybe realise you arent going to change the world sort of post. -

"Are the Danes having a laugh ?. Who in there right mind would want to go into the race off . If the Russians win in Event 1 (not impossible) they could be lumped in the race off with Poland , probably Australia and USA with only 1 place available. Absolute madness" Slightly odd thing to say but that Race Off, if it were to play out like that, looks like the easier meeting to negate, as well as having the benefit of a competitive meeting on the track. -

I find it quite hilarious that Woffinden supposedly reflects poorly on his generation and the sport now in terms of the way he presents himself. I ask again, whats the worst he has done? Saturday night, anything else? I mean it isnt like he is anywhere near the level of the halcyon days of jolly craicstars like Lee, Havelock, Carter, Moran, Cook and Schwartz back in the day when the sport was played out in such Corinthian spirits, days when men were great.... Or he could involve himself in some race fixing to really accelerate himself to the pantheon of greatness -
70 of which are you rambling nonsense the rest are mostly filled with people mocking you and ridiculing you Rab Konopka
-
Robert2.0 average talking about Speedway is a bit like Konopka posting on a Polish forum. Would any one really care...
-
You should go, you might learn a thing or two….
-
How can you preach about the good old days when terraces were full and then claim some moral high ground re a rider swearing. This generation of riders is incredibly tame, if anything they are too bland and boring
-
Is Woffinden even controversial? I am genuinely struggling to think of the controversial incidents he has been involved in?
-
His behaviour and his language though, he has been in the Grand Prix for what? 6 years now and he must have used such language about well…..emm…at least 2 or 3 times, the last time I can actually remember him doing so was when he was speaking about his close friends (Wards) accident. And that behaviour, I mean that behaviour of his, well there was that time when he done that thing….and remember the other thing he done that time and then there was you know, the behaviour things, the behaviour you know.
-
Why though? If that’s who he is why should he change?
-
What do you want people to do? Get all mock outraged and demand Woffiden be kicked out the GP series or removed from the World Cup Squad? Join in with Robert72 and his merry gang and bang on and on about it for months on end? Woffinden swore, the person who is accountable for that is him, just as Lewis Hamilton was for his rants on team radio or tweets saying “to all the haters…I don’t give a f*ck”. You, kids, other fans of the sport etc don’t actually have to like or agree with the conduct or language used by folks like Woffinden, Nicki, Zagar etc they aren’t property of fans. they are allowed a personality if people don't agree with that or dislike their personalities....well tough sh...

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?

Let’s not kid ourselves on and reposition this thread as trolling or people “biting” Robert72 has attempted to give a guy an absolute kicking with zero reply or consequence…it is only when the chance to actually discuss this with Woffinden arose that it turned into supposed "craic". Re being a hero for getting on a bike, Robert72 attempted to take the micky out of Woffinden for his chosen profession earlier in the thread, in Roberts own words, racing a speedway bike is 5 minutes work a week, no big deal. -
For a sport littered with ex World Champions and heroes who have been done on drug charges or murder there is some amount of hand wringing going on here re supposed standards of conduct.

A Suggestion For The Elite League Play-offs
sparkafag replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I don’t mind the format as it is, if a side wants to get their “best” rider to reserve more fool them as it just means their “best” rider will be in less of the important heats, and if they all get their "best" rider to reserve does that not just mean they are equal anyway? The squad rotation has worked ok so far, don’t have a huge issue with it personally, everyone other than Coventry has sort of been advantaged by it during the season. It has probably been a fairer format than one or two sides just having really strong reserves all year while the rest have to struggle on with what they have, given the public bitching about it this year it just seems even more dense that very few spoke about the format of the last few seasons which was, for me anyway was probably worse. -
Belle Vue V Wolverhampton 06-07-2016
sparkafag replied to GregoryM's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Do Speedway fans get to hung up about attendances in stadia and how it appears on TV? What is it being compared to when that stance is taken? There are plenty of other sports shown on TV that don’t fill out the stadium and have swathes of empty seats. A decent example is actually Shale Sharks who ply their trade not that far from Belle Vue, they have a nice, family friendly facility but very often when they are shown on TV their stadium isn’t actually that full, same case with the Rugby Under 20 World Cup, most football games shown from Scotland, Dog Racing and a few others. Speedway isn’t unique in this way re attendances. It isn’t alone in being a sport shown in what is perceived to be flat atmosphere or stadiums that aren’t packed out every week, but like other sports does have occasions that are well attended. I appreciate the simple answer is promote the sports better, but that alone doesn’t marry with massive attendances each week, and in truth that’s ok so in that case sometimes stadiums will look empty, better to have a big stadium that can be packed on occasion than a smaller one that can be sold out IMO . ** ** I appreciate Glasgow was well attended and they have boosted their figures, and more credit to them but it is a tiny facility compared to other stadia. If one side gets a crowd of 2,000 in a small stadia that looks full and another 2,000 in a stadia that looks sparse, it is still 2,000 people -

Take actual situation …twist scenario and rewrite scenario, reinvent scenario and then attempt to impose own scenario, moan when made up scenario isn’t reality . Hilarious.
