  1. Well it's confirmed that Greg is now out for the season. If Greg decides he's riding next year then I believe he is the most deserving EVER of a Wild Card and it should be a given he gets one. However, it is entirely possible that he will decide to get out on top. i suppose he'll know after his operation.
  2. With the Play off final dates much later than expected, does this mean the League cut off date will be extended so that all clubs can fulfill their fixture list? No reason to cram all meetings in before 6th September now surely???? Play off semis probably 18th & 25th September so cut off could easily be put back to 11th or 13th September?
  3. Hans Anderson must love the 30-60 scoreline. Lejonen thumped at home tonight in Sweden.
  4. I thought it was a really good meeting and a fab final. Just watched it as I had to record and thoroughly enjoyed it. Brilliant sport.
  5. Sky Speedway V BT Speedway? From my point of view I haven't really noticed much difference in quality from one to the other. Yes, maybe an odd battle at the back has been missed but maybe that's inexperience. I obviously don't watch it as technically as some and I'm happy with the programme. I hope BT stick with it and I do think the overall show is better. Sky are primarily interested in Football and all other sports are a foot note (TBF F1, Cricket & Golf are well supported). However, I'm not a Pearson fan when it comes to commentary, but you can't argue with his enthusiasm and at least Sudden Sam (loved him as a rider) is nowhere near. BT gets thumbs up from me whether they improve or not. If they do it's win win IMO.
  6. Now the teams are set until the end of the season, I think Rye House could make the play offs. Kings Lynn are imploding and Poole are very poor at the moment. If KK kicks into form they have a team. It's def an if though.
  7. Tungate is top notch tonight. He's the main difference with Bewley.
  8. Dave said in the broadcast Rune Holta was a good choice for reserve tonight. I think False Dawn was asking if they could choose "Reserves"? Apologies if I'm wrong. I understand reserves are the lowest 2 averages in the team?
  9. As it's on the banned list Laguta has no defence. However, I can't see how Meldonium would enhance the performance of a Speedway rider
  10. I think there may be more than normal to start with, but all changes no matter which sport need time to bed in.
  11. You may well be correct R&R and if so it would be counter productive. I do think it would be worth trialling in a few meetings though? Maybe in a track individual meeting with no "real" title at risk.
  12. Interesting. Why would it become a farce? As long as riders avoid the tapes they would be OK! Why do you think there would be a lot of re-runs? The reason for my question was to cut out re-runs due to unsatisfactory starts!
  13. I agree, it does seem to be better in Poland, but it's not always the case with the GP's. Is anybody actually AGAINST letting riders move at the start as long as there is NO tape touching? Should it be trialled? Personally I can't see a downside!
  14. OK, to counter that possibility, simply paint a white line say 30cm behind the tapes and the front wheel must be on or infront of it or something to that effect. Certainly not impossible to stop massive rollers.
  15. I understand the current rules state that riders have to sit still at the start and any movement can result in an unsatisfactory start and the race being stopped. This happens on far too many occasions and I agree with most people that if this rule is to persist then there should be no going back to the pits. It would still delay meetings though. However, why not let the riders move? Let them move as much as they want and if they get a flyer great stuff. We all watch meetings where certain gates are graves, well if they could move maybe it would be a leveller? If by moving though they touch the tapes then obviously they're out. No more unsatisfactory starts and the meetings would run more smoothly. Just a thought and apologies if this topic has been covered. I was reading the comments on the BT Coverage thread about meetings running over scheduled times and fans missing the ends of match.
  16. Comfy home win for the Stars. Holder looked better last night for Lejonen and too many weak links for Swindon. Doyle & Morris can make it interesting though. Start delayed for Sun again??????
  17. Could be a very close match at Dackarna with no Lindgren riding.
  18. Really enjoyed the coverage on Tuesday and I too would much prefer Dave Goddard's commentary compared to Pearsons "Screaming".
