Come march April hopefully the Redcar promotion & diamonds former manager/promoter & most successful one since the Ian Thomas days can keep the tees Tyne trophy meeting going & doing so keeping the Newcastle speedway name alive with the hope it comes back to Tyneside one day

What happened to Tom Spencer did he ask to step down or did the promotion make it a tactical change to bring Jody Scott into the side GOOD move tho

There needs to be a cap on what clubs are offering these young riders ( wage wise ) as there getting top dollar money but aren't delivering ( some of them ) & yet a rider who's got years of experience behind... Not mentioning any names had to drop out of racing in the NDL as he was only offered a pittance... The speedway game in the UK is dying big time ... & I've supported the sport for over 50 years but it's on the big decline sadly

That's why I never went to the pairs yesterday & not going to Scunthorpe today as these meetings should be run later in the season like they used to be

Things would have been totally different if that con of a virus never happened which put the speedway back ( COVID ) imo as the team that Rob had put together would have certainly been unbeatable at home & would have definitely pushed for points on the road but that's in the past now & can't see speedway coming back to brough nowadays unfortunately

Yes both a bit reckless but entertaining when on track Rob senior was the better rider of the two tho imo

Hi all Newcastle speedway fans if anyone is interested in going to Bellevue for the British GP on Saturday June the 14th 2025 I will run a bus & pick up from the home of the Noe defunct diamonds sadly... Brough park at about 10am in the morning so we get to Manchester around about 2pm & gives us plenty time to visit the fan zone etc before the speedway starts & the bus will be leaving about half n hour after the meeting finishes so we get back to Newcastle for roughly 10pm .. just give me a message if anyone would like to go & I'll run a bus no problem
