Birmingham Brummies 2020

Huge dent to Brums chances this season. I saw THJ as the real difference maker if he showed up as his average is at bargain levels however sadly so is his commitment to UK speedway. No slight on VG but a big ask to come in as third HL. -

I also have a sneaky suspicion it will be out of work NL riders posing as juniors. I would also be very surprised if riders actually ride at their local tracks geographically and just end up where they want/get picked. I fear it has a season at best before the plug is pulled just like last time. -

Whilst i know you are regurgitating the spin that has been fed out so far i shall be keeping this post stored away as i strongly suspect not one statement will become reality. -

Has that been confirmed anywhere? Last whispers i heard were that it was going to be regionalised which is slightly off when there is only 7 teams to start with. -

Certainly an odd bod. 2 year hiatus since 2017 the pops back up with plenty of bells teets and other manner of unpleasantness's. Just pop on ignore and will finally wither away although it hasn't worked for the Berwick wally yet. -

Promotions in the top flight are protecting their own product. Lets face it Buster had no league until he dragged other clubs in, the mafia want a two tier structure with 10 teams in each and the only way that will become possible is to dismantle the NL and force some teams up and the others out. Promotions have little interest in the development of upcoming talent until they are already showing signs of being a useful recruit. The BSPA are the decision makers who have driven out several amateur promotions over petty reasons however in Buster, Louis & Bates we trust forget Godfrey he is just the comedy puppet who is the public face of the blunders. -

I think quashing the current dev leagues with crazy reasons like your name is geographically inaccurate before starting their own saviour league rings a few alarm bells. Throw in the threat the NL was posing as it was becoming a solid sustainable product at semi affordable prices using UK only riders. Next season will likely see the PJL merge with the NL to offer up a lesser product and persevere the top clubs even if that does close a few tracks. Lets be clear its the top money promotions making decisions about leagues they have nothing to do with, why do they care? Because others are generating something successful and genuine and that is a treat and must be crushed before it starts. -

Hang around for the 2nd half and the saviour of speedway, the prem jnr league may just deliver that. There must be a whole host of eager local juniors ready to take to the track (because Louis said so) -

You never know the Prem Jnr league may offer a little bit more entertainment......if it actually gets run -
Then may Devils 2 reap what they sow

Indeed but the best options to fill the gaps currently reside in the Newcastle team. That said most are local enough so would be adding quite a bit of extra travelling for a few extra meetings.
-
It does have the feeling of building a team bu chucking a few riders in then attempting to plug the gaps rather than a thought out approach? I think Verge is based on IOW now so makes the travelling impractical, Harris was never keen on the journeys to Kent so cannot see his crew heading North. Shame really as the venture could struggle unless one of the Newcastle riders wants a few extra rides or miles on their van.
-
Results don't but competitiveness does. The terrible teams of the past have cost opposition promotions a lot of money (not calling this a terrible side) and likewise a team performing poorly on track will make it difficult to attract a home crowd. Not sure if this side is running a double headers or not but if so and its an increased entry fee a few poor results could affect both home teams gates.

As a long contributing and informed poster in my opinion Islander has added a heck of a lot more than yourself.

But how will they get a go? PL promoters have no idea about riders unless they are placed in front of them or recommended by others. Even then they will offer scant encouragement but the belittling junior league will make them feel good for a season before shutting it down blaming lack of rider support. -
Indeed. Most sides have built with 3 (and in Belle Vues case 4) 3ish pointers however the vast majority have experience far greater than the Armadale tail. Only Leicester look light at the bottom end but they have some big scorers in the main team. That said its still tricky to win matches with just 4 riders.

Im guessing L Millar will have to go at 2/4 given he has some (limited) league experience

Hopefully just rumours as THJ is the key to a good season IMO. That said nothing worse than a rider who doesn't want to be at the club. I guess it would be in place of Dany Gapp? But equally could just be mumbles and grumbles with little or no substance to it. -
Providing the window closes before X percent of that teams matches remain to be completed would it not be best to be the team having the most matches to complete and therefore having the pick of the available riders who have been on the merry go round prior to the window closing?
-
In terms of rider numbers it probably would help several if they were a little larger. I also concede that under lights helmet colours can be a bit tricky to pick out (especially when faded/stained and this should be stamped out on its white no grey/blue tint). Maybe the away side should have yellow and black quarters and black and white stripes? As for the pink troy lee gloves i hope they have plenty of stock in......beautiful idea

In all other sports opportunities are grabbed, gained and lost by either being good or not good enough along with a bit of fortune. All sports persons at the top of their game got there through dedication, hard work and because they did what it took to get to the top. In contrast Speedway can at times reward mediocrity and potential whilst genuine steady improvers can be frozen out. The numbers game is a harsh game and there has been a massive list throughout the years of good riders who never made it and it will grow year on year. The only way to guarantee a team place is to be so good that everyone wants to sign you. -
MSDL Destroyed by BSPA?
Sings4Speedway replied to Sings4Speedway's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
It was proposed to switch to the boring NJL format (same 4 riders racing 3 times yawn) but there were too few takers for the smaller engine class. As for the future unless the standard is driven up, the support from the top increased and entertainment increased there wont be one.
