  1. What did grind my gears was Pearson not knowing what the show was called. He kept saying Talking Dirt Powered by Monster Energy, despite all the screens and posters saying "fueled" by Monster Energy. Tell you are getting older when such irrelevance annoys you .... lol
  2. I believe they announced today, they have been signed off by the council to have limited crowds at NSS, which must be a positive step towards the SON being possible.
  3. looking at the british final how will riders be decided. Assume Scotty is a shoe in, Starkey was flying until his injury in last years meeting will he get a spot. Have the bspa released a formula to decide competitors in this unprecedented season. Will many top riders wish to ride in it with no other track time and no gp spot as a carrot?
  4. I think the cradley situation was a lot more sneaky. Arena Essex was at risk during the Olympic build phase to a compulsory purchase order. And I think the Woodruffe family have been quite open for a number of years that the place would not be there for ever as land prices rose. They were totally honest and open. Think Cradley had promises of replacement venue and all that guff and were sold down the river.
  5. A couple of viable people gave looked to restart racing (initially 4 wheels, but to inc speedway too) The land owners stance is there will never be another race of any description on that land again.
  6. Could be one of those meetings where 11 or 12 points could be enough.
  7. any live footage of Rawicz visit to Opole this morning? Many thanks
  8. think it was either the Polish Final or the Golden helmet 2019 that decided this years gp qualifiers, euro seeds etc.
  9. I dont read that as a top ten chart, rather just a list of ten popular sports in the UK. But speedway would be well down any list. Each year british Moto GP and F1 events get far more British speedway gp. Think in recent years it has out numbered world superbike crowds but that still leaves it as the 3rd biggest motorsport in the country.
  10. There were a lot of complaints this week about mondays meeting at Taunton, lack of social distancing and no masks. Apparantly Ipswich felt far "safer" on the sat night. But it seems its not just one or two local authorities allowing it, nearly all active tracks have hosted meetings, those that haven't, have them planned for the upcoming weeks.
  11. Bit of a concern when one of our most talented young riders in Leon Flint only scores a couple of points against a field made up 2/3s unknown to me riders. Where do these other countries (outside poland) develop these youngsters to beat championship reserve level riders. Or is it simply the British tendancy to struggle on European shale and Leon would of beaten most of them on uk soil?
  12. Any team news yet, hoping Anders gets the nod for the Railmen
  13. My mistake, yeah that has to be a valid concern too.i was thinking on a purely financial basis.
  14. Len has already stated publically that regardless of what happens, Kent are good to run in the championship in 2021. Think in most part due to making a profit every year we have existed. Hopefully most other clubs will come back to tapes.
  15. I have various family that are active in different formulas. I can re confirm before covid that Saloon, Historic stox did not pay to race nor the national bangers. As far as I am aware the only formulas that paid to race were non Orci formulas when racing at ORC tracks and some formulas that have had dwindling numbers have had to pay a deposit to book in(to insure viable numbers come raceday I believe.)
  16. Laguta 50 more Kk 50 more. Will do the Thursday bets on Thursday.
  17. They don't usually pay to race (accept a £2 levy to the ORCi) at stock car meetings, its just for a few behind doors meetings. In fact in the case of National Hot Rods, Brisca F1 and, (some) National Banger meetings get paid start money as well as the prize money. But to extend on your point about being amatuer, the BSPA have been making the point that NL is amateur level and therefore on that basis is 100 percent ok to start up.
  18. Banger/stock car stadiums seem to be phasing spectators in over the next few weekends, as many share stadiums with speedway and get far larger crowds and far more competitors and mechanics. Things must be looking positive toward starting up speedway pretty soon.
  19. If drabik gets banned they ll probably move chuginov into the top 5 so they have thier quota of "Poles" in main body?!?
