  1. True, but cant the promotion remind him of a 10:30 curfew (if that's correct) and say 'Look ref its gone 10 ... we aren't going to get this meeting in. Or maybe an hour befor then with 'Look ref its going to be around 10 before we can start... etc etc ???
  2. Best wishes to both injured riders. My moan is (and I was there) is, there is obviously only one reason to keep everyone waiting until that late at night to restart a meeting that imo should have been called of way before then - and that has nothing to do with public entertainment, it was all about trying to get to heat 10 even if it was midnight so that no money would be lost on a rerun meeting!!
  3. Showing your age there .... I came in search of knowledge ... and found it in Norfolk!!
  4. Where would you get enough riders to fill the teams?? You would have to make the teams 5 man only
  5. But the away matches HAVE taken place ..... me thinks you are tying yourself in knots!!
  6. That's the way I understand it. It is always announced at tracks that it is because the paramedic is with the injured rider, same as if someone falls ill in the crowd meetings are still held up while the paramedic is engaged.
  7. Likewise!! Have a programme for every meeting I have attended since I first went in 1976. Stored lovingly in boxes and looked at when the need for nostalga arises!! Would be gutted if they stopped!!
  8. Great meeting, thought Glasgow deserved something from it, fortune favoured Panthers in all honesty. Some great racing in the sunshine
  9. Not easy agreed .... But the only way to win it!!!!
  10. It was in the 70's and I remember a Panthers v Mildenhall meeting with the Hines brothers riding!! I know I had them all recorded on VHS tapes. I think there were around 7 or 8 tracks operating in the region inc Bosotn and Milton Keynes.
  11. Anyone else in the East Anglia region remember the once a week 'Speedway match of the week' which showed local derbies?? Happy days!!
  12. Living in the Fenland area of Cambridgeshire my local papers surprisingly don't mention Kings Lynn roadworks! It would have been good to know and have turned right as I left the stadium. I then thought I would go around the roundabout and head back .... Nope!! Only one possible exit into Lynn. Not really knowing the town I followed the one and only diversion sign I saw which eventually took me to the big interchange with the A10, Ah I thought 'get on the A47 westbound there ..... Nope, more cones!! So back into Lynn, no diversion signs and not a clue how to get through the town .... Took a chance and followed the highest number of other cars ... Amazingly went past McDonalds and to my joy was allowed on the A47!! A bit of warning or even a few signs would have helped!! Back to speedway ... Really enjoyed the meeting and Lambert's never say die attitude!!
  13. Was going with my daughter as she is a big fan of both NKI and Hans ........
  14. Listening to the team manager speaking on local radio and hearing how this team had silenced the doubters .... Sorry Carl, they are shouting again!! Not one Panther could get out of the start and to be honest not one looked fast enough when behind! In 42 years it's difficult to remember a more convincing home hammering Well done Workington, only team to turn up, bet you wish the 4's were here!!
  15. Forget about the hot laps, get to the pits early and watch the formation skipping!!!!
  16. Looking at the met office forecast ... Only one winner here!!!
  17. Unfortunately I think Panthers will be lucky to get within 10 points of Ipswich!! But then I am always a glass half empty guy!!
  18. It was working .... therefore no option but to change it!!!
  19. I have to say I was surprised Panthers won this meeting. I know Lakeside had not ridden as a team but I believe they had all had competitive rides prior to yesterday, certainly those doubling with Swindon had ridden a few times, whereas only Scott had taken part in any form of meeting on the Panthers side. On paper it was always going to be a tough meeting for Panthers so it was pleasing to actually get the win. As to who did what, the score card shows .. but I thought Tom Bacon looked more on the pace than previously and probably deserved a bit more points wise. I still believe that it will be a difficult season for this Panthers team, but we are running and off with a win.
  20. For some reason I missed this !!! Must be age!! Anyone know if a copy is available anywhere, it appears no re print is on the cards??
  21. Not sure Matt has picked the best foreign import this time
  22. Apart from that .... complete success!!
  23. Think it may have needed a bit more that giving the leagues a different name!!!
