Poole Vs The Aces For The Title
SCB replied to Crazy robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'm sure there wasn't. You seem to be missing that this is not an issue with Poole, it's with the SCB and the referee. -

It's 2015 But using them rules, it seems it's ok. 3.4.3 c) Mark Lemon has already said he spoke to the referee Now using the 2015 rulebook. -
You can't deny what he has done and achieved for Poole. He's got a magnificent record.

But he's clearly not! Frankly, this stinks.

No, the BV appeal will do that (change things) if the SCB have any back bone! Can you not see the SCB messed up by not making a decision before last night? -

Humour me for a minute. BV have appealed, they have done so correctly. So the SCB have to remove the 2 points. Then what? THAT is why they needed to make a decision yesterday. Either way, yes some people would have moaned it was unfair but people would have know. We now have the situation where the SCB, if they make a decision that Newman should be excluded that we don't have a league winner! -
That would kill speedway. So Poole are allowed to keep the same 1-7. How the hell are Leciester or Wolves meant to build up to that level now? What happens in 12 months when Pooles 1-7 has improved even more? How can Leicester, Wolves, Lakeside and Swindon catch up? You'd have clubs closing down as they're losing 60-30. One of the best things about speedway is the points limit. It means you can't just sign 7 good riders but you have to sign 7 improving riders and thats a far greater skill for a manager.

Where the competitors costs are higher, so it surely makes it even worse than the they get less of a cut?!

The procedure is to appeal to the referee after the heat and then appealing in writing within 24 hours. Lemon has said on twitter he appealed to the referee and BV stated on their website they have appealed to the SCB. They have followed the procedure. The rule states says, "goggles must be worn" and the rule that says riders must be "ready to race" within the 2 minute time allowance. -

I'll be honest, I feel a little sorry for Poole. One of their riders made a mistake. It happens but normally when a mistake is made it's sorted out by the referee, the referee messed up so BV appealed. The mupets at the SCB failed to act. This now leave a huge question mark over the result. Poole didn't cheat but on of their riders did make a mistake that the rulebook says should be punished. So well done to the SCB on leaving a sour taste in Poole win. Well done for not acting. All it took was a quick meeting yesterday morning to make a decision and announce it! Now whatever they decide is going to be "wrong". -

If BV get a 5-1 here then how will the SCB handle goggle-gate?! -

There were 17 permanent riders and a wildcard. The lowest scorer was only reserve at the next round. Or something weird like that! -

If thats true all BV need to do tonight is turn up with some illegal bikes, fool the referee and hey presto! -
I'd assumed that the reason Jason was over here was because of his fathers health/surgery.

Whatever Has Happened To Coventry's Appeal?
SCB replied to The Voice Of Reason's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Lets hope our management us it then and carry this one on. The SCB can't just stop something because it doesn't suit them! -

"principle" A long lost concept in the World of speedway. In fact in the World in general. -

But if Lemo is correct that he contacted the referee to tell him.... I get the referee could miss it, thats fair enough and easy enough but when he was informed.... Anyway, has anyone seen Drop a Cog? I'm worried he's had a heart attack due to the play-offs! Or has got lost in that big crowd on Monday?! -
It depends how high the draft starts. And what you're thinking it purpose is. Brig on young Brits? Force out foreignors? As I see it Berwick need a rider, Glasgow need a rider, Newcastle 2, Peterborough 1 if you make Lambert a draft rider, Plymouth 2, Redcar 1 (assuming Roynon is a draft rider), Scunny 1 (assuming Wilkinson is one), Sheffield 1 (assuming Bates), Workington 1. So 11, 12 if you think Starke on 6.00 is pushing it. In addition theres Ben Wilson, James Wright, Lewis Rose and Adam Ellis so you need 8 NL riders. So Wajknecht, Perry, Carr, Ritchings, Williamson, Morleys, Shanes, Ayres, Stokes, Halsey, Payne and Mountain give you a few spares.

Well great. Thats fine then. Equally had he not worn a helmet in that heat he'd have not had any trouble either. So why no goggles then? Wheres the common sense there? -

Thinking about it, would a referee let a race start if a rider wasn't wearing a helmet?! -

So where do you draw the line? What if he goes out without a helmet on? -

Starman would defend a rider if he forgot his kevlars and helmet it seems. As long as Poole get points he doesn't give a rubbish about safety!
