Watched very little speedway this season and a couple of heats was enough tonight. What a farce. The 4 teams guaranteed to finish top 4 because the other 3 were woefully weak unsurprisingly finish in the top 4. Leicester win the league outright if they win at Oxford in their final meeting of the season but a ridiculous points scoring system and a league table that a mathematician would struggle to understand means they don't!. But no let's decide who wins the title in a farcical rain affected meetings in October.

You've hit the nail on the head. Change for change sake. Even the super heat was a 3-3 draw !!! Plus you need to have an A level in mathematics to understand the league table nowadays. I take it you could actually win the league without winning a single meeting all season with this points scoring system

And it was a drawn heat anyway . If they have to persist with this ridiculous extra heat at least they should keep going until they have a heat advantage. Can't understand why the thought of a drawn meeting is such an horrific outcome.

Exactly. 100%. Its just a gimmick. 1pt each , everyone is happy , a good fightback by Belle Vue and both teams share a lap of honour . Both teams supporters happy and goodnight.

28-50 after ht 13. Can't remember the Lions winning many away meetings by that score in the old 13ht meetings.

A meeting for the Speedway enthusiasts , the ones who say you should be lucky you have Speedway to watch. Watched a few heats . Saw lots of gardening and little else other than processional racing. Switched off. Your welcome to it if that's what you like.

On a track like Belle Vue with all the passing possibilities it should be 2 semi finals and the top 8 qualifying . The old system. How good would they have been !!

That'll be only showing each teams home meeting against Ipswich (when they're back to full strength with Doyle and Thompson injury free) and on the other occasions just show Belle Vue home meetings 👏. I'd be happy with that 👍

It wasnt good was it . Best part of the evening was the firework display which finished with Live and let die ! Music during the evening felt like we were at a rave ! 💩 played at full blast ! Was wondering if you had a fiver bet on each ht for red gate, how much you'd end up winning? A few decent races with Lindgren , Madsen and Zmarzlik and that was it. Once Zmarzlik was top scorer it meeting over. He was never going to miss out. Wish he'd have chosen a different gate just to entertain us all a little more. Anyway who cares about the Speedway , what a weekend.

Do we know if Dan Thompson will be fit enough to take his place in the Glasgow qualifier and should he be unable to participate are there any wild cards available for nominated riders ?

Always said that its the whole Speedway GP weekend experience which is why its so enjoyable. We're off to Prague again in 2 weeks and we couldn't care less if it's the most boring and processional racing ever witnessed. Guaranteed we'll have a brilliant weekend.

How good is Dan Thompson now. He's come on leaps and bounds in the last couple of years and looks a real star in the making with a brilliant future ahead of him. Am I right in thinking that Joe Thompson at some point a few years ago was ahead of Dan and looked to be the twin who'd progress further in the sport. Hopefully still time for Joe to join the top table.

Just returned from Prague again yesterday. It's a brilliant weekend. Best transport system in Europe. Buy a public transport ticket at the airport from the ticket machine which is valid for buses, the metro and trams. Airport to centre of Prague less than an hour. No need for a cab far too expensive. 24 hrs travel costs adults £4.16 , 60-65 £2.08 and 65+ free travel. Marketa Stadium on the Green Line at Petriny metro station. We're going again for the GP in a few weeks.

Ipswich built the team that every other team in the Premier League would have dreamed of with all the team consistently contributing to the scoring Every other team assembled their squad with a few riders they wanted and filled the rest of the 7 with individual riders just to fit the averages left available to them They're the one team in the league I'd ever pay to watch home or away if I ever had the opportunity.
