The Dilemma Of Greg Hancock
Dodger Blue replied to Grand Central's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
No longer 'The Grin' Now 'The Smiling Assassin' -
Good job USA didn't make it to the World cup final, Greg would have had to have done a Whirling Dervish impression!! I blame WWE, hasn't Greg heard the 'don't try this' warning???

I am sure his parents do advise him, to advise him to miss the meeting was a fabulous way to turn supporter's opinion into going against him. Am I right in thinking they advised him to speak out against the way the BSPA treated him as a junior?? Maybe why he isn't in the British Final ... Don't know but could be If it is then his parents could do with a bit of advising

Shouldn't be a problem, wait until Wednesday, if the weather forecast still say's rain showers, then implement the SKY TV 48hour call off rule (yea I know it isn't on SKY but what the heck!) -

That's Olde English for Tactical Ride -
The power of Sky TV is a very potent thing!! Most meetings without TV coverage are stopped almost as soon as it starts raining as riders cant see when rain hits their tear offs, last night this wasn't the issue. So is it actually an issue for rider safety as I have always been told?. If it is then why did the riders take to the track for heat 1??

Maybe riders clearing off for evening meetings was the deciding factor, just a thought -

Finding a like for like replacement for Allen is almost an impossibility I would think. The team mentioned with Kurtz is about as good as its going to get, I imagine we would have to go along this route as options are limited. -

I don't know ... a packed out Deepdale, Brammel Lane, Ricoh or Stadium MK would create a hell of an atmosphere -

I think that every situation I have seen similar to this with a rider lying on the track in the 1st/2nd bend area and the others about to finish the last lap, the red lights have come on prior to riders finishing the race so that they have slowed before passing the prone rider. Didn't happen in this case, bit of an unusual one IMO -

I hope that's wrong, personally I have collected the programme for every meeting I have attended since my first one in 1976, these are all completed and filed away (anorak I know). It wouldn't be the same if all my collection was downloads on a tablet!! Not a lot of fun going through an old set in the winter remembering certain meetings. -

Shane Bowes Or Robert Nagy
Dodger Blue replied to Robinh88's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I remember the three times re run race off for the riders championship at Coventry, great drama, as a Panthers, fan wrong result though!! Nagy was a great rider at that level though -
I am very lucky in the fact that I live smack in the middle of 3 tracks, one in each of the levels of league racing and can honestly say that I find very little difference in the entertainment level at any of the tracks. I also visit Buxton at least once a year and have dragged my wife to watch National League racing at numerous venues from Weymouth to Sittingbourne to Stoke and have been entertained by them all. Some of the facilities have been a bit lacking but for speedway entertainment dont worry about it being NL

Fantastic entertainment!! Congratulations to Greg on his win and for doing his up most to make sure the battle for 3rd went to the wire!! KK a comfortable second but the incident and drama over third was pure theatre - going to watch it again now!! -

There was a good reason for that...... You have to marvel at the brass neck of Horton, he sat in the stand listening to the end of season speeches that were publicly announcing that his management was s*** and then was applauding with everyone else at the end of them!!!! Unbelievable!!! -

Dodger Blue replied to NeilWatson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I am afraid that this season has descended into a farce!!! The changes the management made have been a total disaster, rumours over non payment have been doing the rounds for many weeks now and if true you can only praise the effort certain riders have made recently (Ulric, Lasse and Ales have been superb at home recently) if they are in danger of not getting paid then its even more praise worthy. I cannot see how the club can continue unless another major shake up at the top if forthcoming. It is a bonus that only one home league meeting is left to race, as for the league cup final ... I can only see that being embarasing!!! -
Peterborough V Workington 9/9
Dodger Blue replied to Lord Lucan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That doesnt make a lot of sense ..... as Panthers were 2 points to the good they could only loose out by running heat 13 as it happened they scored a 5 -1 it made no difference to the overall points allocation, any heat advantage to Workington would have reduced Panthers league points allocation! Maybe they just wanted to give the paying public as amny races as possible -
